This study investigated the degree to which young children's mothers needed a parent education program on home safety, the preferred goals, contents, methods, and evaluation of a parent education program on home safety, and whether or not the needs for a parent education program on home safety varied according to mothers' age, education background, and job. This study also analyzed the experience of their participation in any parent education program on home safety and its effect according to mothers' age, education background, and job. The data were collected from 569 mothers of young children and analyzed by $X^2$ and F tests. A questionnaire was developed based on the research of Peterson and Mori (1985) and Jung et al. (1992). The conclusions of this study were as follows: 1. The majority (92.8%) of mothers recognized the need for a parent education program on home safety and 97.5% indicated an intention of participating in a parent education program on home safety. 2. Mothers rated the most important goal of a parent education program on home safety as protecting young children from injuries. Mothers in their 30's responded to the need for understanding of young children's development characteristics and safety guidance as the highest while mothers in their 20's responded methods of first aid the highest. 3. The preferred methods of a parent education program on home safety were activities or learning by experience and the preferred instructors were safety professionals majoring in child development and family studies or early childhood education. The preferred practice methods of a parent education program on home safety were 5 sessions, with 25-29 participants, at young children's institute, on weekday afternoons, for one and a half hours per session, and with evaluation through questionnaire. 4. Nearly half (44%) of mothers had participated in a parent education program on home safety during the previous 3 years and 77.6% of them responded that a parent education program on home safety was effective on their safety lives. Mothers in their 30's had more experiences of a parent education program for home safety more than mothers in their 20's.
Purpose: This study was to develop a cost-effective and efficient curriculum for advanced practice nurse (APN) programs in home health care and hospice. Method: The process was to: (1) compare and analyze the present curriculum in home health care and hospice programs, (2) identify the needs of 7 expert nurses in home health care and hospice, and (3) develop a common curriculum structure and contents between home health care and hospice specialty courses. Result: Out of the 10 credits constituting the home health care and hospice specialty courses respectively, 6 credits were identified the common courses, Common content areas included introduction to hospice, communication skills, pain control. symptom control. teaching methods, and agency management. Conclusion: These results can be utilized in the development of APN programs for home health care and hospice in terms of qualified and cost-effective aspects of education.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the services and cost of CVA patients in hospital-based home health care and compare the differences of home health care cost by hospital types. Methods: The subjects of this study were 5,756 home care patients with cerebrovascular disease. Data were collected by using home health care medical expense claims from 127 hospitals in 2004. Results: The home care service 'indewelling catheterization' was the highest(19.28%), and then 'nasogastric tube insertion and change(16.72%)', 'bladder irrigation(15.98)', 'wound management(simple dressing)(10.42%)' followed. Average home health care cost per visit was 39,943 won, and the highest 46,058 won in general hospitals and the lowest 33,922 won in tertiary hospitals, so there were statistically significant among the types of hospitals(F=1112.47, p<0.0001). Conclusions: The number of home health care patients has been rapidly growing with the increase of aged population and demand for home care services is rising. So, it could be urgent to develop a reasonable cost reimbursement system for home health services and to expend scopes of the roles of home care specialist nurses. Amid the demand of more detail understanding the present status of home care, our study can be contributed to provide fundamental information of home care in Korea.
This study develops normative scores of the Infant/Toddler version of the Home Observation for Measurement of the Environment (IT-HOME) inventory for Korean infants and toddlers. We selected 482 0- to 36-month-old infants and families by a stratified sampling procedure that considered residency, age, and gender of children. The pass rate, discrimination rate, and internal consistency were analyzed for the item analysis. Statistical validity included intercorrelation among the IT-HOME subscales, correlation between IT-HOME scores and environmental status variables, and correlation between IT-HOME and Korean Bayley Scales of Infant Development second edition (K-BSID-II) scores. Normative scores were prepared by percentile ranks. The results of this study were as follows: First, 45 items were acceptable for Korean subjects with few exceptions. IT-HOME was developed to screen unfavorable environmental factors during infancy; therefore, items such as 12, 17, 23, 39, 44 need to be retained even though they had low discriminating power. Second, IT-HOME subscales were correlated, and IT-HOME was significantly related to parents' education level, household income level, and infant' developmental levels. Third, percentile scores and the median of each IT-HOME subscales were suggested as normative scores. We discussed the normative scores of the IT-HOME to screen the quality of home environments for children aged 0-36 months in Korea, and provide the intervention basis for the at-risk population.
