유기-무기 하이브리드 압전 나노복합체 기반의 플렉서블 에너지 하베스터 제작 및 발전성능 평가 (Flexible Energy Harvester Made of Organic-Inorganic Hybrid Piezoelectric Nanocomposite)

  • A flexible piezoelectric energy harvester(f-PEH) that converts tiny mechanical and vibrational energy resources into electric signals without any restraints is drawing attention as a self-powered source to operate flexible electronic systems. In particular, the nanocomposites-based f-PEHs fabricated by a simple and low-cost spin-coating method show a mechanically stable and high output performance compared to only piezoelectric polymers or perovskite thin films. Here, the non-piezoelectric polymer matrix of the nanocomposite-based f-PEH is replaced by a P(VDF-TrFE) piezoelectric polymer to improve the output performance generated from the f-PEH. The piezoelectric hybrid nanocomposite is produced by distributing the perovskite PZT nanoparticles inside the piezoelectric elastomer; subsequently, the piezoelectric hybrid material is spin-coated onto a thin metal substrate to achieve a nanocomposite-based f-PEH. A fabricated energy device after a two-step poling process shows a maximum output voltage of 9.4 V and a current of 160 nA under repeated mechanical bending. Finite element analysis(FEA) simulation results support the experimental results.

Sensitivity Enhancement in Solution NMR via Photochemically Induced Dynamic Nuclear Polarization

  • Enhancements in NMR sensitivity have been the main driving force to extend the boundaries of NMR applications. Recently, techniques to shift the thermally populated nuclear spin states are employed to gain high NMR signals. Here, we introduce a technique called photochemically induced dynamic nuclear polarization (photo-CIDNP) and discuss its progresses in enhancing the solution-state NMR sensitivity.

The Band Edge Liminescence of SUrface Modified CdSe Nanocrystallites and Their Applications

  • In this paper, a brief overview of nanocrystallites of metal and semi-conductor materials will be presented, and then the novel synthetic method of high quality CdSe nanocrystallites developed by Bawendi group at MIT will be introduced . It will be shown that results of optical properties of surface modified nanocrystallites give the evidence that the luminescence of CdSe nanocrystallites is not originated from surface related trap states, but from intrinsic spin forbidden core states. Some of the interesting applications of CdSe nano-crystallites will also be discussed at the end.

  • This case study aims at investigating the factors which make venture firms successful. It analysedthree high-performance venture firms originated from the government-financed rese arch institute, the company and the university on the viewpoint of 'dynamic capability' theory. In this case study, technology integration capability and administrative innovation capability were identified as success factors of the three venture firms. The study also presented the role of the incubating organizations. Although incubating organizations supported technological and managerial resource-building of the entrepreneurs, there was not active interactive-learning between venture firms and incubating organizations after spin-off.
