The purpose of this study was to validate self care outcomes included Nursing Outcomes Classification(NOC) developed by Johnson and Maas at the University of Iowa. A sample of 103 nurse experts working in university affiliated hospitals participated in this study. They were asked to rate indicators that examplified the outcomes on a scale of 1(indicator is not at all characteristic) to 5(indicator is very characteristic). A questionnaire with an adaptation of Fehring's methodology was used to establish the content validity of outcomes. The results were as follows : 1. All indicators were considered to be 'supporting' and no indicators were considered to be 'nonsupporting'. 2. 'Self care: Toileting' attained an OCV score of 0.884 and was the highest OCV score among self care outcomes. 3. 'Self care: Oral Hygiene' attained an OCV score of 0.756 and was the lowest OCV score among self care outcomes. 4. 'Self-care: Activities of Daily Living (ADL)' attained an OCV score of 0.845 and the highest indicator was 'eating'. 5. 'Self-care: Bathing' attained an OCV score of 0.810 and the highest indicator was 'washes body'. 6. 'Self-care: Dressing' attained an OCV score of 0.831 and the highest indicator was 'buttons clothing'. 7. 'Self-care: Eating' attained an OCV score of 0.815 and the highest indicator was 'chews food'. 8. 'Self-care: Grooming' attained an OCV score of 0.833 and the highest indicator was 'combs or brushes hair'. 9. 'Self-care: Hygiene' attained an OCV score of 0.823 and the highest indicator was 'washes hands'. 10. 'Self-care: Insrumental Activities of Daily Living(IADL)' attained an OCV score of 0.776 and the highest indicator was 'uses telephones'. 11. 'Self-care: Non-Parenteral Medication' attained an OCV score of 0.796 and the highest indicator was 'identifies medication'. 12. 'Self-care: Parenteral Medication attained an OCV score of 0.810 and the highest indicator were 'identifies medication' and 'administers medication correctly'. More outcomes need to be validated and outcomes sensitive to Korean culture need to be developed.

'Knowledge: Treatment Regimen' attained an OCV score of 0.816 and was the highest indicator was 'description of self-care responsibilities for emergency situations'. More outcomes need to be validated and outcomes sensitive to Korean culture need to be developed.
This study was conducted to investigate mean height, weight, food preference and satisfaction of 231 children in preschool in four different regions(Susung-ku, Jung-ku, Nam-ku, Dalseo-ku) of Taegu. Mean height of the children was increased by priority of Jung-ku, Dalseo-ku, Susung-ku and Nam-ku, and mean weight was of Jung-ku, Susung-ku, Dalseo-ku and Nam-ku. In food preference, boiled rice had the highest score of cooked rices in all of the different regions, jajangmyun had the highest score of noodles in Susung-ku, Jung-ku and Dalseo-ku. Cake had the hightest score of breads in Susung-ku and had significantly difference all the kind of other lesions. Songpyun had the highest score of rice cakes in all four regions. Jangjorim had the highest score of jorim foods in all four regions, but anchovy and green pepper jorim had the lowest. Toasted lavor and steamed chicken had the highest of toasted foods and steamed foods, respectively. Salads had the highest of muchimryu cooked potherbs and salads in all regions but kimchi and jangachi had low scores. Sujungkua had the lowest scores of beverages in all regions, but chocolate had the highest scores of cookies. In food intake satisfaction according to the regions, regularity, variety, hygiene, amount, and quantity of meal had the highest in dalseo-ku. Food temperature was highest in susung-ku. There was a direct correlation between type of housing and satisfaction in diversity of foods.

'Abuse Recovery: Physical' attained an OCV score of 0.767 and the highest indicator was 'resolution of physical health problem'. 7. 'Abuse Recovery: Sexual' attained an OCV score of 0.768 and the highest indicator was 'expression of confidence with gender identity'. More outcomes need to be validated and outcomes sensitive to Korean culture need to be developed.
The present study was performed to develop healthier sweeteners for brown rice Dasik with chia seed powder. The quality features and sensory evaluation were tested for brown rice Dasik with chia seed powder added with five different sweeteners and the results are as follows. The Dasik (DS) with isomalto-oligosaccharide and starch syrup received the highest scores on moisture content tests. The results from hardness tests identified the DS with agave syrup as the hardest, and the results from the adhesiveness test verified that the DS with agave syrup as well as the DS with starch syrup produce the most adhesive DS. The results of the springiness test show that the DS with starch syrup has higher springiness than other sweetners. The highest score for the chewiness and cohesiveness tests was the DS with starch syrup, while the DS with isomalto-oligosaccharide received the highest score on the gumminess test. The results of the chromaticity measurement test found that the DS with starch syrup showed the highest score of 'L' and the lowest score with fructo-oligosaccharide. In addition, the highest score of 'a' was DS with isomalto-oligosaccharide and the lowest score of 'b' was the DS with starch syrup. The results of sugar content displayed that the DS with starch syrup was the highest and the DS with fructo-oligosaccharide was the lowest score. The results of sensory evaluation verified that color did not influence evaluators' preference investigation. The results of sweet flavor test found that the DS with honey and the DS with agave syrup had the most preferred by participants, but there was no statistically significant difference among all five different sweeteners from the sweet taste test. Furthermore, the DS with agave syrup received the highest score while the DS with agave syrup scored the lowest from the hardness preference test. General preference evaluation identified the highest score with the addition of fructo-oligosaccharide and the lowest score with the addition of isomalto-oligosaccharide. Thus, the findings of the present study provide the meaningful results to demonstrate the DS with fructo-oligosaccharide is the most suitable sweetener to manufacture brown rice DS added by chia seed powder, and this result will help marketers with creating meaningful strategies and with developing similar products using chia seed powder.

