The Avantor® ACE® UltraCore series encompasses High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Ultra High Performance Liquid Chromatography (UHPLC) columns designed to deliver high throughput and high-efficiency ultra-fast separations. Utilizing ultra-inert solid-core silica particles with monodisperse particle distribution, these columns combine the high efficiency of UHPLC with the operability of HPLC instrumentation, yielding lower backpressure and high-resolution separations suitable for a broad spectrum of analytes. The Avantor® ACE® UltraCore range includes three primary product types: • UltraCore BIO: Designed for large biomolecules (≥5 kDa), these columns offer exceptional performance in separating biologically derived compounds. • UltraCore: Ideal for standard small organic molecules, providing rapid separations for both synthetic and natural mixtures. • UltraCore Super: Equipped with encapsulated bonding technology for small organic molecules in extreme pH conditions, optimal for high pH buffer requirements. The Avantor® ACE® UltraCore columns present a versatile and high-efficiency solution for chromatographic separation needs, accommodating a wide range of molecular sizes and providing enhanced resolution and reduced analysis time. Their adaptability to both HPLC and UHPLC systems, combined with the advantages of solid-core technology, makes them an invaluable tool in analytical and preparative chromatography.
Recent results from microlensing surveys show that a free-floating planet or a wide-separation planet is more numerous than a main-sequence star in the Galaxy. Moreover, the detection efficiency of the planets will be improved in next-generation experiments with a high survey monitoring frequency. However, microlensing events produced by both planets appear similar light curves with a short duration timescale, thus it is difficult to distinguish them. In this paper, we investigated the detectable separation range of a wide-separation planet as the planet bound to its host star. We construct the fractional deviation maps using the magnifications of the planetary lensing and the single-lensing by planet itself for various parameters such as a mass ratio, separation, and source radius. As a result, we found that the pattern of the fractional deviation is related to the ratio of source radius to caustic size, and the ratio satisfying the detection criterion (i.e., ${\geq}5%$ in the fractional deviation) varies with a separation. Hence, we derived a fitting formula as the function of a mass ratio and a source radius to reflect the variation in the calculations of the detectable separation range of a wide-separation planet as the planet bound to its host star. In addition, we estimated the condition that a wide-separation planet can be detected as a single-lensing event under the finite source effect. We found that such a case is possible provided that the source radius is smaller than ~2.5 times of Einstein ring radius of a planet, regardless of a separation or a mass ratio.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the hydraulic retention time (HRT) and organic loading rate (OLR) on microbial characteristics and treatment efficiency in sewage treatment using aerated submerged biological filter (ASBF) reactor. This reactor combines biodegradation of organic substrates by fixed biomass with a physical separation of biomass by filtration in a single reactor. Both simulated wastewater and domestic wastewater were used as feed solutions. The experimental conditions were a temperature of 17 to $27^{\circ}C$, a hydraulic retention time of 1 to 9hr, an organic loading rate of 0.47 to $3.84kg\;BOD/m^3{\cdot}day$ in ASBF reactor. This equipment could obtain a stable effluent quality in spite of high variation of influent loading rate. Total biomass concentration. biofilm thickness and biofilm mass increased an exponential function according to the increasing OLR. The relationships between water content and biofilm density were in inverse proportion. The percentage of backwash water to influent flow was almost 9%. The separation efficiency of biomass was the percentage of 91 to 92 in ASBF reactor. The sludge production rates in feed solutions of simulated wastewater and domestic wastewater were 0.14~0.26 kg VSS/kg BODrem, 0.43~0.48 kg VSS/kg BODrem, respectively.

$(Ba(Zr_{0.85}Y_{0.15})O_{3-\delta})$ oxide, showing high protonic conductivity at high temperatures and good chemical stability with $CO_2$ are referred to as hydrogen separation membrane. For high efficiency of hydrogen separation ($H_2$ flux and selectivity) and low fabrication cost, ultimate thin and dense BZY-Ni layer has to be coated on a porous substrate such as $ZrO_2$. Aerosol depostion (AD) process is a novel technique to grow ceramic film with high density and nano-crystal structure at room-temperature, and may be applicable to the fabrication process of AD integration ceramic layer effectively. XRD, SEM, X-ray mapping measurements were conducted in order to analyze the characteristics of BZY-Ni membrane fabricated by AD process. it is observed that it is homogeneous distribution for BZY-Ni. The result of $H_2$ permeation rate suggests that BZY-Ni composite is higher than BZY.
This paper presents high-spread (HS) random interleavers based interleave-division multiple access (IDMA) scheme for the 4th generation mobile radio system. High-spread feature of a random interleaver offers high-spread characteristics to interleavers and thus produces extrinsic values with low correlation. As interleavers are key components for user separation in the IDMA, the HS interleavers with this feature are employed and analyzed in the IDMA for performance improvement. In addition, by replacing random interleavers with the HS interleavers in the IDMA, bandwidth efficiency is achieved by means of reducing the length of the repetition code. Performance evaluation shows that the proposed scheme of the IDMA with the HS interleavers provides superior BER performance and improved bandwidth efficiency.

