복단면인 직선수로 내 사행 저수로의 형태에 따른 흐름특성 연구 (A Study on Flow Characteristics according to Meandering Low Flow Channel Shape in the Compound Cross Section Typed Straight Channel)

  • 복단면 형태를 이루는 직선하도 내 사행하는 저수로의 형태에 따른 흐름 특성을 파악하기 위해, 국내 대표적인 하도 형태를 상정해 실내 수리모형을 실시해서 3차원 수치모의의 유효성을 확인하고, 이를 바탕으로 다른 유형의 하도 형태에 대해서도 수치모의로 검토를 실시하였다. 본 연구결과, 수리모형 실험에서 관측한 수심별 유속값을 이용하여 수치모형의 검정을 수행한 결과, 수치모의 결과와 충분히 일치하는 것으로 확인하였다. 이를 토대로, 추가적인 저수로 형태 변화에 따른 유동장에 대해 분석한 바에 따르면, 선행 연구들에서 검토된 이차류 현상이 발생하였음을 확인한 한편, 고수부지 내 유수단면적 확대에 따라 최고유속분포 지점이 이동하는 현상을 확인할 수 있었다. 궁극적으로 저수로 폭 변화가 흐름에 영향을 끼쳐 궁극적으로 하천설계에 중요한 요소인 수충부의 위치와 그 영향 정도를 파악하는 것이 필요하다고 판단된다.

Experimental and Numerical Study on Slamming Impact

  • This paper presents the results of experimental and numerical research on the slamming phenomenon. Two experimental techniques were proposed in this study. The traditional free drop tests were carried out. However, the free drop tests done in this study using an LM guide showed excellent repeatability, unlike those of other researchers. The coefficients of variation for the drop test done in this experiment were less than 0.1. The other experimental technique proposed in this study was a novel concept that used a pneumatic cylinder. The pneumatic cylinder could accelerate the specimen over a very short distance from the free surface. As a result, high rates of repeatability were achieved. In the numerical study, the development of in-house code and utilization of commercial code were carried out. The in-house code developed was based on the boundary element method. It is a potential code. This was mostly applied to the computation of the wedge entry problem. The commercial code utilized was FLUENT. Most of the previous slamming research was done under the assumption of a constant body velocity all through the impact process, which is not realistic at all. However, the interaction of a fluid and body were taken into account by employing a user-defined function in this study. The experimental and numerical results were compared. The in-house code based on BEM showed better agreement than that of the FLUENT computation when it cames to the wedge computation. However, the FLUENT proved that it could deal with a very complex geometry while BEM could not. The proposed experimental and numerical procedures were shown to be very promising tools for dealing with slamming problems.

탈립성(脱粒性), 단간종(短稈種)인 통일계품종(統一系品種)에 적합(適合)한 바인더의 개량(改良) 개발(開發)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究)(I) (Modification of the Existing Binders for Highly-Shattering, Short-Stem Rice Varieties (I))

  • The binders introduced in Korea were originally designed to be used for Japonica-type varieties which have relatively long stem and are highly resistant to shattering. In order to use it for Tongil varieties which are short and easy to be shattered, mechanical modifications are necessary to reduce a grain loss incurred during binder operation. This study was intended to investigate analytically and experimentally the major sources of grain losses caused by three kinds of binders now introduced in Korea. Actual modification for each of three binders was done and experimentally compared to see if any improvement on grain loss was achieved. The results obtained in this study are summarized as follows; 1. It was required that the power transmission of binder should have a shifting mechanism so that velocities of pick-up and traveling units could be changed independently as desired according to the Japonica-type and Tongil varieties. In other words, the desired velocity of traveling unit should be obtained by shifting the transmission and the velocity of pick-up unit should be selected by reaping clutch according to the variety independent of the velocity of traveling unit as shown in Fig. 6. 2. To reduce grain loss it was desired that the moving parts of the pick-up unit should have the lowest possible velocities in harvesting Tongil varieties, unless the reduction of the speed be hindered the conveyance of the material. Based on the study, it was concluded that the velocities of pick-up unit be reduced by about 35% of those of the existing units. 3. It was found that the lug at the upper rotating section of pick-up case gave a severe impact on the ears of rice to increase grain loss. The optimum design of pick-up case to protect the ears from the protruding part of the lug was recommended by the result of analysis of the trajectory of the end-point of lug at the position. 4. It was proved analytically and experimentally that pick-up unit at the lower-rotating part was the other important source of grain loss in pick-up and divider assembly. In order to reduce a grain loss incurred by lugs at their lower-rotating section, it was suggested to improve it by (1) widening the space between right and left lower-rotating section, (2) shortening the length of lugs, (3) enlargement of the angle between the pick-up case and ground-level, and (4) attaching guard to right and left dividers so that the rotating lug could not give a high impact to the paddy hill. 5. Pick-up and divider assembly of the original binder of three models studied was modified according to the suggestions that were given by the preliminary study. Field test showed that the modified binders were able to reduce grain losses by about 0.4-0.7 percentage points compared to those without modification.

