  • The EV electric vehicle market is growing rapidly worldwide. An electric vehicle means a vehicle that uses energy charged through an electricity source as power. The precision of the press is important to mass-produce the drive motor, which is a key component of the electric vehicle. The size of the driving motor is increasing, and The size of the mold is also growing. In this study, the precision of large high-speed presses for mass production of driving motors was measured. A study was conducted on the measurement method of press and the analysis of measurement data. A drive motor is a component that transmits power by converting electrical energy into kinetic energy. EV driven motors have key material properties to improve efficiency. The material properties are the thickness of the material. As a method for improving performance, use a 0.2mm thin steel sheet. Mold is also becoming larger. As the mold grows, the size of the high-speed press for mass production of the driving motor is also increasing. Also, the precision of the press is the most important because it uses a thin iron plate material. So the importance of large press precision is being emphasized.   • There are screw, reciprocating and turbo compressor by structure in an air compressor, essential equipment on he industrial spot. Resently it is wide that the range of turbo compressor's use in gradual, turbo compressor needs high speed rotation of impeller in structure, high rated gearbox and conventional induction motor. This mechanical system increased the moment of inertia and mechanical friction loss. Resently the study of turbo compressor applied super high speed motor and drive, removing gearbox made its size small and mechanical friction loss minimum. In this study we tried to develope variable super high speed motor drive systems for 150Hp, 70,000rpm drect drive Turbo compressor. The result of study is applied to a 150Hp direct turbo compressor and makes it goods.

  • This paper presents zero crossing point(ZCP) estimation methods considering discretization error for a high speed brushless DC(BLDC) motor drive. The ZCP is estimated by detecting the change of back-EMF polarity for the BLDC sensorless drive, and the discretization error exist on the estimated ZCP. The discretization error of the ZCP is a cause of the delay of a commutation timing of current and increment of a current ripple factor. Besides a delay of a ZCP estimation brings on the limitation of a speed range for the BLDC sensorless drive. The compensation method based on the error analysis with probability theory for reducing the effects of the discretization error of the ZCP is proposed. Also a ZCP estimation method according to the Back-EMF patterns is proposed to widen the speed range for the BLDC sensorless drive. The proposed methods are verified by the experiment.

A High-Performance Induction Motor Drive with 2DOF I-PD Model­Following Speed Controller

  • A robust controller that combines the merits of the feed-back, feed-forward and model-following control for induction motor drives utilizing field orientation control is designed in this paper. The proposed controller is a two-degrees-of­freedom (2DOF) integral plus proportional & rate feedback (I-PD) speed controller combined with a model-following (2DOF I-PD MFC) speed controller. A systematic mathematical procedure is derived to find the parameters of the 2DOF I-PD MFC speed controller according to certain specifications for the drive system. Initially, we start with the I-PD feed­back controller design, then we add the feed-forward controller. These two controllers combine to form the 2DOF I-PD speed controller. To realize high dynamic performance for disturbance rejection and set point tracking characterisitics, a MFC controller is designed and added to the 2DOF I-PD controller. This combination is called a 2DOF I-PD MFC speed controller. We then study the effect of the 2DOF I-PD MFC speed controller on the performance of the drive system under different operating conditions. A computer simulation is also run to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller. The results verify that the proposed 2DOF I-PD MFC controller is more accurate and more reliable in the presence of load disturbance and motor parameter variations than a 2DOF I-PD controller without a MFC. Also, the proposed controller grants rapid and accurate responses to the reference model, regardless of whether a load disturbance is imposed or the induction machine parameters vary.

  • There has been lower the tilt margin by the increase of coma aberration due to the reduction of wave-length and the increase of numerical aperture for high density recording. The RF signal degradation is increased as the decrease of tilt margin. To compensate the tilt margin, the optical pick-up actuator for high-speed CD/DVD re-writable system should be able to drive the radial-tilt motion. We announce that the 3-axis drive actuator for high-speed CD/DVD rewritable system. And what was more, the DC/AC sensitivities of this actuator are suitable fur the low-speed playability, the high-speed readability and the high-speed rewritability.

High-Speed Characteristics of Plasma Display Panel using Priming Overlapping with Display Drive Method (표시기간 중첩 프라이밍 구동기술에 의한 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 고속구동특성)

  • A new high-speed drive method for the plasma display panel is proposed. In this method, the address period is inserted for the rest period of the sustain pulses and the priming pulse is applied on the entire panel at the same time overlapping with the sustain period. The ramp shaped priming pulse can be made with a simple drive circuit in this technology and the stable sustain discharge can be induced even by a narrow scan pulse in help of the space charge generated from the address discharge. From the experiments, it is ascertained that the priming pulse hardly influences the sustain discharge. Moreover, the voltage margin of the sustain discharge is almost constant though that of the address discharge broadens with narrowing the scan pulse width. And, if the time interval between the scan pulse and the sustain pulse is within $6{\mu}s$, the voltage margin of the address and the sustain discharges are unaffected though the applied position of the scan pulse is changed. High-speed driving with the address pulse of $0.7{\mu}s$ width was achieved and the address voltage margin of 20V and the sustain voltage margin of 10V were obtained.

Discharge Characteristics of Narrow Width Pulse Addressing for the High-Speed Driving of Plasma Display Panels (플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 고속 구동을 위한 세폭 펄스 어드레스 방전특성)

  • This study relates to a new high-speed drive method for the full-HD PDP with 1080 horizontal scanning lines. The characteristics of the new drive method is evaluated considering the characteristics of the display discharge by the high-speed addressing. In this drive method, if the width of the address pulse narrows, the relati0[V]e discharge strength and the discharge time lag of the first display discharge are received the influence of it. Though the change in the applied position of the address pulse is unrelated to the discharge strength, it influences at the discharge time lag. However, the stable display discharges can be induced regardless of the address pulse position and width if the address pulse position is within [$6{\mu}s$] and the width is up to [$0.7{\mu}s$]. From the experiments, it has been understood that the high-speed drive technique with the address pulse of narrow width is sensitively influenced by the space charge because of the insufficiency of wall charge.

  • This paper show the designing, manufacturing and performance test procedure of a high speed, fixed ratio planetary roller type traction drive as a speed reducer. The arrangement and size design for sun roller, planetary rollers and ring roller are carried out and a proper pre-load mechanism are adopted. To improve transmitting power capacity and endurance limit, nitro-carburized bearing steel and a synthetic traction oil are used. The manufactured and assembled traction drive operated successfully under unloaded conditions. Further tests for various load and speed conditions are executing now to improve the performance of the traction drive.

  • This paper presents an application of SRM drive for LSEV(Low Speed Electric Vehicle). In this paper, a 5〔㎾〕 SRM for a traction of a LSEV is to design and investigate the characteristics of the drive system. The main design parameters and control strategy are given. In the control method, a current control, for the soft-starting technique at a starting operation, is adopted. In the high speed range, an angle control technique is implemented, for a high efficiency drive of SRM. Some experimental tests are executed to find the drive performances.

  • Interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) has become a popular choice in electric vehicle applications, due to their excellent power to weight ratio. The paper is proposed maximum torque control of IPMSM for high speed drive. The control method is applicable over the entire speed range and considered the limits of the inverter's current and voltage rated value. For each control mode, a condition that determines the optimal d-axis current $^i{_d}$ for maximum torque operation is derived. The proposed control algorithm is applied to IPMSM drive system for high speed drive, the operating characteristics controlled by maximum torque control are examined in detail by experiment.
