변형 모드를 이용한 모니터용 회로 기판의 파손 저감 설계에 관한 연구 (Failure-Proof Design of the PCB of a Monitor Using Deformed Mode Shape)

  • A practical scheme to reduce failure of the PCB(Printed Circuit Board) of a monitor is introduced using deformed mode shape under mechanical shock. When the monitor is given critical shock loads, cracks are commonly initiated at the tip of a hole on the PCB. Accordingly, a deformed mode shape of the PCB is obtained using a FEM code to define a weak point on the PCB under mechanical shock, and then the position and direction of the hole is determined to prevent the failure at the critical mode shape. Also, the stress intensity factor around the weak point on the PCB is calculated to check the possibility of fracture by normal tensile stress. In conclusion, present research is useful to assist the practical design of components-layout on the PCB.

압송롤러 드럼베이스의 홀 설계에 따른 페인트 유입양상에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Inflow Pattern of Paint according to the Hole Design of the Drum-base in the Pressure-roller)

  • 최근 환경부의 강화된 규제로 건축물 아파트 등 산업시설을 도장함에 있어 페인트를 유압에 의해 자동으로 이송시켜 스프레이식으로 도장하는 기존 에어리스 방식의 사용을 금지하였다. 따라서 기존의 에어리스 도장장치에 스프레이 대신 부착하여 사용할 압송롤러개발이 필요한데, 현재 개발되어 판매 중인 압송롤러는 롤러를 구성하는 SUS배관 및 드럼베이스의 홀 설계에 대한 자세한 연구 사례가 없어 그 효율성이 의심이 되는 바이다. 특히, 롤러를 이용한 도장 시롤러 양단에 페인트가 충분히 공급되지 못하면 도장 후 붓을 이용한 재작업이 필요하게 되므로, 롤러 양단에 페인트가 잘 유입될 수 있도록 드럼베이스 홀을 분포시킬 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 SUS배관 및 드럼베이스에 가공되는 홀의 형태가 페인트의 유입양상에 미치는 영향을 알아보고 보다 효율적인 홀 설계 방안을 제시하기 위하여 SUS배관 및 롤러에 대하여 전산유체해석을 수행하였다. 해석결과 SUS배관에서의 홀 배치는 배관에 균일하게 배치하는 것이 균형 있게 페인트를 유입시키기에 좋고, 드럼베이스의 경우는 홀을 드럼베이스 양단에 밀집하여 가공하면 페인트가 롤러 양단에 더 잘 유입시킬 수 있음이 검증되었다.

  • The technique of neural networks is applied to cold forging design system. A user can select more desirable plans in cold forging design by being advised with expert's opinion from neural networks. The neural networks are learned with 3 parts which are most important in cold forging design-undercut, narrow hole, sharp corner. Using the neural networks, the cold forging design system built in this study determines forming possibility about variable shapes in product. We can get available result using the system.

  • Chemical accidents generated during maintenance, repair, and normal operation, such as dispersion, fire, and explosions, can cause massive losses like a 2012 hydro fluorine leak in Gumi, South Korea. Since this accident, many researches have studied physical mitigation systems. However, due to many difficulties including potential costs and lack time, it is really hard for many companies to install mitigation systems without prior knowledge. Thus, the efficacy of mitigation system should be evaluated. This study assesses a dike design considering the fluid velocity at an open hole when a leakage accident occurs. It is assumed that leakage materials follow a free fall motion. Throughout case studies, a current KOSHA guide for a dike design was evaluated and new guidelines handling various conditions were proposed.

  • A smart phone is a multimedia device that is a necessity for modern people. It includes a wireless networking system to share information and pictures. However, numerous smart phones are discarded every year, since they have a very fast technology development cycle. This paper presents the development of a telemetry algorithm to measure displacement and strain with a discarded smart phone and digital image correlation methods. To implement the measurement algorithm, the LabVIEW 2010 program development platform was used. In order to verify reliability, an open hole tension test was conducted using a smart phone and a universal test machine. In addition, the measurement results from the smart phone were compared with FEM analysis results.

  • 가로등은 도로이용자가 안전하게 통행하기 위한 도로의 필수 시설물이지만 가로등은 도로의 부속 전기장치로 취급되어 왔다. 이러한 잘못된 인식 때문에 풍하중과 이에 대한 구조거동에 대한 연구들이 부족하여 풍하중에 충분한 안전성을 확보하지 못함에 따라 태풍 시 많은 가로등이 전도 또는 파손되는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 가로등 안전성을 기반으로 한 기존의 설계기준을 비교 검토하여 가로등주의 설치 여건에 적합한 개선된 설계기준을 제시하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 전도의 원인이 되는 점검구의 응력집중 현상을 분석하고 응력 저감 방안을 검토하였다.

  • In this paper elastic-plastic large deflection analysis of ship structural members, plates, stiffened plates and cylindrical shallow shell, are performed by the finite element method. And for the consideration of the yielded propagation through the depth of the member, the layered element approach is employed. The present method is justified by comparing its results with those of experiment and others. As results, the nonlinear behavior and the ultimate strength curves are shown, which can be used in the design of the plates and the stiffened plates under compression, and the applicability to the shell structures is suggested. The analysis results are as followings. (1) The results of the approximate equations as well as those of buckling analysis may not guarantee precisely the safety of the structures in some cases and the optimum in other cases. Therefore they may not show the design criteria for the optimal design. (2) As the initial deflection increases, its effects on the ultimate strength of the structure generally increases, and the ultimate load, therefore, decreases. (3) This approach can be applied to the shell type structures. (4) The present method can be applied to the various structures composed of plate and beam members, for example, plates with hole and the stiffened plates with hole stiffened by spigot, doubler and/or stiffener, for the optimal design.

분해모델과 구멍 메움 알고리즘을 이용한 냉장고 내부 용적의 자동 계산 (Automatic Calculation of Interior Volume of Refrigerator by Hole Filling Algorithm)

  • Internal capacity of a refrigerator is an important indicator for design and purchasing criteria. The components facing the internal space may have holes or gaps between parts. In traditional way, design engineers manually remodeled the parts to fill the holes and the gaps for enclosed boundary of the internal space. Then they calculated internal volume by subtracting the assembly of parts from its enclosing volume. However, filling holes and gaps is not an automated process requiring a plenty of labor and time. In this research, we have developed a voxel-based method to estimate the internal volume of a refrigerator automatically. It starts transforming all components facing the interior space into voxels and fills all holes and gaps automatically by the developed hole-filling algorithm to form a completely closed boundary of the assembly. Then, it identifies the boundary voxels that are facing to the internal voxels with any part of the component. After getting the intersection points between the boundary voxels and the surfaces of components, it generates the boundary surface of triangular facets with the intersection points. Finally, it estimates the internal volume by adding volume of each tetrahedron composed of a triangle of boundary surface and an arbitrary point.
