A Non-isolated DC-DC Converter with High Step-up Ratio and Wide ZVS Range (고승압비와 넓은 ZVS 영역을 갖는 비절연 DC-DC 컨버터)

  • In the conventional boost converter, the actual duty cycle is limited as the output voltage increases due to increased voltage and current stress of the switch and diode and voltage surge caused by diode reverse recovery. In this paper a new non-isolated boost converter suitable for high gain applications is proposed. The proposed converter has voltage gain of around 6 when the duty cycle is 0.5. Since ZVS is achieved under CCM, the proposed converter has wide ZVS range. Also, voltage ratings of switch and diode are the same as one third of output voltage, and ratings of input and output passive components are reduced due to the interleaving. In addition voltage surge caused by diode reverse recovery is negligible due to ZCS turn-off of diodes. Operating principle of the proposed converter is described and validated through theoretical analysis, simulation and experiment.

The Effect of Piezoelectric Properties on the Output Properties of Step-down Multilayer Piezoelectric Transformer (압전특성이 강압용 적층 압전변압기의 출력특성에 미치는 영향)

  • Multilayer step down piezoelectric transformers were manufactured using PZN-PMN-PZT and PMN-PNN-PZT ceramics respectively. Sintering temperature of the ceramics was $940^{\circ}C$. And then. their electrical properties were investigated according to the variations of frequency and load resistance. The voltage step-up ratio of multilayer piezoelectric transformer showed the maximum values in the vicinity of 69 and 71kHz, respectively. At the load resistance of $100{\Omega}$, the piezoelectric transformers showed the temperature rises of about 21 and $18^{\circ}C$ at the output power of 15W and 18W, respectively. At the transformer with high effective electromechanical coupling factor($k_{eff}$), lower temperature increase was appeared.

Electrical Properties of High Power Step Down Multilayer Piezoelectric Transformer using Low Temperature Sintering PMN-PNN-PZT Ceramics (저온소결 PMN-PNN-PZT 세라믹스를 이용한 고출력 강압용 적층 압전변압기의 전기적 특성)

  • In this study, multilayer piezoelectric transformer was manufactured using the PMN-PNN-PZT ceramic and then the electrical characteristics were investigated according to the variations of frequency and load resistance. The voltage step-up ratio of multilayer piezoelectric transformer showed the maximum value at the vicinity of 75 kHz and increased according to the increase of load resistance. When the output impedance coincided with the load resistance, the multilayer piezoelectric transformer showed the temperature rise of less than $20^{\circ}C$ at the output power of 20 W. As the results, the multilayer piezoelectric transformer manufactured at low co-firing temperature of $940^{\circ}C$ using PMN-PNN-PZT ceramics could be stably driven as the step-down transformers.

  • The piezoelectric material for piezoelectric transformer needs the high electromechanical coupling factor( $k_{p}$) the piezoelectric constant( $d_{33}$) and the mechanical quality factor( $Q_{m}$)in order to obtain high voltage step-up ratio and low temperature rising. In this study the piezoelectric transformers were fabricated using Pb[$Zr_{0.45}$/ $Ti_{0}$48//L $u_{0.02}$(M $n_{1}$3//S $b_{2}$3/)$_{0.05}$$O_3$(PMS-PZT) and Pb[Z $r_{0.25}$/ $Ti_{0.375}$(M $g_{1}$3//N $b_{2}$3/)$_{0.375}$$O_3$+0.5wt%Mn $O_2$(PMN-PZT) ceramics. The piezoelectric properties of PMS-PZT and PMN-PZT were measured. The voltage set-up ratios of the piezoelectric transformers using PMS-PZT and PMN-PZT were the value of 15, 20 respectively under 100$_{KΩ}$ in Rosen type transformer.r.ormer.r.r.r.r.r.r.

  • We have designed and fabricated a low power and high linearity up down convertor for wireless repeaters using $0.35{\mu}m$ SiGe Bipolar CMOS technology. Repeater is composed of a wideband up/down converting mixer, programmable gain amplifiers (PGA), input buffer, LO buffer, filter driver amplifier and integer-N phase locked loop (PLL). As of the measurement results, OIP3 of the down conversion mixer and up conversion mixer are 32 dBm and 17.8 dBm, respectively. The total dynamic gain range is 31 dB with 1 dB gain step resolution. The adjacent channel leakage ratio (ACLR) is 59.9 dBc. The total power consumption is 240 mA at 3.3 V.

