  • 하이라이트 영상은 원본 영상의 중요한 장면들을 짧은 시간 안에 감상할 수 있게 도와준다. 특히나 경기 시간 긴 축구나 야구 그리고 e-스포츠의 시청자들에게 있어, 하이라이트 영상의 효용성은 더욱 증가한다. 하이라이트 영상 추출의 자동화로 방송사나 온라인 플랫폼은 비용 절감과 시간 절약의 이점을 얻을 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 스포츠 영상에서 자동으로 하이라이트 구간을 추출하는 모델을 제안한다. 제안하는 모델은 멀티 헤드 어텐션 매커니즘과 LSTM 네트워크의 결합으로 구성된다. 해당 매커니즘의 여러 헤드를 통해 어텐션을 다양한 관점에서 진행한다. 이로 인해 영상의 전체적인 맥락과 장면 간의 유기적 관계를 다양한 관점에서 파악할 수 있다. 또한 오디오와 이미지 정보를 함께 이용하여 모델을 학습한다. 학습한 모델의 평가는 e-스포츠 경기 영상을 이용하여 평가한다.

  • This review comprehensively explores the evolution, theoretical underpinnings, variations, and applications of diffusion models. Originating as a generative framework, diffusion models have rapidly ascended to the forefront of machine learning research, owing to their exceptional capability, stability, and versatility. We dissect the core principles driving diffusion processes, elucidating their mathematical foundations and the mechanisms by which they iteratively refine noise into structured data. We highlight pivotal advancements and the integration of auxiliary techniques that have significantly enhanced their efficiency and stability. Variants such as bridges that broaden the applicability of diffusion models to wider domains are introduced. We put special emphasis on the ability of diffusion models as a crucial foundation model, with modalities ranging from image, 3D assets, and video. The role of diffusion models as a general foundation model leads to its versatility in many of the downstream tasks such as solving inverse problems and image editing. Through this review, we aim to provide a thorough and accessible compendium for both newcomers and seasoned researchers in the field.

Secure Human Authentication with Graphical Passwords

  • Both alphanumeric and graphical password schemes are vulnerable to the shoulder-surfing attack. Even when authentication schemes are secure against a single shoulder-surfing attack round, they can be easily broken by intersection attacks, using multiple shoulder-surfing attacker records. To this end, in this paper we propose a graphical password-based authentication scheme to provide security against the intersection attack launched by an attacker who may record the user's screen, mouse clicks and keyboard input with the help of video recording devices and key logging software. We analyze our scheme's security under various threat models and show its high security guarantees. Various analysis, usability studies and comparison with the previous work highlight our scheme's practicality and merits.

Exploration of Discursive-Epistemic Mechanisms in High School Earth Science Lessons (고등학교 지구과학 수업의 담화적-인식적 기제 탐색)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore discursive-epistemic mechanisms in high school earth science lessons. A total of 11 video recordings of earth science lessons were collected from three inservice high school teachers. The video recordings were all transcribed and analyzed by employing the discourse analysis framework used in relevant previous studies. In analysis, we identified discursive-epistemic mechanisms as functional assemblies for fulfilling particular epistemic functions in the earth science lessons. The characteristics of these mechanisms were described according to their epistemic functions. The findings of the study were compared with those of previous studies to highlight the characteristics of discursive-epistemic mechanisms in the earth science classrooms. Analyses of middle school science lessons and of science lessons in alternative forms, as well as studies using extended research methods such as indepth interviews with teachers, were suggested as implications for future research.

The Effects of Gaming Motivations on Gaming Behaviors: A Self-Determination Theory Approach (게임사용 동기가 게임행동에 미치는 영향 : 자기결정성이론을 중심으로)

  • A growing body of research has focused on the negative effects of Internet gaming. This issue has become an increased public health concern in Korea. However, little is known regarding the positive effect of Internet gaming and its etiology. This study examined the effects of gaming motivations on gaming behaviors based on self-determination theory. Specifically, we investigated the associations of intrinsic and extrinsic gaming motivations with adaptive and maladaptive game uses. A cross-sectional data collected from a sample of 3,000 young adults using 2016 Korean Video Gaming Survey was analyzed. Measurement model analysis and structural equation modeling were conducted as primary analyses. The findings highlight the different effects of intrinsic and extrinsic motivations on gaming behaviors, such as adaptive and maladaptive game uses. Intrinsic motivations, such as experience-seeking and achievement-seeking, were associated with adaptive game use. Meanwhile, extrinsic motivations, such as sensation-seeking and monetary reward-seeking, were associated with maladaptive game use. The findings provide a better understanding of video gaming in light of both adaptive and maladaptive game uses. The implications for practice and policy were discussed.

