  • PLS 2-GeV linac has 11 sets of high power klystron-modulator system as a main RF source for the beam acceleration. The modulators can provide 200-MW peak pulsed power(400-kV, 500-A) with a pulse width of $7.5{\mu}s$(ESW), a maximum pulse repetition rate of 120-Hz at the full power level. The DC power supply provides a 25-kV, 7-Adc and the charging system consists of a charging inductor, charging capacitor, and the diode for reverse current protection. The charged PFN voltage by a LC resonant charging method has two times of the DC high voltage and the pulsed power is delivered to the load by a thyratron switch. To reduced the press of high voltage lit thyratron switch, the command charging is the best method. In this article, the high voltage switch for the command charging method is tested to the start work and the system is presented with the experiment results of the trigger and operational characteristics.

  • This paper a new simple PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) signal generation based on modified relaxation oscillator is introduced. Its advantages of the proposed principle are that the precise PWM signal can be easily achieved with a high frequency range up to several megahertz and a low-voltage power supply. The proposed circuit can accept either voltage or current modulating signal. It is very suitable for developing into Integrated Circuits (ICs) form in communication applications. The simulation and experimental results are also depicted, they shown good agreement with theoretical anticipation.

  • This paper proposes a new series-connected diode rectifier which draws sinusoidal input currents. The proposed rectifier system is configured by adding an auxiliary circuit to the conventional 12-pulse series-connected diode rectifier and employing a current injection technique. A low kVA (0.02Po (PU) ) active current source injects a triangular current results in near sinusoidal input current from the utility with less than 1% THD. The resulting system is suitable for high voltage and high power applications. Experimental results is provided from a 220VA rectifier system.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of High Voltage Pulsed Current on pH in the healing wound bed. Seven adults, four males and three females, were studied with a total of fifty-five viable treatment sessions. Using a Cardy Digital pH meter, we measured the pH in the wound bed following saline rinse both prior to treatment and after a forty-five minute treatment. Analysis of all viable records(n=54) did not show a significant change in pH(p=0.82). The mean pH change in NoN-Smokers(-0.14) was more acidic when compared to the mean pH change in smokers(0.27) which was more alkaline.

  • Conventional backlight for liquid crystal display (LCD) uses mercury which leads to environmental pollution. In this study, characteristics of AC coplanar type mercury-free plasma flat lamp have been studied. Pollution-free Xe-He is adopted as a discharge gas system. Since the Xe gas has a lower efficiency in generating vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) than mercury, the improvement of luminance and luminous efficiency in the Xe gas system is very important. The electrode, dielectric, and phosphor layers constituting lamp are formed on the bottom glass by the screen printing method. The effects of pulse shape, on-time, and pulse frequency on the luminance and luminous efficiency have been examined. For Xe(5%)-He gas, the lamp exhibits higher efficiency with sharper pulse shape, higher peak voltage, and shorter pulse on-time (up to 2 $\mu\textrm{s}$). Higher efficiency and lower consumption of power were obtained at 30 kHz than at 60 kHz. The collision of ion to bottom electrodes is a dominant factor to raise the lamp temperature. Therefore the high voltage and low current discharge system is necessary for reduction of the lamp temperature as well as for enhancement of the luminous efficiency.

  • A technique to suppress the low frequency ripple voltage of the DC output ${\gamma}$oltage in three-phase buck d diode rectifiers is presented in this paper. The proposed pulse frequency modulation method is employed to r regulate the output voltage of the buck diode rectifiers and guarantee zero-current switching of the switch over the Vvide load range. The pulse frequency control method used in tIns paper shows generally good p performance such as low THD of the input line current and unity power factor. In addition, the pulse f freιluency method can be effectively used to suppress the low frequency voltage ripple appeared in the dc output voltage. The proposed technique illustrates its validity and effectiveness through the respective s simulations and experiments.

  • A high-performance rectifier is introduced in this study. The proposed rectifier combines the conventional pulse width modulation, soft commutation, and instantaneously average line current control techniques to promote circuit performance. The voltage stresses of the main switches in the rectifier are lower than those in conventional rectifier topologies. Moreover, conduction losses of switches in the rectifier are certainly lower than those in conventional rectifier topologies because the power current flow path when the main switches are turned on includes two main power semiconductors and the power current flow path when the main switches are turned off includes one main power semiconductor. The rectifier also adopts a ZCS-PWM auxiliary circuit to derive the ZCS function for power semiconductors. Thus, the problem of switching losses and EMI can be improved. In the control strategy, the controller uses the average current control mode to achieve fixed-frequency current control with stability and low distortion. A prototype has been implemented in the laboratory to verify circuit theory.

  • In this paper, MOS-triggered silicon-controlled rectifier (SCR)-based electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection circuits for mobile application in 3.3 V I/O and SCR-based ESD protection circuits with floating N+/P+ diffusion regions for inverter and light-emitting diode driver applications in 20 V power clamps were designed. The breakdown voltage is induced by a grounded-gate NMOS (ggNMOS) in the MOS-triggered SCR-based ESD protection circuit for 3.3 V I/O. This lowers the breakdown voltage of the SCR by providing a trigger current to the P-well of the SCR. However, the operation resistance is increased compared to SCR, because additional diffusion regions increase the overall resistance of the protection circuit. To overcome this problem, the number of ggNMOS fingers was increased. The ESD protection circuit for the power clamp application at 20 V had a breakdown voltage of 23 V; the product of a high holding voltage by the N+/P+ floating diffusion region. The trigger voltage was improved by the partial insertion of a P-body to narrow the gap between the trigger and holding voltages. The ESD protection circuits for low- and high-voltage applications were designed using $0.18{\mu}m$ Bipolar-CMOS-DMOS technology, with $100{\mu}m$ width. Electrical characteristics and robustness are analyzed by a transmission line pulse measurement and an ESD pulse generator (ESS-6008).