Nano-Silica effect on the physicomechanical properties of geopolymer composites

  • Addition of nano-$SiO_2$ (NS) to geopolymer composites has been studied through measurement of compressive strengths, FTIR and XRD analysis. Alumino-silicate materials are coarse aggregate included waste concrete and demolished walls with its cementing binder, cement kiln dust (CKD) used and can possess a pronouncing activation for the geopolymer reaction resulting from the high alkali contents within. Materials prepared at water/binder ratios in a range of 0.30: 0.40 under curing of $40^{\circ}C$ and 100% Relative Humidity (R.H.), while the used activator is sodium hydroxide in the ratio of 2 wt. %. First, CKD is added in the ratio from 10 up to 50 wt., %, and the demolished walls was varied depending on the used CKD content, while using constant ratio of waste concrete (40 wt., %). Second step, depending on the optimum CKD ratio resulted from the first one (40 wt. %), so the control geopolymer mix composed of cement kiln dust, demolished walls and waste concrete in the ratio (40:20:40, wt %). Nano-silica partially replaced waste concrete by 1 up to 8%. Results indicated that, compressive strengths of geopolymer mixes incorporating nano-silica were obviously higher than those control one, especially at early ages and specially with 3%NS.

  • In this paper, the modular line-connected photovoltaic PCS (photovoltaic power conditioning system) is proposed. A step-up DC-DC converter using a active-clamp circuit and a dual series-resonant rectifier is proposed to achieve a high efficiency and a high input-output voltage ratio efficiently. An IncCond (incremental conductance) MPPT (maximum power point tracking) algorithm that improves MPPT characteristic is used. The PV module current is estimated without using a DC current sensor. By control a inverter using a linearized output current controller, a unity power factor is achieved. All algorithms and controllers are implemented on a single-chip microcontroller and the superiority of the proposed DC-DC converter and controllers is proved by experiments.

Electrical Characteristics of the High Power Piezoelectric transformer Using PSN-PZT system ceramics (PSN-PZT계 세라믹스를 이용한 고출력 압전 트랜스포머의 전기적 특성)

  • In this paper we investigated the structural dielectric and piezoelectric properties of 0.03Pb(Sb$\_$1/2//Nb$\_$1/2/)-0.97Pb(Zr$\_$0.495//Ti$\_$0.505/)O$_3$+0.5 wt% excess PbO + wt% MnO(X=0, 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7) ceramics to develop the high-power piezoelectric transformer. The piezoelectric transformers with dimension of 27.5$\times$27.5$\times$2.5[mm$^3$]were fabricated and their electrical properties were measured. Maxima of piezoelectric properties such as electro-mechanical coupling factor of 0.534 and mechanical quality factor of 1487 were obtained for the PSN-PZT with 0.3wt% MnO. voltage step-up ratios of piezoelectric transformers at 500[Ω]and no load were 0.78, 12.82, respectively. The maximum efficiency of piezoelectric transformer was 98.6% at 800[Ω]. While the 14W fluorescent lamp were driven by the piezoelectric transformer for more than 20[min], increment of temperature in the piezoelectric transformer was 7[$\^{C}$].

  • Studies of the numerical characteristics of implicit upwind schemes, such as upwind ADI, Line Gauss-Seidel(LGS) and Point Gauss-Seidel(LU) algorithms, for preconditioned Navier-Stokes equations ate performed. All the algorithms are expressed in approximate factorization form and Von Neumann stability analysis and convergence studies are made. Preconditioning is applied for efficient convergence at low Mach numbers and low Reynolds numbers. For high aspect ratio computations, the ADI and LGS algorithms show efficient and uniform convergence up to moderate aspect ratio if we adopt viscous preconditioning based on min- CFL/max- VNN time-step definition. The LU algorithm, on the other hand, shows serious deterioration in convergence rate as the grid aspect ratio increases. Computations for practical applications also verify these results.

  • 직류 100 kV 까지 고전압의 국가 측정표준을 확립하기 위하여 저항형 분압기의 비율을 정밀 측정하는 방법을 고안하였다. 일반적으로 저항형 분압기의 비율은 사용 전압에 따라 변하므로 저항과 전압비율을 동시에 측정하는 기술이 요구된다. 본 발표에서는 고안된 binary step-up 방법의 원리를 설명하고 실제 적용 시 예상되는 불확도를 계산하고자 한다.
