  • I found evidence that Kim Y$\breve{o}$ng (金泳, 1749-1817) is the author of the Korean Poch'$\breve{o}$n'ga with New Charts published in 1792 by the Astronomical Bureau of the Chos$\breve{o}$n dynasty. I reconstructed a history of Kim Y$\breve{o}$ng from various literature remained in other persons' anthologies and governmental records. My findings on the author and publication year can help to solve the problem on the origin of star charts in the Poch'$\breve{o}$n'ga with New Charts. I also considered the changes of Chinese Bu-Tian-Ge and their star charts after Chongzhenglishu (崇禎曆書). I found that the new charts in the book of Huantiantushuo published by Li Mingche (李明徹, 1751-1832) in 1819 are approximately the same to those in the Poch'$\breve{o}$n'ga with New Charts by Kim Y$\breve{o}$ng in 1792.

  • Food irradiation is beginning to provide a safe, effective, and economical alternative treatment for many food products, especially for the raw food of animal origin. The historical background and wholesomeness of food irradiation were examined. The application and effect of the process were investigated. The cost and benefit of the irradiated poultry meat were evaluated. The effect of irradiation on the poultry meat, poultry products, and microorganisms were reviewed. With the safety of irradiated poultry meat and poultry products established, the future of the process is promissing.

  • This paper is to study about paisley shawl and paisley motif to focus on Kashmir shawl. Kashmir shawl and paisley shawl of Europe can be identified by the use of 'pine cone' motif. Early 19th Europe textile manufactures began imitating the Kashmir shawl, the motif began to be called 'paisley', after Paisley, Scotland, one of the largest producers of imitation Karshmir shawls. This study is to analyze on origin of shawl and paisley motif at the theoretical background. And main issues are to study on organization of the Kashmir shawl indusry, weaving technic and producing process, development of motif, change of size and border design of shawl, difference of Woven Kashmir shawl, Patchwork shawl and hml shawl, causes of decline to shawl industry, differences of between Kashmir and European shawl etc. The result of this study can help to understand correct and accurate information, knowledge of paisley motif and paisley shawl.

  • Cooperative behavior may seem contrary to the notion of natural selection and adaptation, but is widely observed in nature, from the genetic level to the organism. The origin and persistence of cooperative behavior has long been a mystery to scientists studying evolution and ecology. One of the important research topics in the field of evolutionary ecology and behavioral ecology is to find out why cooperation is maintained over time. In this paper we take a historical overview of mathematical models representing cooperative relationships from the perspective of mathematical biology, which studies population dynamics between interacting biological groups, and analyze the mathematical characteristics and meanings of these cooperative models.

  • De Zolt's axiom which is a precise formulation of Euclid's Common Notion 5, "the whole is greater than the part", for the notion of 'content' holds in any Hilbert plane. In this article, we study the history of de Zolt's axiom which has its origin in Euclid's Common Notions, and introduce an example of a plane geometry in which de Zolt's axiom does not hold. We show that there is no area function in this geometry and every square is equidecomposable with a square which is properly contained in the first one. From this we also show that there are two equidecomposable rectangles which have the same base and do not have the same altitude, and there is a rectangle which is equicomplementable with an emptyset.

  • According to the historical documents and paintings in many civilizations, rocks that fell from the sky fascinated humans as the message from the God or supernaturals. Scientific progress allows humans to recognize these exciting extraterrestrial objects as meteorites. Meteorites contain a wealth of pivotal information regarding formation of the early Solar System. Meteorites also provide broader scientific insights on, for example, the origin of life, interplanetary transfer of life forms, massive depletion of biosphere on Earth, and evolution of lithosphere on Earth-like planetary bodies.

  • The white color is the main characteristics of the traditional color of clothes. From the historical point of view, the Korean's pattern of wearing Baik-Eui can be found its origin from many people of North-East Asia in ancient time. The beginning of wearing Baik-Eui in Korea was at the age of tribes, and it was delivered to middle age, later on, to modern age near the end of Yi Dynasty. The other charactics of the traditional colors. are summarized as follows: 1. Prefered light color to dark color and light blue was noble and worthy. 2. The kinds of color were not various. 3. Color was native and pure not including grey or other colors. From the economical point of vie, the first thing is that Baik Eui was primitive in ti's color Though some say that wearing Baik-Eui is considered as a kind of worship of the Sun, yet we can also find that the every reason of it is that we had little dyes at that time. Especially the reddish dyeing materials were in short supply, so that had been imported mainly from Japan.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the origin of diversity of costume material caused by environmental difference. For this purpose, this research involved theoretical studies and studies based on historical data obtained from previous related studies. The common truth was proved that environmental including the geographical distribution of plants and animals determines costume material. Also, It was found that the unique traditional costume styles were developed through unique combination of costume material and their culture. The major results of this study are as follow : 1. The traditional costume of North American Indian was well-developed and closely related to geographical distribution of plants and animals. Also, their costume was so diverse that it could not be categorized. 2. The traditional costume of North American Indian showed ideal har mony between nature and human being surrounding environment into their costume. 3. The application of plants and animal materials into their costume was one of the environment-friendly human activity and it seems to give us an important message.

  • Objectives The purpose of this study is to describe the origin of Wuqinxi and transition to various forms. Also evaluating the feasibility of Wuqinxi as a modern medical exercise. Methods For collecting data, various documents came from China, Taiwan, and Korea. Also we searched Pubmed, KISS, NDSL and National assembly library using "Wuqinxi (오금희)" for clinical trials. Results In this study, Chinese Wuqinxi can be divided into 10 forms, 15 forms, 18 forms, 20 forms, 30 forms and 40 forms while Taiwanese Wuqinxi can be divided into classic form (125 forms) and short form (84 forms). Also we found some evidence that Wuqinxi played a certain role for health promotion. Conclusions These days Wuqinxi has a 8 different major forms and some of the exercises can be used as a preventive medical exercise to promote health for people.
