  • Si$_3$N$_4$-6wt%Y$_2$O$_3$-lwt%Al$_2$O$_3$was prepared by hot pressed and gas pressure sintering to investigate the effect of microstructure on erosion behaviors. Hardness and fracture toughness were measured with prepared specimens to study the high temperature erosion properties. A gas blast type erosion tester was used In examine erosion behavior of the specimens up to 700$^{\circ}C$. In case of GPS silicon nitride, the erosion rate increases up to 500$^{\circ}C$ and decreases over 500$^{\circ}C$. Maximum erosion rate was observed at 300$^{\circ}C$ for HP silicon nitride. The principal factors affecting the high temperature erosive wear of brittle materials are largely dependent on high temperature properties of grain boundaries.

약결합 방식의 GPS/INS 통합시스템 설계 (Design of a loosely-coupled GPS/INS integration system)

  • The CPS provides data with long-term stability independent of passed time and the INS provides high-rate data with short-term stability. By integrating these complementary systems, a highly accurate navigation system can be achieved. In this paper, a loosely-coupled GPS/INS integration system is designed. It is a simple structure and is easy to implement and preserves independent navigation capability of GPS and INS. The integration system consists of a NCU, an IMU, a GPS receiver, and a monitoring system. The navigation algorithm in the NCU is designed under the multi-tasking environment based on a real-time kernel system and the monitoring system is designed using the Visual C++. The integrated Kalman filter is designed as a feedback formed 15-state filter, in which the states are position errors, velocity errors, attitude errors and sensor bias errors. The van test result shows that the integrated system provides more accurate navigation solution then the inertial or the GPS-alone navigation system.

  • Inertial Navigation System(INS) provides short-term accurate navigation solution but its error grows with time due to integration characteristics. Meanwhile, Global Positioning System(GPS) provides long-term stable solution but it has poor error characteristics in high dynamic region. So for its synergistic relationship, an integrated INS/GPS systems has been widely used as an advanced navigation system. Generally, two kinds of integration method are used. One is loosely coupled mode which uses GPS-derived position and velocity as measurements in an integrated Kalman filter. The other is tightly coupled one which uses pseudorange and pseudorange rate as Kalman filter measurements. In this paper the system error models and observation models for two kinds of integrated systems are derived, respectively, and their performance are compared through Monte-Carlo simulations.

GPS TEC Fluctuations in the Low and High Latitudes During the 2015 St. Patrick's Day Storm

  • As a part of collaborative efforts to understand ionospheric irregularities, the Korea ionospheric scintillation sites (KISS) network has been built based on global positioning system (GPS) receivers with sampling rates higher than 1 Hz. We produce the rate of TEC index (ROTI) to represent GPS TEC fluctuations related to ionospheric irregularities. In the KISS network, two ground-based GPS sites at Kiruna (marker: KIRN; geographic: $67.9^{\circ}$ N, $21.4^{\circ}$ E; geomagnetic: $65.2^{\circ}$ N) and Chuuk (marker: CHUK; geographic: $7.5^{\circ}$ N, $151.9^{\circ}$ E; geomagnetic: $0.4^{\circ}$ N) were selected to evaluate the ROTI value for ionospheric irregularities during the occurrence of the 2015 St. Patrick's Day storm. The KIRN ROTI values in the aurora region appear to be generally much higher than the CHUK ROTI values in the EIA region. The CHUK ROTI values increased to ~0.5 TECU/min around UT=13:00 (LT=23:00) on March 16 in the quiet geomagnetic condition. On March 17, 2015, CHUK ROTI values more than 1.0 TECU/min were measured between UT=9:00 and 12:00 (LT=19:00 and 22:00) during the first main phase of the St. Patrick's Day storm. This may be due to ionospheric irregularities by increased pre-reversal enhancement (PRE) after sunset during the geomagnetic storm. Post-midnight, the CHUK ROTI showed two peaks of ~0.5 TECU/min and ~0.3 TECU/min near UT=15:00 (LT=01:00) and UT=18:00 (LT=04:00) at the second main phase. The KIRN site showed significant peaks of ROTI around geomagnetic latitude=$63.3^{\circ}$ N and MLT=15:40 on the same day. These can be explained by enhanced ionospheric irregularities in the auroral oval at the maximum of AE index

  • 현재 범세계위치결정체계(GPS)와 추측항법(DR), 기타 장치를 결합한 육상차량항법시스템이 사용되고 있다. 그리고 GPS는 육상항법시스템으로 널리 이용되고 있지만, 도심지 등에서 가시위성의 부족으로 차량의 동적 위치결정에 적절하지 못하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 GPS의 단점을 보완하기 위해 GPS/GLONASS 결합항법시스템을 이용하여 차량의 동적위치를 결정하였다. 실험결과 도심지에서 많은 장애물과 가시위성에도 불구하고 GLONASS 위성의 부가로 높은 자료획득률을 보여 GPS/GLONASS의 결합항법시스템으로 차량의 동적 위치를 연속적으로 획득할 수 있었다. 그러므로 GPS/GLONASS 결합항법시스템은 도로의 교통흐름의 통제와 효율적 관리에 응용할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

A Study on the Home-Range and Habitat Use of Spot-Billed Duck (Anas poecilorhyncha) in Spring

  • The spring home range and habitat use of the spot-billed duck in Korea were studied using GPS-mobile phone-based telemetry (WT-300). The study areas were Anseong-si, Seosan-si, Nonsan-si, and Sejong-si. Analysis was performed using minimum convex polygon (MCP) and kernel density estimation (KDE) spot-billed ducks had an average home range of 70.28 km2 (standard deviation [SD]=84.50, n=6), and a core habitat (50%) 2.66 km2 (SD=2.60, n=6), according to MCP and KDE, respectively. Wetlands (41.5%) and rice fields (35.7%) were highly used as habitats. The rice field use rate was high during the day, and the wetland utilization rate was high at night. Rice fields and wetlands were the primary habitats in spring.

