In this study, we compared the VacCAD and VacTran, commercial vacuum simulators, to investigate the simulation applicability and efficiency as vacuum simulation software. It was verified on reliability and simplicity of simulation modelling, and characteristics of the pump combinations, pumping down curves, and employed vacuum materials. First, usability of simulation schematics was estimated through the modeling tools and the overall simulation characteristics of each simulator were compared to evaluate the applicability in practice. Simulation reliability of each simulator was also probed by comparing the pumping performance characteristics of commercial high vacuum system models. In addition, the degree of tolerances on both simulators was also evaluated through pumping down analysis considering outgassing effect due to chamber material variations. The higher effectiveness and expediency of VacCAD than VacTran has been presented, and it was also expected that the utilization of VacTan in vacuum applications to be increased due to the higher availability of modelling variations.
The subject of this study is user experience analysis for OTT mobile app services. Application service quality was quantitatively measured by utilizing KS-eSQI evaluation model from a service quality perspective. The purpose of this analysis is to analyze how service reuse and other people's intention to recommend services are affected by service quality. In addition, further analysis of user experience will qualitatively look at what efforts are needed to improve OTT service quality and provide a user-friendly environment. According to the survey, the higher the level of KS-eSQI service quality, the higher the reuse of OTT services and recommendation of others. In particular, the dimensions of primary services and unexpected additional services had a higher impact on customer loyalty and recommendation of others than in other industries. Moreover, the following three implications were found to improve app services from a customer experience perspective. First, images and video thumbnails that highlight the strength of the content they provide should be actively utilized. Second, it is necessary to provide service companies with evidence for data-based work recommendations. Third, it should provide a viewing environment in which users can respond more intelligently to the various situations and conditions when they actually watch.
Biological nitrogen removal, using a continuous flow packed-bed reactor (CPBR) in a consecutive nitrification and denitrification process, was evaluated. An apparent decline in the nitrification efficiency coincided with the steady increase in $NH_4{^+}$-N load. Sustained nitrification efficiency was found to be higher at longer empty bed contact times (EBCTs). The relationship between the rate of alkalinity consumption and $NH_4{^+}$-N utilization ratio followed zero-order reaction kinetics. The heterotrophic denitrification rate at a carbon-tonitrogen (C/N) ratio of >4 was found to be >74%. This rate was higher by a factor of 8.5 or 8.9 for $NO_3{^-}$-N/volatile solids (VS)/day or $NO_3{^-}-N/m^3$ ceramic media/day, respectively, relative to the rates measured at a C/N ratio of 1.1. Autotrophic denitrification efficiencies were 80-90%. It corresponds to an average denitrification rate of 0.96 kg $NO_3{^-}-N/m^3$ ceramic media/day and a relevant average denitrification rate of 0.28 g $NO_3{^-}$-N/g VS/day, were also obtained. Results presented here also constitute the usability of an innovative porous sulfur ceramic media. This enhanced the dissolution rate of elemental sulfur via a higher contact surface area.

This study examines the differences in children's reading comprehension and satisfaction of storybooks according to a type of medium(paper and multimedia e-books). Six different storybooks were used and 85 children participated. Each child read a paper book and an e-book(both are different books). The study results showed that overall, the type of medium did not significantly affect the children's reading comprehension of all six storybooks: for two storybooks, some comprehension scores of paper books were higher than those of e-books, on the other hand, some comprehension scores of e-books were higher than those of paper books. Satisfaction scores of paper books are a little bit higher that those of e-books, although resulting in no statistically significant difference between two types. In addition, the study suggested that the amount of annual readings is positively related to improving children's composition ability and information acquisition ability. Finally, we proposed how to promote the use of e-books in the school library environments in terms of its usability and management policies.