Korean home economics education has around 100 years history. The main aims of home economics education up 1950 had not been changed, they were mainly for the improvement of household-skill to raise both standard of living and life quality as well as womanhood. After 1960's the standard of living drastically improved and the industrialization of Korean society was quite rapidly proceeded from simple to complex one. Because of these changes, I considered that the aims and the contents of home economics education should be reexamined and reshaped. This study motivated me that especially home economics major should be trained to be competent enough to work in industrialized society as much as the input to her college education. As industialization was made progress, family member's diverse role differentiation also occurred from past simple role such as house wife or girl's high school teacher among by home economics major. In this current societal change, most of the home economics major have wish to have opportunities obtaining new kinds of employment rather than obtaining merely teaching work. With this in mind I made a study on college level home economics education of the new adjustment to current and future industrialized Korean society. (1) The full number of officially admissible home economics major in 169 Korean colleges, 70 junior colleges, and one open university were as follows, 7139, 6080, and 230 respectively. The percentages of employed of employed numbers of them for the college and junior college graduates were 26.5 and 39.0 respectively. (2) The certificate qualifications issued to college home economics major are nutritionist (1st grade and 2nd grade), clothes and textilist, home economics teacher (2nd grade for high school) and kindergartener (2nd grade), The qualifications are certified after majoring each field from major departments of college of home economics by Ministrys of Labour and Education of the Korean government. The percentages of their employment are low as mentioned earlier. (3) To find out new employment opportunity for home economics graduates in home economist in business (henceforce/HEIB) status quo of consumer division for mational enterprise was surveyed. According to govermment decree of general law of consumer protection (1980), enterprise should organize bureau (offics, subdivision) on liability to consumer's complaint. Of 89.6% of the enterprise established th subdivision in which 96.2% of employee was male (3.8% was female). Of the employee college graduate and high school graduate were 93.2% and 6.8% respectively. On the employee's major acadmic backgroud (%), economics and business administration, engineering and low-political science were 39.5, 26.2 and 11.2 respectively. (4) To study on the relation between home economics and home economist in business, the aspect of historical development of HEIB, group of HEIB employing enterprise and their nature of business were tried to find out as well as perception and evaluation by enterprise on HEIB. (a) In the united States of America employed home economics major to enterprise was organized autonomously HEIB subdivision within American Home Economics Association since 1920's and the membership of HEIB was 3,000 of the AHEA membership 50,000. (b) In Japan the Japanese founder HEIB had three times the bilateral congress with the U.S.HEIB and had 10th anniversary celebration in 1988. Japanese HEIB member are not necessary to be home economics graduates but should have certificate as consumer adviser effected by the Minister of Trade and Industry. Japanese subdivision of consumer affaire within Japanese enterprise employ the consumer adviser with the certificate. Because of this different system from the United Sates, Japanese HEIB call their title "HEEB" instead of HEIB. The Japanese consumer adviser certificate system had initiated since 1980 and it belongs to 2nd level national qualification certificate. Currently active membership of Japanese "HEEB" association had increased from 115 (in 1979) to 319 in 1988. (5) For the opening of the future new employment of home economics graduates to enterprise and qualification required for the HEIB by national enterprise in Korea, I studied on the courses which seem to be important and required by employee in the field of HEEB in the United States of America and preliminary curriculum for home economics related major student aimning to be the future "HEEB" by Japanese HEEB study group of Japanese Association of Home Economics. It is suggested that it is very important and urgent to realize as home economics educator to have common deep concern and endeavors on opening new employment for our home economics major student1), we should try to publicize strongly and let enterprise and consumer protection board realize that employee in the subdivision of consumer protection should be the one who well experienced home economics major graduates2), we, home economics educator, should try to develop actively new curriculum in line of the suggestion made earlier for our future home economics major student of open broadly their future employment opportunities3), we, home economics educators, should try to have consensus on whether we should have support from government in terms of receiving national qualification certificate on consumer pretection or not4), and I would appreciate if the Korean Home Economics Association and Korean Home Management Society paydeep and positive concern on this matter.
