  • In this paper, we proposes a study on air gap control for magnetic levitation of transverse flux permanent magnet electromagnets. In general, mechanical systems have a high failure rate of bearings. Bearings in particular are problematic because they have high surface wear rate and degradations. To solve this problem, replacing the bearing with a magnetic levitation electromagnet system can provide lightweight and efficiency improvements. However, precise air gap control is essential to control the magnetic levitation electromagnet system. Therefore, in this paper, we identify the instable cause of gap control through a mathematical modeling and verify through experiment a control algorithm that can use compensation.

고발열 CPU 냉각용 증기 압축식 냉각 시스템의 증발기 최적화 (Optimization of Evaporator for a Vapor Compression Cooling System for High Heat Flux CPU)

  • This paper presents the optimization process of evaporator for a vapor compression cooling system for high heat flux CPU. The CPU thermal capacity was given by 300W. Evaporating temperature and mass flow rate were $18^{\circ}C$ and 0.00182kg/s respectively. R134a was used as a working fluid. Channel width(CW) and height(CH) were selected as design factors. And thermal resistance, surface temperature of CPU, degree of superheat, and pressure drop were taken as objective responses. Fractional factorial DOE was used in screening phase and RSM(Response Surface Method) was used in optimization phase. As a result, CW of 2.5mm, CH of 2.5mm, and CL of 484mm were taken as an optimum geometry. Surface temperature of CPU and thermal resistance were $33^{\circ}C\;and\;0.0502^{\circ}C/W$ respectively. Thermal resistance of evaporator designed in this study was significantly lower than that of other cooling systems such as water cooling system and thermosyphon system. It was found that the evaporator considered in this work can be a excellent candidate for a high heat flux CPU cooling system.

  • In this paper authors proposed a new nonlinear rotor flux observer for rotor field oriented control of an induction motor which is designed based on theory of the extended Luenberger observer(ELO) one of a nonlinear state observer. The proposed rotor flux observer is derived from the 2 phase model of induction motor by the theory of ELO. The simulation results taken under the varying condition of rotor resistance and load torque show fast convergence of estimated rotor flux and high performance of IM drive system is achieved 표 experiment.

  • Recently, the elimination of speed sensors has been one of the important requirement in vector control systems, because the speed sensor spoil the ruggedness and simplicity of induction motor. This paper proposes sensorless vector control for high performance of induction motor. The proposed vector control scheme is based on a rotor flux and speed which are calculated from the stator voltage and currents with improved flux estimator. The characteristics of vector control employing stator voltage and current generally deteriorate as the speed gets lower acause the calculated rotor flux depends on the stator resistance and it is difficult to calculate rotor flux at low speed of standstill. This new control system is robust with respect to variations of the stator resistance and it makes possible to calculated rotor flux at low speed of standstill. These feature are verified by the simulation results.

직접토크제어에 의한 위치검출기 없는 릴럭턴스 동기전동기의 위치 제어시스템 (A High-Performance Position Sensorless Motion Control System of Reluctance Synchronous Motor with Direct Torque Control)

  • 본 논문은 직접토크제어(Direct torque control, DTC)를 사용한 릴럭턴스 동기전동기(Reluctance synchronous motor, RSM)의 위치센서 없는 모션제어 시스템을 제안한다. 고성능 효율제어를 수행하는데 있어서 DTC를 이용한 릴럭턴스 전동기 드라이브는 고정자 쇄교자속의 포화와 부하전류에 따라 비선형적으로 변하는 인덕턴스로 인해 여러 가지 문제점들이 발생한다. 이러한 이유로 본 논문에서는 정확한 고정자 쇄교자속과 토크를 계산하기 위해서 자속관측기의 $L_d\;와\; L_q$값을 회전자 위치와 고정자 전류에 대해 보상하였으며, 빠른 토크 응답특성과 최적 효율특성을 얻기 위해서 기준자속을 부하에 따라 계산하였다. 제안된 알고리즘의 정당성을 확인하기 위해서 1.0[kW] 릴럭턴스 동기 전동기를 사용하여 $\pm$20[rpm]과 $\pm$1500[rpm]에서 실험을 수행하였고, 실험을 수행한 결과 저속영역과 고속영역 모두 우수한 동특성과 향상된 효율을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • 본 논문은 직접토크제어에 의한 리럭턴스 동기 전동기의 위치센서 없는 고성능 제어시스템을 제안한다. 이 시스템은 고정자 자속관측기, 속도/토크 관측기, 두 개의 디지털 히스테리시스 제어기, 최적 스위칭 룩업 테이블, IGBT 전압형 인버터, 그리고 TMS320C31 DSP보드로 구성된다. 넓은 속도 범위에서의 안정된 응답특성을 얻기 위해서 전동기 단자에서 얻어진 전압과 전류를 사용하는 폐루프 자속관측기를 사용하였다. 개발된 고성능 속도제어 시스템의 동특성을 검증하기 위해서 1.0[kW] 리럭턴스 동기 전동기를 사용하여 시뮬레이션과 실험을 수행한 결과 저속영역과 고속영역 모두 우수한 동특성을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • High speed brushless permanent magnet(PM) machines need a key technology to minimize the iron core losses in stator and the eddy current losses in the retained sleeve and magnets caused by slotting harmonics. Thus, slotless or iron-coreless brushless PM machines have been applied for a very high rotational speed and/or the ripple-free torque. Unfortunately, slotless or coreless PM machines have lower open-circuit field than slotted and/or iron-cored types, which cause to reduce power density. Fortunately, Halbach array can generate the strong magnetic field systems without additional magnetic materials. In this paper, the 4-pole Halbach array is applied to the high speed machine and is compared with the radial magnetized PM array in field system. The iron-/air-cored stator of PM machine is constructed with/without winding slots. Open circuit magnetic fields of each type are presented from the analytical method and finite element method. Consequently, it is confirmed that the Halbach array field system with slotless stator is more suitable to the high speed motor because it has high flux density, sinusoidal flux distribution than others.

아이스슬러리형 빙축열 시스템을 이용한 냉각 시스템의 특성 분석 (Characteristic Analysis of the Cooling System Using Ice Slurry Type Heat Storage System)

  • To clarify the hydraulic and thermal characteristics of ice slurry which made from 6.5% ethylene glycol-water solution flow in the double tube and plate type heat exchanger, experimental studies were performed. The mass flux and Ice fraction of ice slurry were varied from 800 to $3,500 kg/m^2s$(or 7 to 17 kg/min) and from 0 to 25%, respectively. During the experiment, it was found that the measured pressure drop and heat transfer rate increase with the mass flux and ice fraction; however the effect of ice fraction appears not to be significant at high mass flux region. At the region of low mass flux, a sharp increase in the pressure drop and heat transfer rate were observed depends on mass flux.

  • Calculation of accurate wall heat flux for high enthalpy flows requires a dense grid system, which leads to significantly large computational time. A high-order scheme can improve the efficiency of calculation because wall heat flux can be obtained accurately even with a relatively coarse grid system. However, conventional high order schemes have some drawbacks such as oscillations near a discontinuity and instability in multi-dimensional problem. To resolve these problems, enhanced Multi-dimensional Limiting Process(e-MLP) was applied as a high-order scheme. It could provide robust and accurate solutions with high order accuracy in calculation of high enthalpy flows within a short time. We could confirm the efficiency of the high order e-MLP scheme through grid convergence tests with different grid densities in a hypersonic blunt nose problem.