PVDF is good material for a hollow fiber membrane with high porosity and excellent hydrophobicity. Asymmetric PVDF hollow fiber membranes were prepared by the Loeb-Sourirajan phase inversion method. Asymmetric PVDF hollow fiber membranes could be controlled in pore size and porosity using various additives(LiCl, ZnCl$_2$) and internal coagulants (water, EtOH/water, and DMAc/water mixture). $CO_2$removal efficiency of asymmetric PVDF hollow fiber membranes was 1.2 times high than that of commercialized PP hollow fiber membranes at MEA 5wt% solution. $CO_2$flux of asymmetric PVDF hollow fiber membranes was 2.5 times higher than that of commercialized PP hollow fiber membranes. $CO_2$removal efficiency and absorption rate of asymmetric PVDF hollow fiber membranes were 30 times higher than those of packed column at absorbent $H_2O$. $CO_2$flux of asymmetric PVDF hollow fiber membranes at MEA 5wt% solution was 48 times higher than that of pure water. In the case of MEA 5wt% solution used as an absorbent, the $CO_2$absorption rate and removal efficiency of PVDF hollow fiber membrane were 2.3 times higher than that of a packed column.
This paper presents the design and experiment results of a multi-layered microsystem for magnetic bead applications. The magneto-microfluidic device is designed for capable of separating magnetic beads. In the presence of the magnetic field, magnetic beads are attracted and moved to high gradient magnetic fields. A multi-layered microfluidic channel consists of top and bottom layers in order to separate magnetic beads in the vertical direction. Our channel is easily integrated magnetic cell sorter, especially on-chip microelectromagnet or permanent magnet device. Fast separation of magnetic beads in top and bottom channels can be used in high throughput screening to monitor the efficiency of blood and drug compounds.
The effects of column length and particle size on the efficiency of separation and characterization of phospholipids (PLs) are investigated using nanoflow liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrometry (nLC-ESI-MS-MS). Since PLs are associated with cell proliferation, apoptosis, and signal transduction, it is of increasing interests in lipidomics to establish reliable analytical methods for the qualitative and quantitative profiling of PLs related to biomarker development in adult diseases. Due to the complexity of PLs, the preliminary separation of PLs is necessary prior to MS analysis. In this study, length of capillary column and the particle size of reversed phase ($C_{18}$) packing materials are varied to find a reliable condition for the high speed and high resolution separation using 8 PL standard mixtures. From experiments, it was found that a capillary column of nLC-ESI-MS-MS analysis for PL mixtures can be minimized to a 5 cm long pulled tip column packed with 3 ${\mu}m$$C_{18}$ particles without losing resolution.
PolyHIPEs membrane prepared with styrene (St), divinylbenzene (DVB), and ethylhexyl acrylate (EHA) can yield a unique pore structure provided by large voids highly interconnected by many small window throats. With the advantageous pore structure, PolyHIPE presents a potential as a support for carrier facilitated transport membrane. Tricaprylmethylammonium chloride (Aliquat 336) can be efficiently incorporated into the PolyHIPE membrane by a two-step solvent-nonsolvent method to obtain an Aliquat 336-immobilized PolyHIPE membrane with good stability. The study of Cr (VI) transport through Aliquat 336-immobilized PolyHIPE membrane indicates that the membrane has high initial flux and maxima stripping flux ($J_f^o=15.01({\mu}mol/m^2s)$, $J_s^{max}=6.15({\mu}mol/m^2s)$). The reusability study shows that the Aliquat 336-immobilized PolyHIPE membrane can maintain high Cr(VI) recovery efficiency even after 15 cycles of operations. The developed membrane was also used in the separation of Cr (VI) from other anions (i.e., $SO_4{^{2-}}$ and $NO_3{^-}$) and other cations (i.e., Ni (II), Mg (II) and Cu (II)) with good selectivity.

Blind Source Separation (BSS) is a technique used to separate supposed independent sources of signals from a given set of observations. In this paper, the High Exploration Particle Swarm Optimization (HEPSO) algorithm, which is an enhancement of the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm, has been used to separate a set of source signals. Compared to PSO algorithm, HEPSO algorithm depends on two additional operators. The first operator is based on the multi-crossover mechanism of the genetic algorithm while the second one relies on the bee colony mechanism. Both operators have been employed to update the velocity and the position of the particles respectively. Thus, they are used to find the optimal separating matrix. The proposed method enhances the overall efficiency of the standard PSO in terms of good exploration and performance. Based on many tests realized on speech and music signals supplied by the BSS demo, experimental results confirm the robustness and the accuracy of the introduced BSS technique.