  • This paper was studied in two ways with respect to the information received from the video signal separation technique of PPI Scop radar device. The proposed technique consists in generating an image signal through the video signal separation and synthesis, symbol generation, the residual image signal generation process. This technology can greatly improve the operating convenience with improved ease of discrimination, screen readability for the operator in analyzing radar information. The first proposed method was constructed for high-speed FPGA-based information processing systems for high speed operation stability of the system. The second proposed method was implemented intelligent algorithms and a software algorithm function curve associated resources.This was required to meet the constraints on the radar information, analysis system. Existing radar systems have not the frame data analysis unit image. However, this study was designed to image data stored in the frame-by-frame analysis of radar images with express information MPEG4 video. Key research content is to highlight the key observations expresses the target, the object-specific monitoring information to the positive image processing algorithm and the function curve delays. For high-definition video, high-speed to implement data analysis and expressing a variety of information was applied to the ARM Processor Support in Pro ASIC3.

Understanding User Motivations and Behavioral Process in Creating Video UGC: Focus on Theory of Implementation Intentions (Video UGC 제작 동기와 행위 과정에 관한 이해: 구현의도이론 (Theory of Implementation Intentions)의 적용을 중심으로)

  • UGC(User Generated Contents) is emerging as the center of e-business in the web 2.0 era. The trend reflects changing roles of users in production and consumption of contents on websites and helps us to understand new strategies of websites such as web portals and social network websites. Nowadays, we consume contents created by other non-professional users for both utilitarian (e.g., knowledge) and hedonic values (e.g., fun). Also, contents produced by ourselves (e.g., photo, video) are posted on websites so that our friends, family, and even the public can consume those contents. This means that non-professionals, who used to be passive audience in the past, are now creating contents and share their UGCs with others in the Web. Accessible media, tools, and applications have also reduced difficulty and complexity in the process of creating contents. Realizing that users create plenty of materials which are very interesting to other people, media companies (i.e., web portals and social networking websites) are adjusting their strategies and business models accordingly. Increased demand of UGC may lead to website visits which are the source of benefits from advertising. Therefore, they put more efforts into making their websites open platforms where UGCs can be created and shared among users without technical and methodological difficulties. Many websites have increasingly adopted new technologies such as RSS and openAPI. Some have even changed the structure of web pages so that UGC can be seen several times to more visitors. This mainstream of UGCs on websites indicates that acquiring more UGCs and supporting participating users have become important things to media companies. Although those companies need to understand why general users have shown increasing interest in creating and posting contents and what is important to them in the process of productions, few research results exist in this area to address these issues. Also, behavioral process in creating video UGCs has not been explored enough for the public to fully understand it. With a solid theoretical background (i.e., theory of implementation intentions), parts of our proposed research model mirror the process of user behaviors in creating video contents, which consist of intention to upload, intention to edit, edit, and upload. In addition, in order to explain how those behavioral intentions are developed, we investigated influences of antecedents from three motivational perspectives (i.e., intrinsic, editing software-oriented, and website's network effect-oriented). First, from the intrinsic motivation perspective, we studied the roles of self-expression, enjoyment, and social attention in forming intention to edit with preferred editing software or in forming intention to upload video contents to preferred websites. Second, we explored the roles of editing software for non-professionals to edit video contents, in terms of how it makes production process easier and how it is useful in the process. Finally, from the website characteristic-oriented perspective, we investigated the role of a website's network externality as an antecedent of users' intention to upload to preferred websites. The rationale is that posting UGCs on websites are basically social-oriented behaviors; thus, users prefer a website with the high level of network externality for contents uploading. This study adopted a longitudinal research design; we emailed recipients twice with different questionnaires. Guided by invitation email including a link to web survey page, respondents answered most of questions except edit and upload at the first survey. They were asked to provide information about UGC editing software they mainly used and preferred website to upload edited contents, and then asked to answer related questions. For example, before answering questions regarding network externality, they individually had to declare the name of the website to which they would be willing to upload. At the end of the first survey, we asked if they agreed to participate in the corresponding survey in a month. During twenty days, 333 complete responses were gathered in the first survey. One month later, we emailed those recipients to ask for participation in the second survey. 185 of the 333 recipients (about 56 percentages) answered in the second survey. Personalized questionnaires were provided for them to remind the names of editing software and website that they reported in the first survey. They answered the degree of editing with the software and the degree of uploading video contents to the website for the past one month. To all recipients of the two surveys, exchange tickets for books (about 5,000~10,000 Korean Won) were provided according to the frequency of participations. PLS analysis shows that user behaviors in creating video contents are well explained by the theory of implementation intentions. In fact, intention to upload significantly influences intention to edit in the process of accomplishing the goal behavior, upload. These relationships show the behavioral process that has been unclear in users' creating video contents for uploading and also highlight important roles of editing in the process. Regarding the intrinsic motivations, the results illustrated that users are likely to edit their own video contents in order to express their own intrinsic traits such as thoughts and feelings. Also, their intention to upload contents in preferred website is formed because they want to attract much attention from others through contents reflecting themselves. This result well corresponds to the roles of the website characteristic, namely, network externality. Based on the PLS results, the network effect of a website has significant influence on users' intention to upload to the preferred website. This indicates that users with social attention motivations are likely to upload their video UGCs to a website whose network size is big enough to realize their motivations easily. Finally, regarding editing software characteristic-oriented motivations, making exclusively-provided editing software more user-friendly (i.e., easy of use, usefulness) plays an important role in leading to users' intention to edit. Our research contributes to both academic scholars and professionals. For researchers, our results show that the theory of implementation intentions is well applied to the video UGC context and very useful to explain the relationship between implementation intentions and goal behaviors. With the theory, this study theoretically and empirically confirmed that editing is a different and important behavior from uploading behavior, and we tested the behavioral process of ordinary users in creating video UGCs, focusing on significant motivational factors in each step. In addition, parts of our research model are also rooted in the solid theoretical background such as the technology acceptance model and the theory of network externality to explain the effects of UGC-related motivations. For practitioners, our results suggest that media companies need to restructure their websites so that users' needs for social interaction through UGC (e.g., self-expression, social attention) are well met. Also, we emphasize strategic importance of the network size of websites in leading non-professionals to upload video contents to the websites. Those websites need to find a way to utilize the network effects for acquiring more UGCs. Finally, we suggest that some ways to improve editing software be considered as a way to increase edit behavior which is a very important process leading to UGC uploading.