For the purpose of improving the qualities of popcorn, potato, frozen hotdog and steamed egg, the effects of food height(0mm: HO, 5mm: H5, 10mm, 15mm: H15) for microwave cooking on physicochemical properties were investigated. In popcorn, weight loss was decreased as height increased while volume of popcorn was increased, which indicated that popcorn was poped very well as height increased. H10 showed the highest taste score in sensory evaluation. In potato, degree of gelatinization was increased as hight increased. H10 showed the highest overall acceptance score. In frozen hotdog, hardness of hotdog was decreased as hight increased and H15 showed the lowest hardness score (408.8g). In steamed egg, H5 showed the highest temperature and H10 showed the highest overall acceptance score. Physicochemical properties of food were changed by heating height of microwave heating.
Purpose: This study was to provide preliminary data for degree of self-leadership in pregnant women. Method: Participants were 148 pregnant women who visited 2 university hospitals in Taegu city. Data collection was done from April 16 to May 22, 2005 by self administered questionnaires. Results: The mean score for self-leadership of pregnant women was 3.27 and the thought self-leadership of subconcept was the highest score. The highest mean score in self-leadership was found in 'When I'm faced with a problem during the pregnancy period' and 'I tend to look for the opportunity it contains rather than drawbacks'. The lowest mean score in self-leadership was found in 'I often practice health management before I actually do them'. There was the highest positive correlation between self-leadership and natural reward. Conclusion: This study had highest positive correlation between self-leadership and natural reward. Considering this, self-leadership is an effective nursing strategy to promote natural reward. Further studies are necessary to identify the level of self-leadership in pregnant women.

The Study was carried out for the purpose of investigating the degree of perception in nursing activities. The data of this study were collected by self-reported questionnaire composed of 5 point rating scale measure the ideal level and the performance level of nurses activity. For the analysis of the data, percentage, MANOVA and ANOVA were 231 nurses in 3 general hospitals in Taegu. Data was administrated from October 4 through 14, 1994. The results were as follow : 1. The average mean score for the ideal level was 4.19 with a maximum possible score 5points. The highest mean score was Infection Controll and the lowest mean score was nutrition The average mean score for the performance level was 3.75, the highest mean score was fluid and electrolyte, the lowest mean score was nutrition. In the desirable nursing pergormance, Education was found the highest response above charge nurse, Medication was found the highest response above General nurse, environment was found the highest response above aide. 2. In the analysis of the relationship between the ideal level and th performance level, significant defference was found in age, position, career, marital status, occupation satisfaction, Nursing unit, parent. 3. In the analysis of the relationship between the ideal level and the performance level and the general characteristics, significant difference was found in marital status in the ideal level of direct nursing care, significant difference was found in age, position, marital status, nursing unit in the ideal level of indirect nursing care, significant difference was found in age, position, career, marital status, occupation satisfaction, nursing unit in the performance level of direct nursing care. significant difference was found in age (25-29) and above 30 career(4-7 and 7), occupation satisfaction(good and moderate, good and poor) in scheffe test of the performance level of direct nursing care.
Purpose : The purpose of study was 500 people who are not related to dentistry in order to survey image about dental technicians. Methods : The subjects were composed of 500 people who are not related in Daegu Metropolitan city. This study was done using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences 17.0 for Windows. As for the analysis methods, the study used the frequency analysis, percentage, mean, t-test, analysis of variance. Results : The score on the image of dental technicians declined in the order of occupational image(2.98), work image(3.14), personal image(3.26), social image(2.87). Conclusion : Dental technition research in order to image improvement and recognition, as the medical professional must construct the desirable dental technition image and recognition.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of sensory stimulation type on the learning of the elderly. The study implemented elderly verbal learning test by evenly dividing a total of 40 elderly people into auditory stimulation followed by visual stimulation group(AVG), visual stimulation followed by auditory stimulation group(VAG), simultaneous visual and auditory stimulation group(SG), and auditory stimulation group(AG). The result are as follows. SSG showed highest results in most of the test, followed by AVG, VAG, and AG. In particular, SG showed a statistically significant difference in immediate recall total score and short delay free recall score(p<.05). In the post-hoc test results of immediate recall total score, SG showed highest score with a statistical significance. AVG showed the second highest score, followed by VAG and AG and all showed a statistic significance(p<.05).In the post-hoc test results of short delay free recall score, SG and AVG showed a statistically significantly higher score than AG(p<.05). The results suggest that simultaneous stimulation of visual and auditory sense is more effective for improving the learning of the elderly people than visual stimulation followed by auditory stimulation or auditory stimulation followed by visual stimulation.
