한국형 고속전철의 제동시스템 설계 및 성능 연구 (Design and Performance Study of Brake System for Korean High Speed Rail)

  • The study was carried out about the design and the performance study of brake system for Korean High Speed Train of maximum operating speed of 350km/h. The brake system was studied to two parts the function of brake system and the performance of brake system base on Korean-TGV. According to the simulation of brake system, the train should be provided the eddy current brake system for maximum operating speed of 350km/h. The eddy current brake system take charge of about 31% on normal condition and about 22% on emergency by condition. The performance study of brake system would be continued for definition of adhesion factor un friction factor assumed to analysis and simulation.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient dynamic workload balancing strategy which improves the performance of high-performance computing system. The key idea of this dynamic workload balancing strategy is to minimize execution time of each job and to maximize the system throughput by effectively using system resource such as CPU, memory. Also, this strategy dynamically allocates job by considering demanded memory size of executing job and workload status of each node. If an overload node occurs due to allocated job, the proposed scheme migrates job, executing in overload nodes, to another free nodes and reduces the waiting time and execution time of job by balancing workload of each node. Through simulation, we show that the proposed dynamic workload balancing strategy based on CPU, memory improves the performance of high-performance computing system compared to previous strategies.

MMAP 이산시간 큐잉 시스템의 속산 시뮬레이션 (An Efficient Simulation of Discrete Time Queueing Systems with Markov-modulated Arrival Processes)

  • The cell loss probability required in the ATM network is in the range of 10$^{-9}$ ∼10$^{-12}$ . If Monte Carlo simulation is used to analyze the performance of the ATM node, an enormous amount of computer time is required. To obtain large speed-up factors, importance sampling may be used. Since the Markov-modulated processes have been used to model various high-speed network traffic sources, we consider discrete time single server queueing systems with Markov-modulated arrival processes which can be used to model an ATM node. We apply importance sampling based on the Large Deviation Theory for the performance evaluation of, MMBP/D/1/K, ∑MMBP/D/1/K, and two stage tandem queueing networks with Markov-modulated arrival processes and deterministic service times. The simulation results show that the buffer overflow probabilities obtained by the importance sampling are very close to those obtained by the Monte Carlo simulation and the computer time can be reduced drastically.

eLoran Signal Strength and Atmospheric Noise Simulation over Korea

  • GPS is the most widely-used Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) system. Since GPS is an important PNT infrastructure, the vulnerability of GPS to signal jamming has received significant attention. Especially, South Korea has experienced intentional high-power jamming from North Korea for the past three years, and thus realized the necessity of a complementary PNT system. South Korea recently decided to deploy a high-power terrestrial navigation system, eLoran, as a complementary PNT system. According to the plan, the initial operational capability of the Korean eLoran system is expected by 2016, and the full operational capability is expected by 2018. As a necessary research tool to support the Korean eLoran program, an eLoran performance simulation tool for Korea is under development. In this paper, the received signal strength, which is necessary to simulate eLoran performance, from the suggested Korean eLoran transmitters is simulated with the consideration of effective ground conductivities over Korea. Then, eLoran signal-to-noise ratios are also simulated based on atmospheric noise data over Korea. This basic simulation tool will be expanded to estimate the navigation performance (e.g., accuracy, integrity, continuity, and availability) of the Korean eLoran system.

  • Monte-Carlo simulation technique has advantages over deterministic simulation in various engineering analysis since Monte-Carlo simulation can take into consideration of scattering of various design variables, which is inherent characteristics of physical world. In this work, Monte-Carlo simulation of steady-state cornering behavior of a truck with design variables like hard points and busing stiffness. The purpose of the simulation is to improve understeer gradient of the truck, which exhibits a small amount of instability when the lateral acceleration is about 0.4g. Through correlation analysis, design variables that have high impacts on the cornering behavior were selected, and significant performance improvement has been achieved by appropriately changing the high impact design variables.

  • To implement a combined discrete event and discrete time simulation such as submarine diving simulation in a distributed environment, e.g., in the High Level Architecture (HLA)/Run-Time Infrastructure (RTI), a HLA interface, which can easily connect combined models with the HLA/RTI, was developed in this study. To verify the function and performance of the HLA interface, it was applied to the submarine dive scenario in a distributed environment, and the distributed simulation shows the same results as the stand-alone simulation. Finally, by adding a visualization model to the simulation and by editing this model, we can confirm that the HLA interface can provide user-friendly functions such as adding new model and editing a model.

  • 큰 대역폭과 낮은 비트 에러율을 가진 고속망환경에서 기존의 낮은 대역폭과 놀은 비트 에러율을 가진 망환경에서 개발된 트랜스포트 프로토콜을 사용할 경우에 비효율적인 구조와 오버헤드로 인하여 성능이게 크게 저하한다. 따라서 고속망환경에 알맞는 새로운 프로토콜로 HSTP(High Speed Transport Protocol)가 제안되었다. 본 연구는 HSTP의 3가지 에러제어 기법과 TP4의 2가지 에러제어 기법을 이용했을 때의 성능과 HSTP의 rate control을 이용하여 흐름제어를 할 경우의 성능을 시뮬레이션 연구를 통하여 평가, 비교하였다.

저토피 구간의 신개념 고성능 터널지보시스템에 대한 연구 (New High-performance Supporting System of Shallow Tunnel in Soil)

  • 본 논문은 사질토 지반에서 천층터널의 신개념 고성능 지보시스렘을 연구하였으며 새로운 지보시스템의 메카니즘 제안과 기존의 지보시스템과의 비교 분석을 시행하였다. 새로운 지보시스템인 선지보 시스템은 터널의 굴착전에 지반을 보강해주는 효과와 터널의 지보력을 증가시켜주는 여러 가지 장점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 선지보 시스템의 시공순서를 분석하고 터널 시공시 선지보 시스템의 적용성을 검증하기위해 수치해석을 수행하였다. 신개념 지보시스템을 분석한 결과, 신개념 고성능 터널지보시스템은 천층터널에서의 적용성이 뛰어나며, 터널 입 출구, 토사터널, 연약지반에서의 적용성 또한 뛰어난 것으로 판단되어졌다.

저전력 D-flipflop을 이용한 고성능 Dual-Modulus Prescaler (High Performance Dual-Modulus Prescaler with Low Power D-flipflops)

  • 본 논문에서는 GHz 대역에서 동작하며 소모전력이 적은 동적 D-flipflop을 제안한다. 제안하는 D-flipflop은 두 가지 측면의 장점을 제공한다. 첫째, 클럭 입력을 갖는 PMOS 트랜지스터의 개수를 줄여 기존회로와 동일한 면적하에서도 고속 동작을 할 수 있다. 둘째, 클럭 업력을 갖는 NMOS 트랜지스터 공유에 의하여 glitch를 줄이고 소모전력을 낮출 수 있다. 제안하는 D-flipflop의 성능 비교를 위하여 기존회로와 동일한 면적의 레이아웃 회로에서 소모전력 및 최대동작주파수의 측정실험을 한다. 제안하는 회로의 응용 예로 고속 prescaler에서 동일한 방법의 특성실험을 한다. 성능분석결과 기존 회로에 비하여 동작속도와 전력소모 측면에서 우수한 성능을 나타냄을 확인하였다.
