Effect of Orifice Length on Particle Distribution in Particle-laden Jet (입자 부상 제트에서 오리피스 길이가 입자 분포에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구)

  • As a propellant of a high speed underwater vehicle, the hydro-reactive solid metal particles using seawater as a oxidizer maximizes its specific impulse when the solid metal particles and the seawater are uniformly mixed in the combustion chamber. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of injector geometry on the particle distribution of similarity point of view. For the purpose of this similarity of the mean velocity and particle number density along the radial direction was measured by Particle Image Velocimetry(PIV).

  • Vibrational analysis of slab tracks for HSR(High Speed Rail) is performed in order to find dynamic characteristics and to control noise and vibration for the tracks. Wheel-rail interactive force is included in the analysis by modelling the vehicle and track as an unsprung mass and elastically-supported-double-beam respectively, and both are assumed to be connected by the Hertzian spring. From this study, it has been found that vibration in the track and the force transmitted to the infrastructure could be reduced by controlling elasticity, mass and stiffness of the track supporting system appropriately.

  • This paper describes a hydrodynamic modelling study based on the Feldman's equation to predict the nonlinear and coupled maneuvering characteristics of high speed submarine. The hydrodynamic coefficients set is obtained from the modeling of the cross flow drag force and sail induced vorticity, and the captive model experiments(VPMM and RA test) results used to improved the accuracy. The results contained in this paper will be helpful to predict the behavior of tight turn maneuver and to improve the SOE(Safety Operational Envelope) analysis in case of emergency maneuver.

  • Long term measurement data on the bridge response caused by moving loads are fundamental ingredient to the development or improvement of the new bridge design. In addition, proper establishment of the systematic analysis and diagnosis together with the maintenance system become the essential procedure to the effective repair/reinforcement/retrofit of not only the high speed but also the conventional railway bridges. Therefore, the real time health monitoring system on the important railway bridges should be enhancing the proper maintenance of the structures. The main objective of this study is, therefore, to develop a monitoring device including Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) function and the emphasis is place on the easy and economic installation of the developed system in the field condition.

  • The Optimization has been performed to search an economical running pattern in the view point of trip time and energy consumption. Fuzzy control model have been applied to build the meta-model. To identify the structure and its parameters of a fuzzy model, fuzzy c-means clustering method and differential evolutionary scheme are utilized, respectively. As a result, two meta-models for trip time and energy consumption were constructed. The optimization to search an economical running pattern was achieved by differential evolutionary scheme. The result shows that the proposed methodology is very efficient and conveniently applicable to the operation of railway system.

  • In recent years, automobiles have evolved from simple transportation to convergence devices, and have combined the Internet of things, high-speed communications, and artificial intelligence technologies to provide people with social and cultural benefits. To provide services such as a smart traffic analysis, autonomous driving, and unmanned driving, automobiles applying these technologies are required to perform various types of sensing and image analyses for vehicle recognition and distance measurements. addition, there has been a rapid increase in the need to introduce an automotive Ethernet, that can provide a wide bandwidth to support. such technologies. In this article, we survey the latest trends in automotive Ethernet based automobiles and their security threats, and analyze the status and prospects of security technologies applied to cope with them.

  • In this paper, we propose the hardware and software of a test-bed of a hovering AUV (autonomous underwater vehicle). Test-bed to develop as the underwater robot for the hovering -type is planning to apply for marine resource development and exploration for deep sea. The RTU that controls a azimuth thruster and a vertical thruster of test-bed is a intergrated-type thruster. The main control unit that collects sensor's data and performs high-speed processing and controls a movement of test-bed is a underwater hybrid navigation system. Also it transfers position, posture, state information of test-bed to the host PC of user using a wireless communication. The host PC checks a test-bed in real time by using a realtime monitoring system that is implemented by LabVIEW.

  • In this paper, we apply the LMMSE(: Linear Minimum Mean Square Error) algorithm to overcome the Doppler effect according to the UAV(: Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) velocity in multipath fading channel environment. Simulation results show that the performance difference depends on the pilot arrangement and pattern, and we confirmed that the frame structure proposed in this paper can provide a stable secondary link for high speed UAV system.

  • In this paper, we describe a method for precisely measuring the abrasion of the railway using an image processing technique. To calculate the wear of the rails, we provided a method for accurately matching the standard rail profile data and the profile data acquired by the rail inspection vehicle. After the lens distortion correction and the perspective transformation of the measured profile data, we used ICP Algorithm for accurate profile data matching with the reference profile extracted from the standard rail drawing. We constructed the prototype of the Rail Profile Measurement System for High-speed Railway and the experimental result on the three type of the standard rail used in Korea showed the excellent profile matching accuracy within 0.1mm.

Effects of Vertical and Lateral Motion on Levitation Magnet System (상하 및 좌우진동이 부상용 전자석 시스템에 미치는영향)

  • Magnet core and rail of a magnetically levitated vehicle are usually made of highly conductive materials. Accordingly, eddy currents are induced in those members. Eddy currents often lead to a decrement of levitation and guidance force. This paper has calculated the decrement of both forces due to eddy current generated by magnet's vertical and lateral motion. U-shaped electromagnet and rail were chosen as amodel of 2D finite element analysis. Calculated results proved that both forces dropped significantly at high speed. Consequently, effects of eddy current should be considered in designing the magnet and control system.
