This paper applies the technology-gap trade theory to explaining radical changes in the competitive positions of countries in world machine tool markets over the last three decades. It develops the notion that the innovation gaps in machine tools among countries led to the inter-country differences in the competitive performance in the sector as well as in its user sectors. Since competitive advantage largely depends on a capability to improve, create and apply technology to market competition, a higher innovative performance in one country than another is closely related to a higher innovative performance. A higher innovative performance in machine tools is also associated with a higher competitive performance of the large areas of its user sectors, due to sectoral interdependences and externalities generated by machine tool innovations. The results of empirical investigation through a panel data analysis show that the international gaps in machine tool innovations appeared to have a positive significant relationship with the differences in the export performance of both the machine tool sector and its user sector across countries.
Objectives : The purpose of this study is to examine the infection control practice and performance study on knowledge of dental hygienist between their knowledge and general characteristics. Methods : The subjects in this study are 305 dental hygienists who received local in-service education on December 10, 2011 and February 28, 2012. Results : The infection prevention knowledge and performance are higher as work experience is more (p<.05), as the education level is higher and when they have undergone in-service education (p<.001). Also these are higher when they are working in the dentist at the present (p<.001). The infection prevention practice are different with respect to ages (p<.01), work experience (p<.001), and the highest level of education (p<.01). There are correlations between the infection control practices and knowledge, performance and knowledge. As the practice level is higher, it is shown that the performance is higher (r=.049, p=.01). Conclusions : It would be necessary to develop the systematic and continuous program in infection control education and to build system which makes in-service training for dental hygienists mandatory. These could improve the level of infection prevention knowledge, practice and performance of dental hygienists to prevent the exposure to infection of the people.
The purpose of this study was to develop the model of consumer satisfaction with educational services in higher education on the basis of expectation-disconfirmatiom theory. The major findings were as follows : 1. The level of consumer satisfaction with educational services in higher education was low. Among the four dimensions of the educational services in higher education, the level of consumer satisfaction was the highest with 'education' and lowest with cost. 2. In the model of national university, the perceived performance of the core service, the disconfirmation of the core service, the perceived performance of the additional service, the disconfirmation of the additional service had a casual effect. The perceived performance of the additional service had the greatest casual effect among them. 3. In the model of private university, the perceived performance of the core service, the disconfirmation of the core service, the perceived performance of the additional service, the disconfirmation of the additional service had a casual effect. The perceived performance of the core service had the greatest casual effect among them.
This study aimed to find the related factors of nursing students' self-efficacy(including general self-efficacy and social self-efficacy), self-leadership and academic performance. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS 19.0. The general self-efficacy scores of the subjects in who're admitted according to aptitude, higher school grades, extroverts, and higher leadership were significantly higher than those who weren't. The social self-efficacy scores were significantly higher in younger ages, extroverts and higher leadership. Self-leadership was higher in those who're admitted according to aptitude. Academic performance was significantly higher in the females and higher school grades. Social self-efficacy was positively correlated with self-leadership, and negatively with academic performance. Explanation rate of sex, general self-efficacy and social self-efficacy on academic performance was 10.5%. These results can be applied as a basis for developing guidelines of nursing students' self-efficacy, self-leadership and academic performance after repeated studies.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the level of systemic disease-related knowledge among dental hygienists and analyze the effect on their job performance, empowerment, and satisfaction to provide basic data for expanding education on systemic diseases among dental hygienists and improving their job performance, empowerment and satisfaction. Methods: A survey was conducted among dental hygienists working in Busan and Gyeongsangnam-do region, South Korea, from October 27 to November 10, 2020, with a total of 245 questionnaires included in the final analysis. Results: Results of analysis revealed an average score for systemic disease-related knowledge among dental hygienists of 16.53±3.33 points and the higher the systemic disease-related knowledge, the higher the job performance, empowerment, and satisfaction. The higher the coronary artery disease knowledge and respiratory and infectious disease knowledge, the higher the job performance, and the higher the respiratory and infectious disease knowledge, the higher the job empowerment and job satisfaction. Conclusions: This study revealed that the higher dental hygienists' level of systemic disease-related knowledge, the higher their job performance, empowerment, and satisfaction. Therefore, this study suggests that dental hygienists' education on systemic disease-related knowledge should be expanded, and diverse systemic disease education programs should be developed for application in clinical practice.

This study attempted to reveal the influence of the exchange relationship (TMX) between Pilates leaders and members on job performance. Accordingly, from April 1 to July 12, 2023, 82 lines of couple data (164 people: 82 leaders, 82 members) were sampled and the following results were derived. First, the higher the leader exchange relationship, the higher the leader's job performance, and the higher the member exchange relationship, the higher the leader's job performance. Second, it can be seen that the higher the leader exchange relationship, the higher the member's job performance, and the higher the member exchange relationship, the higher the member's job performance. Therefore, it can be seen as a result of reflecting the systematic demand for exchange activities because the dependent relationship leads to active job participation through mutual relationships with colleagues.
