Two different methods to extract the license plate area of a vehicle have been used for automatic recognition purposes. One method is with a color vision system and the other is with an edge detecting operator. The system with color vision has some problems if the colors of license plate and vehicle's body are similar. The various plate colors in Korea also drops the system performance. The edge detecting operator also has a problem for a real time processing since it performs on all pixels of the scene. In this paper a possible method using gray level vision system and available pre-known information of license plates is suggested. The suggested procedure searches the lower boundary of the plate by counting high contrast points between one and near pixel from the bottom line of the scene. It finds the upper boundary from the bottom line by adding number plate height after finding the lower boundary. The left and right boundaries are found by similar processes.
The growing mobile products market is expected energy efficiency. So product design is more important focusing on reducing power consumption than improving technology of color sense. A Organic light emission diode is in limelight of the best display to satisfy market expectation. A Organic light emission diode is achieved low power consumption, pixel response which was fast for its time, high contrast of brightness and wide color reproduction raio. Therefore there is a fierce competition for the organic light emission diode development between a country and another country over business. The technical value's life is short because of a fierce development competition, and there is little probability that technical success become business success. In this study, the purpose is reduce the time for life test by accelerated current and it can do production possible design by accelerated life model in design phase.

We have achieved 180-degree angle of view performance using Super-PVA (S-PVA) technology first time in TFT-LCD industry. 82" full high definition ($1920{\times}1080$) TFT- LCD panel, the world's largest TFT-LCD, have been developed. In addition to the size breakthrough, this product achieves 600nits brightness, over 1200:1 contrast ratio, viewing angle free, 92% color gamut, and 8ms response time. Several key enabling technologies were developed to achieve these specifications, including two transistor direct driven independently controlled S-PVA subpixels, non even area ratio sub-pixels for optimal offaxis gamma, gate overlap driving for larger driving margin, new CCFL technology for higher color gamut, and advanced fabrication techniques including the use of Samsung's new $7^{th}$ generation line.
WO3 thin films were synthesized by electrodeposition, and their electrochromic properties were investigated. The application of static voltage produced WO3 films with a smooth, compact surface morphology, and the film thickness linearly increased with the application time. The thicker film showed a strong color contrast but a slow color-switching speed. High-temperature heat treatment exceeding 300 ℃ induced a phase transformation from an amorphous to a monoclinic structure and resulted in degraded electrochromic performance. Furthermore, the optimized WO3 thin films demonstrated their potential application as electrochromic boards for writing and erasing letters using a simple modified 3D printer in a rapid, accurate process
Liquid whole egg (LWE) was subjected to high hydrostatic pressure (HHP), a consecutive combination of nisin and HHP (nisin-HHP), or a consecutive combination of ultrasound and HHP (ultrasound-HHP), and functional properties of processed LWE were compared to those of raw LWE. Little changes in foaming and emulsifying properties were observed by the application of HHP alone and the combined process of nisin and HHP. In contrast, ultrasound-HHP combination resulted in significant changes in color, foaming, and emulsifying properties. The maintenance of functional properties after HHP treatment agreed with expectation, because the HHP processing condition had been selected where minimal rheological changes had occurred.
Underwater photographing and image recording are essential for pre-excavation survey and during excavation in underwater archaeology. Unlike photographing on land, all underwater images suffer various quality degradations such as shape distortions, color shift, blur, low contrast, high noise levels and so on. Outcome is very often heavily photographing equipment and photographer dependent. Excavation schedule, weather conditions, and water conditions can put burdens on divers. Usable images are very limited compared to the efforts. In underwater archaeological study in very turbid water such as in the Yellow Sea (between mainland China and the Korean peninsula), underwater photographing is very challenging. In this study, off-site image distortion and color compensation techniques using an image processing/analysis software is investigated as an alternative image quality enhancement method. As sample images, photographs taken during the excavation of 800-year-old Taean Mado Shipwrecks in the Yellow Sea in 2008-2010 were mainly used. Significant enhancement in distortion and color compensation of archived images were obtained by simple post image processing using image processing/analysis software (PicMan) customized for given view ports, lenses and cameras with and without optical axis offsets. Post image processing is found to be very effective in distortion and color compensation of both recent and archived images from various photographing equipment models and configurations. Merits and demerit of in-situ, distortion and color compensated photographing with sophisticated equipment and conventional photographing equipment, which requires post image processing, are compared.
