  • This paper describes the PCB drilling using an ultra high-speed air bearing spindle system and micro drill. For this research, we have developed the ultra high-speed air bearing spindle of 125,000 rpm and made an experiment for the application possibility in the PCB drilling. In order to estimate the drilling performance, we have investigated the size and damage of drilled hole, and the wear of drill at 90,000rpm. Results are as follows; we have confirmed the possibility in the PCB drilling of air bearing spindle. In case of micro-drilling PCB at $0.1mm\sim0.3mm$, the increase in the number of drilling has resulted in a bigger size of holes and also a bigger size of damage. It has been found that the wear of micro drill tends to concentrate in the main cutting edge.

  • Multi-layer printed circuit board(PCB) is being used widely for the product with relatively complex circuits such as TV, VTR and FAX. With the rapid enlargement of electronic and IT industry, the hole machining technology on multi-layer PCB is increasingly required to improve. Thus, the micro drilling with ultrasonic vibration can be a good method for hole machining. Unlike conventional drilling, ultrasonic vibration applied drilling introduces less wear and fracture of not only tool but also internal surface of workpiece due to little cutting resistance, thus, machinability can be improved. The experiment is conducted through the comparison between the results of conventional drilling and ultrasonic micro drilling as well as among each results by the variation according to not only feed rate of drill but also amplitude and frequency of ultrasonic vibration. The multi-layer PCB consists of 6 layers and ${\Phi}$0.3 diameter drill was used. As a result, it was found that the state of internal surfaces of holes on multiple layer PCBs is improved by the application of ultrasonic vibration.

  • To develope corrugated paperboard box for cold chain system, it was investigated to compression strength and size of air hole. The size of air holes of the side tested box were designed as six groups, 4, 7, 10% and two kind of air hole, 2, 3 hole per the side. Compression strength of box(440${\times}$330${\times}$170 mm(length${\times}$width${\times}$height))was tested by compression tester UM-20Y, DaeSin Co., Korea, speed is 12.5 mm/min), it was stored 4 week at room temperature, RH 70${\times}$5%. Compression strength was high the mort narrow, the longer of air hole. Compression strength of box of the side, 4% was 10% higher among 4, 7, 10%, but differentiate of compression strength owing to the number of air hole was below 10%. for improving the compression strength of box, paper board box for cold chain system was made of the narrow of width and of the long length of air hole.

  • The on-board system for the air supply to the payload fairing(PLF) of a launch vehicle using both high and low pressure air was designed. The design concept was obtained from the CFD analysis of a Russian interstage air supply system, and a collector was adopted to expand the high pressure air. To verify that the on-board system would work as designed, a simplified axisymmetric computational model was made and a CFD analysis was also performed. It was found that the flow ejected from the hole of the collector expands to the Mach number of 4 and is soon retarded due to the action of viscosity. It was also found that a small gap between the low pressure duct and equipment bay wall can cause large velocity in PLF over the velocity requirement and no gap should be allowed in the design.

  • We developed a new punching system that generates pinholes expressing texts or images on a plastic plate. The pin-holed plate is used as a new glamorous display board reflecting colorful lights from the light emitting diode (LED) installed on the edge side of the plate. The four degree-of-freedom punching system was designed to make same multiple holes on four plastic plates simultaneously. For this motion, we designed a structure for a simultaneous motion of the system. For even reflection of the lights from texts or images on the board and fast production of the pin-holed boards, fast motion including precise position control is very important. We also built a PC-based integrated control system including a GUI program to help users easily design luminous texts or images on the plastic plate. Also, we conducted a performance test of the system to verify the punching speed and position control of the pin holes on the plate.

  • This paper describes a highly accelerated life test (HALT, USPCBT) method for rapid qualification testing of STH PWB(Silver Through Hole Printed Wiring Boards). This method was carried out to be an alternative to the present time-consuming standard 1344 hours life testing(THB). The accelerated life test conditions were $121^{\circ}C$/95%R.H. at 50V bias and without bias. Their results are compared with those observed in the standard 1344 hours life test at $40^{\circ}C$/95%R.H. at 50V bias and without bias. The studies were focused on the samples time-to-failure as well as the associated conduction and failure mechanisms. The abrupt drop of insulation resistance is due to the absorption of water vapour. And the continuous drop of insulation resistance is due to the Ag migration. The ratios of time-to-failure of HALT(USPCBT) to THB were 25 and 11 at 50V bias and without bias respectively.

  • A practical scheme to reduce failure of the PCB(Printed Circuit Board) of a monitor is introduced using deformed mode shape under mechanical shock. When the monitor is given critical shock loads, cracks are commonly initiated at the tip of a hole on the PCB. Accordingly, a deformed mode shape of the PCB is obtained using a FEM code to define a weak point on the PCB under mechanical shock, and then the position and direction of the hole is determined to prevent the failure at the critical mode shape. Also, the stress intensity factor around the weak point on the PCB is calculated to check the possibility of fracture by normal tensile stress. In conclusion, present research is useful to assist the practical design of components-layout on the PCB.

  • Purpose: To resolution of A hospital-handmade modification double tilt angle immobilization system (DTAB immobilization system) and to report the clinical results of it. Material and Methods: It was developed in conjunction with the breast board for patients unable to achieve and maintain the desired uncomfortable respiration and position of set-up needed in the treatment of RT (This custom design provides an alternative to accomplishing this desired head angle needed to relax position treatment area, realizing that the lenses totally protected eye-ball out) By using the angled breast board and SBDD(small bowel device), reproducibility of set-up and patient comfort were addressed throughout the simulation, computed tomography planning and treatment process. Results: Usually patients the error range-within 5 mm. When use of Aqua patients error range-within 3 mm. Conclusion: It was constructed in tandem with a unique custom-built double tilt angle board (DTAB). It was designed to eliminate clinical set-up problems with head immobilization and instability during treatment, thus providing for a more comfortable head rest for the patient.

  • Fuel cells have the potential of providing several times higher energy storage densities than those possible using current state-of-the-art lithium-ion batteries, but current energy density of fuel cell system is not better than that of lithium-ion batteries. To achieve the high energy density, volume and weight of fuel cell system need to be reduced by miniaturizing system components such as stack, fuel tank, and balance-of-plant. In this paper, the thin flexible PCB (Printed circuit board) is used as a current collector to reduce the stack volume. Two end plates are made from light weight aluminum alloy plate. The plate surface is wholly oxidized through the anodizing treatment for electrical insulation. The opening rate of cathode plate hole is optimized through unit cell performance measurement of various opening rates. The performances are measured at room temperature and ambient pressure condition without any repulsive air supply. The active area of MEA is 10.08 $cm^2$ and active area per a unit cell is 1.68 $cm^2$. The peak power density is about 210 mW/$cm^2$ and the air-breathing planar stack of 2 Wis achieved as a small volume of 18 cc.

  • In this paper, a direct drive scalar robot manipulator is constructed and its mechanical machanism for operation is explained. Also, a motion controller board for the direct drive robot manipulator was developed where the IBM 486 computer is the main controller. For the developed direct drive robot, a force/motion control algorithm based on an active compliance scheme is developed. A preliminary experiment using the developed direct drive for a peg-in-hole job was done by implementing the control algorithm.