This study was performed to evaluate the usability of Er:YAG laser for periodontal therapy. Forty dental root slabs ($5{\times}5{\times}2mm^3$) were prepared from human periodontally diseased extracted teeth and grouped into 4 groups: 1) control (root planing only), 2) root planing and irradiated with laser at 30mJ, 3) root planing and irradiated with laser at 60mJ, and 4) root planing and irradiated with laser at 100mJ. The root slabs were embedded in resin block before laser treatment. Er:YAG laser was irradiated under water irrigation with the tip held perpendicular to the root surface in contact mode. After Er:YAG laser irradiation or planing on the root surface, morphological changes have been observed under SEM, and the micro-hardness and Ca/P ratio were compared. 1. In the Control group, the root surface showed the directional change caused by root planing instrumentation, and the presence of smear layer, and no exposure of dentinal tubule was observed. Laser irradiated group showed surface changes with rough dentin surface of niche and depression and dentinal tubule exposure by the elimination of smear layer. 2. The micro-hardness of root surface in the laser irradiated group was higher than the control group. The higher energy output was applied, the higher micro-hardness on root surface was resulted. 3. The higher energy output was applied, the higher Ca/P ratio was observed. The higher Ca/P ratio in 60mJ group and 100mJ group was statistically significantly compared to the control group and the 30mJ group. These results suggest that Er:YAG laser irradiation on the periodontally diseased root surface could remove smear layer and increase the micro-hardness on root surface and Ca/P ratio which contribute to enhance the acid resistance of periodontally treated root surface.
Objectives : The paper seeks to delve into a study of smallpox, specifically as one of the most representative contagious diseases during the Chosun era and how it was treated during that time. The lack of traditional medical texts that deal with smallpox has led this paper to dive into Duchanggyeongheombang. Methods : Everything related to edition and copy, and the author was organized based on pre-existing studies. The copy that is assumed as the original copy was considered and studied. The book was compared to and reviewed with Donguibogam, and the differences between the book and Korean translation were given attention as well. Results : Park Jin-hee is assumed to have authored Duchanggyeongheombang, and it is like that was had access to texts published by the state, one of which includes Donguibogam. He utilized the periods with smallpox outbreaks as his frame of study and put together a series of treatment for different symptoms. To this, he attached various medical charts, and added Korean translation for higher usability. In his book, he placed emphasis on spleen and stomach, but when needed, he did not shy away from using cold and coolness herbs. Conclusions : Duchanggyeongheombang was influenced partially by Donguibogam, but the book was given new life through the author Park Jin-hee's edition. Medical charts were added to increase its usability, and Korean translation was provided for wider audience. Its scope of prescription is very wide, and it provided the reasonings behind its medical judgements based on actual clinical studies instead of being tied down to traditions or taboos.
Exchange of data between users and system is made by users' inputting their information into HTML input forms like when signing up in websites or buying in online shopping malls. If users make a mistake of inputting their information, the system gives an error message in order for users to correct their mistakes. Although ISO recommends immediate feedback, Bargas et al. gave a report that feedback in all after filling forms out is more usable than feedback one by one when inputting data online. We made a comparative experiment on usability under each case of feedback one by one and feedback in all. The result is immediate feedback is more usable and satisfactory. The analysis of data resulted that immediate feedback produced fewer error and gets higher subjective ratings.
Objective:The present study is intended to evaluate the usability of a console chair for a weapon locating radar by comparing with different kinds of chair design. Background: Console chairs need to be ergonomically designed to reduce physical workload of operators and improve mission capability; few studies have been reported which systematically evaluate usability of military console chairs. Method: Ergonomic design of a console chair, a bus seat, and an office chair was evaluated in terms of headrest, seatback, seatpan, armrest, and controller on a 7-point scale. Ten males in their 20s and 30s were recruited considering the demographic characteristics of console operators. Results: The satisfaction scores of the console chair for headrest, seatback, and seatpan were significantly higher than those of the bus seat (mean difference [MD] = 0.9) and office chair (MD = 1.3). Meanwhile, the satisfaction scores of the console chair for armrest and controller were significantly lower than those of the office chair (MD = -1.4) and bus seat (MD = -2.2). Conclusion: The armrest and controller of the console chair needs ergonomic improvements for better comfort. Application: The evaluation results of the console chair would be of use for ergonomic console chair design.
Rock produced in situ has been used as the road construction materials in consideration of economies. However, because sedimentary rock is rapidly weathered, it is hard to decide appropriateness of quality specifications. This study aims at evaluation of usability for sub-base of muddy stone produced in situ. Test results show that the abrasion ratio is fitted for specifications, but weight loss in 37.5$\sim$16mm after Los Angeles abrasion test shows 47% in muddy stone in comparison with 20$\sim$30% in gneiss and sandstone. The soundness of aggregate shows higher value in muddy stone than in gneiss and sandstone. The weight loss from accelerated weathering test due to freezing and drying show 58% in muddy stone in comparison with 308$\sim$21% gneiss and sandstone.
