We analyzed the relationship between sex, age, job class, drinking history, smoking history, exercise history and the results of bone mineral density using X2-test of the SPSS Ver. 14.0. There was a positive correlation between age and osteoporosis prevalence. In job class, sales personnel were apt to have a higher prevalence of osteoporosis than factory workers and office workers. Osteoporosis rates of the drinker group showed a higher level than the non-drinker group. Bone mineral densities of non-smoker group were higher than the Smoker group. And bone mineral densities of exerciser group were higher than the non-exerciser group. They have to encourage exercise and educate the workers to quit smoking for their health promotion. Furthermore, continuous health check up needs to be done connectedly.

This study is designed to prove clinical value of Introduction to Medicine for practitioners in their early stage of clinical practice. Methods : Introduction to Medicine is closely reviewed in various aspects in order to examine broad outlines of specificity as well as its distinctive constructional feature. Results : Since Introduction to Medicine showed peculiar intention of developing practitioner's clinical ability, it has been a preferential choice for Korean medicine practitioners to enhance their qualification at the early stage of one's career in Korean history. Through understanding multilateral aspects of clinical guidelines and directions engraved in Introduction to Medicine, learners will be able to derive full capacity from the text.

  • Purpose : Local medicinal herb festivals present the history of the Korean medicine and cultural resources in the regions to play an important role in attracting tourists, vitalizing local economy, and improving the local image. Therefore, it is important to understand the origin of the festival and grasp historical and cultural meaning of local medicinal herb festivals. Methods : I compared the books and articles presented in the reference list. Results & Conclusions : Local medicinal herb festivals originates from traditional yangnyeongsi. Since the $17^{th}$ century, yangnyeongsi has grown up as a special market. Implementation of the Daedong Act promoted commodity and monetary economy that helped commerce and industry develop and market grow up. It also made changes in the social status system and yangnyeongsi has been such a historical phenomenon appeared in this social background. The growth of yangnyeongsi contributed to the progress in the private medicine that triggered the gradual transfer of power in the medicine to the private sector which has long been held by the government. In yangnyeongsi, there were many cultural events to attract visitors. It's the same case in China that preserves stages that were used for cultural events in the medicine market to pass down the historic sites while those in Korea are disappearing as yangnyeongsis are being pulled out of the city areas to the suburban areas due to the redevelopment projects. For this reason, restoration of the place for traditional yangnyeongsi should be taken into account through local medicinal herb festivals.

  • The history of medicine has a strong correlation to the ancient development of epidemics. Although the study of the history of East Asian Traditional Medicine does not put much emphasis in understanding the flow of medical history in relation to epidemics, it largely impacted the development of this epidemic and the compilation and evolution of treatment methods. The same was true for Korea as they linked development of epidemics, unusual natural conditions, and social phenomenons from ancient documents. This study methodically classifies the epidemics mentioned in ${\ulcorner}$三國史記${\lrcorner}$ and concludes on how ancient Koreans understood epidemics.

  • "HanGaekChiHeom" is a book that arranged the medical records left by a Japanese doctor Junso Higuchi who treated a group of diplomats from Chosun and questions and answers exchanged between him and Chosun's doctor ChoSoongSoo. There are 14 kinds of medical records here with treatments and prescriptions as well as the detailed descriptions about the name, age and symptoms of patients. Various diseases and symptoms are included among them such as bums, common cold, skin diseases, edemas, etc. The characteristics of Junso Higuchi seem to be affected by medicine in Ming Dynasty in China.