The subject of study concerns the color characteristics of clothing/accessories from Chosuna nd modern Korea. It particularly focuses on the colors of the Jeogori? traditional jacket) which represents Korean traditional clothing. Color data were collected from 353 womans Jegoris from Chosuna nd modern Korea and divided into the predominant colors & sub colors, and analyzed with HV/C and PCCS. According to the analysis, the representative the predominant color of 'Chosun Jeogori' for woman is YR, Y and side one is R, YR. The p, dp, sf, ltg colors are frequently found and the freshness of most of them is medium or low which shows a calm-feeling. The p, and ltg tones are often found as a the predominant color and p, dp are also often found as a the side color. In the 'Chosun Jeogori' for woman, the predominant colors and the side colors spread in a similar frequency and most of them have medium or low freshness of the color that shows a calm-feeling. The side color is one of the R colors and it shows characteristics of traditional coloring such as Jajoo Goreum? Among the Jeogorif or modern women, the R, YR, Y, and B colors are often used for the single-color Jeogori? the Y, GY, N, G colors are for the colorful Jeogori? The P, lt, and b tons of the color are often used for a single-color Jeogoria nd the p, lt, and W are for the colorful Jeogori? For the colorful Jeogori? the side color have a high freshness which shows that a strong image was used frequently as the dp, s, dk tons of the color were often used. According to an analysis of the coloring, the predominant color and the side color of Chosun Jeogoria re applied to create a harmony of analogy & contrast in one aspect of Moon & Spencers view. It is found that the predominant color and the side color are similar or contrasting in one view of the color harmony, except that the traditional the Jeogorii s colored by ideological and symbolic meanings. The predominant color and the side color of modern the Jeogoria re complementary colors which are applied to the indistinct relationship or contrasting harmony in one aspect of Moon & Spencers view of the color harmony. The characteristics of the color as above show that traditional the Jeogorir egards the side color as both the harmony of the colors in general and also of symbolic meaning, while modern the Jeogorif or woman has a tendency toward a cultural transition and is mixed with new colors focusing more on its the predominant color than on the general harmony and character of ideological & traditional coloring.
The orchid has a very elegant color and various forms in the nature or the ground for human life and the mother of life, The purpose of this study is to express some creative formative art by using the orchid as motive, and thereby, suggest the possibility of an artistic modern costume design by reviewing the texture of the materials. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; First, it was confirmed through this study that the orchid with diverse forms and colors can be used as design motive in almost infinitely diverse ways, and that all the artificial forms or structures contain the elements of natural beauty. Second, the luxurious and rich sense of orchid‘s color can be maximized by using the complementary contrast effect of the dyeing technique and the color gradation effect through harmony among similar colors. Third, a high value-added costume can be created to meet modern men’s aesthetic desire by using such embroidery techniques as crochet, weaving, dyeing, beads embroidery and art flower. Fourth, different effects of texture can be rendered by using different materials of various textures and characteristics. In addition, the possibility of creative expression for costume as formative art can be enhanced by expanding the expressions of the materials.
The melanocortin 1 receptor (MC1R) gene is related to the plumage color variations in chicken. Initially, the MC1R gene from 30 individuals was sequenced and nine polymorphisms were obtained. Of these, three and six single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were confirmed as synonymous and nonsynonymous mutations, respectively. Among these, three selected SNPs were genotyped using the restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) method in 150 individuals from five chicken breeds, which identified the plumage color responding alleles. The neighbor-joining phylogenetic tree using MC1R gene sequences indicated three well-differentiated different plumage pigmentations (eumelanin, pheomelanin and albino). Also, the genotype analyses indicated that the TT, AA and GG genotypes corresponded to the eumelanin, pheomelanin and albino plumage pigmentations at nucleotide positions 69, 376 and 427, respectively. In contrast, high allele frequencies with T, A and G alleles corresponded to black, red/yellow and white plumage color in 69, 376 and 427 nucleotide positions, respectively. Also, amino acids changes at position Asn23Asn, Val126Ile and Thr143Ala were observed in melanin synthesis with identified possible alleles, respectively. In addition, high haplotype frequencies in TGA, CGG and CAA haplotypes were well discriminated based on the plumage pigmentation in chicken breeds. The results obtained in this study can be used for designing proper breeding and conservation strategies for the Korean native chicken breeds, as well as for the developing breed identification markers in chicken.
Field sequential liquid crystal display (FSLCD) has advantages such as a high transmittance due to no use of color filter and high color reproductivity because of LED backlight for a luminance source. However, to realize FSLCD response time of the LCD must be below 5ms. In this paper, we have chosen electrically controlled birefringence (ECB) mode for this application and studied film compensation to improve the operating voltage and viewing angle and to achieve a fast response time optimizing the condition of the discotic film and TAC film, operating voltage decreases to 5V, and viewing angle range is $160^{\circ}$ at horizontal and vertical direction, respectively and $120^{\circ}$ in diagonal direction. (contrast ratio > 10:1) and optimized cell exhibits a fast response time of 4ms in most grey levels.