가입요청 메시지를 사용하는 추적 가능한 부표 시스템의 설계 (Design of a Trackable Buoy System using Join Request Messages)

  • 부표는 항구나 해양의 위험물을 표시하기 위하여 체인에 의해 묶여진 부양물체이며, 크게 이동형과 고정형 부표로 나눌 수 있다. 해양 생태환경의 관찰과 연안지역 주변을 관찰 요구를 충족하기 위하여 스마트 부표들이 개발되었다. 스마트 부표들은 GPS, CDMA, ZigBee과 같은 무선 네트워크 시스템을 가진다. GPS 기술을 사용하면 부표의 위치나 주변 환경에 대한 추적이나 관찰을 할 수 있다. 그러나 고정 부표에 사용되는 GPS 시스템은 비싼 비용과 많은 양의 전력을 소모한다. 많은 부표들은 ZigBee를 사용하여 전력소비를 급격하게 줄인다. 본 논문에서는 적은 데이터 전송과 적은 전력소모를 가진 추적가능 부표 시스템을 소개한다. 제안하는 프로토콜은 시스템의 변경없이 비정상적인 움직임을 찾고 추적 가능한 정보 모을 수 있는 장점을 가진다. 2개의 추가적인 비트와 가입요청 메시지들이 추적 가능한 부표시스템에 사용된다. 제안하는 프로토콜은 페트리넷으로 모델링하였고 도달 가능성을 증명한다.

시뮬레이션 기법을 이용한 기존 BNR공정의 C/N비 변화에 따른 운전조건 최적화 (Optimization of Operational Conditions of Existing BNR Process with Various C/N Ratio using Simulation Method)

  • Numerous sets of simulation were conducted in order to find out the optimum operational conditions of the existing BNR process using GPS-X program. The model of ASM3 and modified Bio-P module were applied for simulations. From the result of this study, effluent quality was closely related with the step feeding rate and influent C/N ratio. The effluent TN concentration seemed to be significantly affected by step feeding rate at the low C/N condition. But at the high C/N condition, the effluent concentration of TP rather than that of TN was affected by the control of step feeding rate.

인터넷 기반 GPS 데이터 처리 서비스에 관한 연구 (Development of an Internet Based GPS Data Processing Service)

  • GPS 수신기 기술의 발전으로 인해 관련지식이 없더라도 데이터를 쉽게 획득할 수 있게 되었다. 하지만 매우 정확한 좌표 획득을 위해서는 데이터 후처리 과정이 추가적으로 필요한데 이 과정은 고도의 전문성을 요구한다. 또한 일선 현장에서는 시스템 여건상 후처리 소프트웨어를 가동할 수없는 경우가 대부분이다. 따라서 본 연구는 이를 개선할 수 있는 인터넷 기반 GPS 데이터 처리 서비스를 개발하는데 목적을 두었다. 후처리 소프트웨어는 GIPSY를 선택했는데 정밀궤도력을 이용해서 이중차분 없이 단시간 내 위치정보 획득이 가능한 장점이 있다. 리눅스(Linux) 환경에서 작동하는 GIPSY와 웹서버의 연동을 통해서 사용자가 웹상에 원시 데이터를 전송하면 서버에서 자동으로 후처리가 실행되고 사용자에게 화면상으로 결과를 출력하는 구조로 설계하였다. 본 연구에서 구축한 서비스를 테스트한 결과 이중주파수 수신기를 이용하여 30초 간격으로 24시간 동안 수집한 데이터를 서버에 전송하고 처리하는데 총 30초 정도가 소요되어 매우 신속한 데이터 처리가 가능함을 알 수 있었다.

Seamless 이동 멀티미디어 서비스를 위한 핸드오버 기법 (A Hand-over Scheme for Seamless Mobile Multimedia Communication Services)

  • The next generation mobile multimedia network is expected to provide higher-rate multimedia communication services to versatile mobile terminals moving in even higher speed. For achieving more efficient reusability of scarce radio resources and thereby accommodating more user population in this network, the smaller cell such as micro or pico cell structure is used. More efficient and faster hand-over schemes are necessary to prevent the degradation of QoS of multimedia services caused by hand-over processing delay and packet loss during frequent hand-over. This paper proposes a faster and more effective hand-over scheme for high-rate multimedia services in the future mobile multimedia networks. by utilizing the GPS information on the position of the mobile terminal and its estimated moving directions. The simulation results show that our proposed method provides a better performance than the conventional method.