This study evaluated the effect of diabetic group teaching programs in one university hospital in Seoul to predict when re-education would be needed. This study examined the patients’ knowledge at four points (before, directly after, three months and six months after the teaching program) and self-care performance related to diabetes twice (three months and six months after the teaching program). The subjects of the study were 24 admitted diabetic patients who participated in four-day teaching programs. Data were gathered from January to October, 1992 by means of an instrument developed from two diabetic knowledge tests which were equivalent in item differentiation and item discrimination coefficients. Collected data were analyzed by paired t-test, Pearson correlation, t and F tests. The results of study were as follows. 1. The analysis of the effect of the diabetic group teaching program and the duration of the effect of teaching. 1) The first hypothesis, that the diabetes knowledge score directly after the teaching program would be higher than before, was rejected (t=-1.40 ; p=.172). 2) The second hypothesis, that the diabetes knowledge score directly after teaching would be higher than three months later, was rejected(t= -4.27 ; p=.000). 3) The third hypothesis, that the diabetes knowledge score three months after teaching would be higher than six months later, was supported(t=2.43 : p=.020). 2. The relation of knowledge and self-care performance 1) The forth hypothesis, that the level of self-care performance related to diabetes three months later would be higher than six months later, was rejected( t=1.49 ; p=.146). 2) The fifth hypothesis, that the higher the diabetes knowledge, the higher the level of self-care performance, was rejected(r=.2086 ; p=.118). 3. The relation of diabetes knowledge and self-care performance according to demographic variables and structural variables of diabetes. 1) Diabetic knowledge scores varied according to the educational levels of the clients directly after the teaching. Three months after the teaching program higher educational levels and higher economic status were related to higher diabetic knowledge scores and men had higher knowledge scores than women. 2) Self-care performance scores of men were higher than those of women at three months and six months after the teaching program. 3) Before the diabetes teaching, the diabetic knowledge scores of subjects who had a diabetic patient in the family were higher than those who did not have patient in their family. Six months after the teaching, the diabetic knowledge scores of subjects who read the distributed books about diabetes were higher than those who did not read them. 4) No significance differences were found be-ween self-care performance and structural variables of dialetes. The results of this study indicated that the levels of diabetes knowledge and self-care performance incense of three months after the teaching program but decrease of six months. Reeducation would be needed between three and sir months. The investigator thinks that a study of the content and teaching methodology is needed to increase the education effect. The subjects want to hear patient histories of diabetic management. Group discussion would be helped after the teaching sessions.

Lately concerns about structure have been increased by advantages of floor impact noise, poilitical induction and changeability. Hence, Flat Plate Structure has been constructed increasingly. This study shows the comparison of the performance of sound insulation of Flat Plate Structure System and the existing Wall Structure. For this study, taking the same level organization of Daelim Architectural Environmental Research Center, I found the performance of sound insulation between the upper and lower floors about Wall Structure and Flat Plate Structure. Consequently, the performance of sound insulation between upper and lower floors of Flat Plate Structure was 3-5dB higher was approximately 3-5dB higher than one of Wall Structure. Especially, the performance of sound insulation on the upper floor was 1-3dB higher than on the lower floor. In addition, as the result of comparing radiation sound which radiates from the wall of lower floors with each structure system, Flat Plate Structure was about 4dB higher with Rw than Wall Structure. As we see totally, the performance of sound insulation of Flat Plate Structure is highter than one of the Wall Structure. It is 3-5dB higher and the main reason for this result depends on the existence of the wall which can radiate sound and nonexistence.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to confirm job satisfaction, job performance, and turnover intention according to dental hygienists' clinical assistance and preventive work. Methods: The collected data (N=380) were analyzed with independent t-tests and Pearson correlations using SPSS Statistics ver. 21.0 (IBM Co., Armonk, NY, USA). Results: The results indicated that the higher the overall job satisfaction of the dental hygienist, the higher their job performance and the lower their turnover intention (p<0.05). The results of the comparison of job satisfaction showed that preventive work was higher than dental hygienists' clinical assistance in all items except "I was pleased with work" (p<0.05). The results of the comparison of job performance showed that preventive work was higher than dental hygienists' clinical assistance in all items except "I have never complained, even if things go wrong" (p<0.05). The results of the comparison of turnover intention showed that clinical assistance was higher than dental hygienists' preventive work in all items (p<0.05). Conclusions: Our results demonstrate that job satisfaction, turnover intentions, and job performance have positive effects for preventive work. Therefore, dental clinics need to improve the actual environment so that dental hygienists can focus on preventive work.