MXF-based Broadcast Metadata Authoring and Browsing (MXF 기반 방송용 메타데이터 저작 및 브라우징)

  • This paper analyzes metadata workflow from creation to browsing, and discusses metadata authoring and browsing technology. Unlike usual multimedia authoring, broadcast metadata authoring means metadata editing synchronized with video. In order to make practical application of other systems, the result is in XML or MXF(Material eXchange Format) based on common metadata scheme. The MXF Browser developed with the consideration of broadcast metadata that is time-synchronized with AV content provides not only metadata authoring capability but also advanced content browsing services such as summary playback and highlight browsing based on metadata multi-track.

  • The subject of this study is user experience analysis for OTT mobile app services. Application service quality was quantitatively measured by utilizing KS-eSQI evaluation model from a service quality perspective. The purpose of this analysis is to analyze how service reuse and other people's intention to recommend services are affected by service quality. In addition, further analysis of user experience will qualitatively look at what efforts are needed to improve OTT service quality and provide a user-friendly environment. According to the survey, the higher the level of KS-eSQI service quality, the higher the reuse of OTT services and recommendation of others. In particular, the dimensions of primary services and unexpected additional services had a higher impact on customer loyalty and recommendation of others than in other industries. Moreover, the following three implications were found to improve app services from a customer experience perspective. First, images and video thumbnails that highlight the strength of the content they provide should be actively utilized. Second, it is necessary to provide service companies with evidence for data-based work recommendations. Third, it should provide a viewing environment in which users can respond more intelligently to the various situations and conditions when they actually watch.

The Influence of YouTube "Mukbang" Content Characteristics on Viewers' Satisfaction and Word-of-Mouth Intentions

  • Purpose: This study examines the impact of YouTube mukbang content characteristics on viewer satisfaction and word-of-mouth behavior. Drawing from theories in media psychology, consumer behavior, and communication studies, we investigate five key content characteristics: credibility, entertainment value, informativeness, visual appeal, and auditory quality. Research design, data and methodology: Using structural equation modeling with data from 206 mukbang viewers, we test hypothesized relationships between these characteristics, viewer satisfaction, and word-of-mouth behavior. Results: Research reveal that credibility and informativeness significantly and positively influence viewer satisfaction, while entertainment value, visual appeal, and auditory quality show no significant effect. Viewer satisfaction positively impacts word-of-mouth behavior. These findings challenge conventional assumptions about video content consumption and highlight the unique nature of mukbang viewing. Conclusions: The study contributes to digital content consumption literature by providing empirical evidence of factors influencing viewer engagement in the mukbang context. It offers practical insights for content creators, marketers, and platform developers, emphasizing the importance of informative and credible content in driving viewer satisfaction and promoting positive word-of-mouth. By extending established media theories to this emerging form of digital entertainment, our research paves the way for future studies. The study's limitations, including its cross-sectional nature and specific cultural context, suggest directions for future research.