Not only is home a place, but also it has psychological and social meaning. Then the meaning of home is different according to geographical location or group. Therefore, under this background, the purpose of this study was to analyze the meaning of home of the university students. The data was collected through the students ' essay about "the meaning of housing for me". The samples are 158 in total. The research method which was performed in order to recognize the meaning of home was a content analysis . As the results of study, the meaning of home are 10 in total. First order is a home as a refuge, second order is a home as a space with a family, and third order is a home as a base of activity.
The reasons to attend Alternative Schools are : to compensate for the discontent over what is locally taught in state schools and to improve the students' satisfaction and social emotional development. In 2006, it was estimated that about a thousand Home Schools were set up. With the studies of Alternative Education and Home Schooling, the issues are : 1) the depth study of curriculum of Alternative Education with a wide range of subjects, 2) the institutionalization of Home Schooling, 3) educational methods for Home Schooling, 4) a research on Home Schooling's effectiveness. Their practical and political issues are : 1) to give the licence to the rest of schools and to formulate Education Law on Home Schooling, 2) to obtain government's financial support to the both sections, 3) to support a system of instructional contents and methods of Home Schooling, and 4) to select, share and popularize the best practices of Home Schooling.
This study examined the time use of married female home-based workers in comparison with married female on-site workers. The data were collected from 165 home-based workers and 292 on-site workers in Busan and Kyungnam province, by a self-administered questionnaire. Frequency distributions, Pearson's correlations, and multiple regression analyses were conducted by SPSS/PC/sup +/. The major findings are summarized as follows: (1) both groups spent more time in physiological activities, household work, and leisure on weekends than on weekdays, while they spent more time in work on weekdays than on weekends; and (2) generally, the age of the youngest child and the home presence of an aged or handicapped relative had effects on the time use of home-based workers. These results imply that home-based workers need to develop some strategies for time management to harmonize their home-based work with household work.
The objectives of this study are examine the variables effecting management behavior of home-band worker through empirical study. The data used for statistical analysis is 285 home-based worker. The statistical methods used for data analysis were frequencies, mean, t-test, multiple regression, factor analysis and path analysis. The major findings can be summarized as fellows. Home-based workers' various characteristics were statistically significant variable to management behavior. Home-based work income were higher for older women, no employ experience in out of home, lower age of children, business owner, lower time flexibility. In cause-effect model analysis that affects life satisfaction was related to work management, home management behavior and income. Based on the finds of the study, it was found that home-based work can be good alternative to induce married women to labour market if some problems are covered.

The Home Phoneline Networking Alliance (HomePNA) 2.0 technology can establish a home network using existing in-home phone lines, which provides a channel rate of 4 - 32 Mbps. HomePNA 2.0 Medium Access Control (MAC) protocol adopts an IEEE 802.3 Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Detection (CSMA/CD) access method, a Quality of Service (QoS) algorithm, and a Distributed Fair Priority Queuing (DFPQ) collision resolution algorithm. In this paper, we analyze the HomePNA 2.0 MAC protocol and propose the architecture of HomePNA 2.0 MAC controller circuit. Then, we present the simulation result of each block included in the HomePNA 2.0 MAC controller.
