  • This paper describes a direct digital frequency synthesizer using the CORDIC algorithm, which can be implemented efficiently for a digital sinusoid synthesis. To optimize the hardware design parameters, we perform numerical analysis of the quantization effects for the CORDIC-based architecture. A pipelined architecture is employed to obtain a high data throughput,. We estimate and summarize its hardware costs for a variable accuracy, and a CORDIC-based architecture for 9 bit accuracy is emulated in FPGA.

  • 2span continuous Prestressed concrete girder railway bridges, span length 21m, 25m, 30m, 35m, that down-up method is applied and that designed to satisfy service load in accordance with design criteria of railway bridge can be dropped in their hight compared with existing simply supported prestressed concrete girder railway bridges. Continuous bridges result in guaranteeing safety against bending behavior by loading the practical railway moving load with each velocity. But the natural frequency of span length 21m is estimated not to satisfy recommended limitation of UIC 776-1R..

  • In this study the sound field on the surface of the top edge of noise barriers is actively minimized to enhance the shielding effect without increasing the hight of the barrier. First the results of a numerical study are shown; the sound field reduction in the far field due to a cylindrical active headpiece attached to a semi-infinite screen and the related control parameters are investigated. The results of a model experiment in an anechoic chamber and optimal control parameters for noise control on the railway side are shown and discussed.

  • With increasing interest in the reduction of cost for operation and maintenance of overhead catenary system, various methods of condition monitoring have been developed and used in with high-speed analysis and advanced image processing techniques. This study utilizes a high-speed camera as inspecting system to measure the wear, stagger, hight and arc extinguishing test of overhead catenary system. All measuring image were captured by a high speed CMOS camera with PCI express output, which can acquire up to 1000 frames per second with the resolution 1024 × 1280 pixels. Line type laser source with a power equal to 300 mW and the National Instrument LabVIEW (8.0) based on vision acquisition software have been used in application programming interface for image acquisition, display, and storage. The proposed high-speed camera system is finally applied to measure the overhead catenary system showing promising on-field applications

  • We studied the characteristics and fabricated the plano-convex refractive microlenses using the thermal reflow method. The exposed resist was resolved in a standard developing process. The remaining resist of circle pattern was melted in an oven 12$0^{\circ}C$ to 15$0^{\circ}C$. The shape of the melted resist microlenses is ruled by surface tension. Diameter and hight of the fabricated microlenses were 250${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ to 325${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and 15${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ to 22${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, respectively. The surface profile was calculated using data curve-fitting method with circle equation. The optical characteristics was analysed using optical simulation program.

  • Powder metallurgy process has many advantages such as hight efficientyof material, mass productivity and complex shape production with good mechanical properties. Among the powder forming processes, incremental forging allows the consolidation to be achieved with amaller force then those required by conventional forging. In particular the proces known as rotary forging is an unique and prodominant process known as rotary forging is an unique and prodominant process in which the working constraints approximate to those in normal closed die forging. This study is concerned with the powder compaction by rotary forging process. An experimental rotary forging press with 500kN load capacity has been developed, which is equippe dwith the rotational conicla die inclined to the central axis of the press at arbitrary angle. It is found that the highly densified P/M parts can be obtained by rotary forging process and the material properties are superior to those of the conventrional sintered parts. The detailedcomparision of the mechanical properties by rotary forging process with those by conventional process are given.

  • In recent time there are vigorous requirement for the use of thick steel plate in various industrial fields including shipbuilding industry. Application of TMCP steel plates, especially, is increase progressively. As a welding process for thick steel plate assembly high heat input welding method is used. However, HAZ softening of TMCP steel plates has a possibility to reduce the strength of welded joint. In this study, therefore, tensile strength of TMCP welds had softened HAZ was examined using numerical calculation and experiment.

  • The hight density sludge process (HDS) is a process that has been developed to achieve greatly increased sludge densities compared to those resulting from conventional pH modification systems. This study was carried out to apprehend variation of sludge properties and removal of metals during recycling of the sludge. The principal neutralization and settlement took place in neutralization beaker and mass cylinder. Sludge was recycled, as a volumetric ratios of 20%, 40% and 60%. The pH was controlled in neutralization tanks near 9.5. The average lime consumption rate was about 10g per L of AMD. The increment of sludge density was correlated with the volumetric ratios of recycled sludge.

A Nutrition Survey of Children Attending a Model Elementary School of Rural Type School Lunch Programs (경기도 용인군 농촌형 급식시범국민학교 아동의 영양실태 조사)

  • A nutrition survey of 209 children, 6 to 13 years old, in the namgok elemetnary school at Namsamyun, Yongin-gun, Kyonggi province, was undertaken in July of 1987, to investigate dietary and nutritional status. Mean value of hight was 98% of the Korean standard established by the Korean Standards Research Institute. However, in these terms, 7.7% of the subjects were proven to be short, mean value of weight was 94.5 of the Korean standard. However, in these terms, 9.3% of the subjects were proven to be moderatly underweight ; whereas 10.4% of the subjects were proven to be over weight. By the WHO criterion, 18.4% of the subjects showed lower figures of hemoglobin than anemic level of 12gm%/이. Mean urinary urea nitogen/creatinine ratio was 9.1$\pm$5.0 Carbohyudrate provided 68% of total energy intake ; protein accunted for 13% ; fat provided 19%. Energy intake was divided among breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks in a percentage ratio of 22 : 44 : 24 : 13. The survey clarified that the elementary school feeding largely supplemented the inadequate intake of these chidren at home.

  • The turbulent flow and heat transfer in the tunnel laminar flow type clean room is investigated by a numerical simulation. The model clean room is assumed to be a rectngular $5m\times3m$, in which a worktable of 0.75m hight, and 1.5m or 3m long at the floor. Major parameters are the inlet flow velocity, inlet hole size and worktable surface distance. The mean Nusselt number is increased by increasing Reynolds number and can be expressed by the correlation equation.