실험적 해석을 위한 머리-목 형태의 더미 개발 (Development f head-neck complex dummy for experimental study)

  • A head-neck complex dummy, for measuring brain pressure and reaction force in the cervical spine was developed for experimental study related in injury mechanism. Dummy comprised aluminium-casted head with water filled cavity for simulating brain and mechanical neck assembled with six motion segments. Several kinds of experiments (compression, bending, cyclic modulus, relaxation and constant velocity profile) for the developed mechanical neck showed that this neck model is biomechanically reliable compared with in-vitro test results. As an application of developed head-neck complex dummy, shock absorbing properties of protective helmet was chosen. The experiments showed that the maximum pressure increment of brain after impact was tolerable compared with the guide line for mild brain injury pressure (25psi). Constrast to this results, the reaction force in the neck was high enough to produce failure in the cervical spine.

  • Axial crushing behavior of cylindrical shell Is utilized in the braking of the high-velocity impacting object. In this paper, truncated cone shape brake device is introduced. That is, thickness of the shell is increased gradually from the impacting end to the other end. A detailed experimental investigation on the quasi-static axial crushing behavior of truncated cone type brake devices has been performed. Specimens of various shape were tested to check the influence of design parameters such as length, radius, mean thickness, and conical angle of cylinder. Influence of the material properties were also investigated by adopting aluminum, low carbon steel, and stainless steel as constructing materials. By analyzing deformation procedures of the specimens, it is seen that conical angle influence the deformation mode and the sequence of the wrinkles generation. Braking distance and mean braking force of each specimen were predicted based on the crushing load measured from the tests.

  • 유체 동역학 코드는 고속 충돌을 모델링하는 수치해석 툴로서 재료가 유체처럼 거동한다고 가정하며, 화약을 이용한 암반발파와 같은 충돌 문제를 푸는 데 광범위하게 사용된다. 암반발파를 현실적으로 모사하기 위해서는 화약을 수치해석적으로 모델링할 필요가 있으며, 이를 통해 암반과 화약의 상호작용 문제를 완전 연계된 방식으로 풀 수 있다. 화약을 수치 모델링하기 위해서는 특정 물리적 조건에서 재료의 상태를 나타내는 상태 방정식이 수립되어야 한다. 본 고에서는 발파 과정을 수치 모델링하기 위한 유체 동역학 코드, 화약의 상태 방정식과 관련 매개변수의 결정방법에 대해 소개하였다.

화물차량용 에어백 후부안전판 안전성능에 대한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Safety Performance of the Rear Safety Guard with Air Bag for Truck)

  • Despite the movement of safe traffic by the Korean government to reduce deaths in traffic accidents, the casualties increase year by year. In particular, more and more accidents and casualties are reported from car collisions from the back of the vehicles parked for managing traffic accidents on the road, cleaning main roads and medial strips, repairing roads. In order to response to these accidents, the government should take protective measures for road users. In the last decade, seventy-one cases have been reported to occur during highway repair and maintenance. As a result, eight persons were killed and seventy-six were injured, showing the high death rate of 11.3 percent. Therefore, it seems urgent to take some actions against it. The United States and European countries legislate that vehicles of road repair and maintenance should be mandatorily equipped with shock absorber at the back. Korea, however, does not have such legislative measures, which are needed at this time to protect workers on the road. This study compares the performance of the traditional shock absorber for road maintenance vehicles with that of the rear safety guard using air bag, manufactured in accordance with related laws in Korea. Based on the results of the 60km/h rear collision test, this paper proposes improvements in related laws and regulations in an attempt to reduce casualties.

해수전착 코팅을 이용한 내부식성 철근의 개발 및 적용성에 대한 연구 (2) -해수전착된 구조용 철근의 적용성 평가 (Development and Application of Anti-Corrosive Steel Using Electro-Deposition of Sea Water (2)- Evaluation of Application Rebar with Electro-Deposition Using Sea Water)

  • 해수에 노출된 콘크리트 구조물은 시간의 경과에 따라 철근부식이 야기될 수 있으며, 이는 구조적인 성능저하로 진전된다. 1단계 연구에서 도출된 해수전착시스템의 개발을 통하여 2단계 연구에서는 해수전착 코팅된 철근 및 코팅철근을 사용한 RC 콘크리트 부재의 구조적, 내구적 성능이 평가되었다. 내구적 성능평가에서는 반전위 측정이 수행되었는데, 코팅된 철근은 일반철근의 35%수준의 부식속도를 가지고 있었으므로 높은 내부식성을 확보하고 있었다. 구조실험에서는 직접인장시험, 부착력시험, RC 부재를 이용한 휨 및 전단시험이 수행되었다. 인장강도 시험에서는 3.2%, 부착성능에서는 8.8%의 강도 증가가 코팅된 철근에서 평가되었다. RC보에 대한 실험에서는 최대하중 및 파괴형태는 두가지 경우에서 거의 동일하게 평가되었다. 해수전착된 시편은 철근주위에 콘크리트와 비슷한 화합물(수산화마그네슘, 탄산칼슘)이 형성되므로 부착력 및 강도를 일부 증가시키는 것으로 평가되었다. 해수전착철근은 피로, 내충격성, 장기침지실험 등을 통하여 성능이 입증되면 더욱 활발하게 사용될 것으로 사료된다.

  • 고온 장시간 사용재의 열화로 인한 파괴인성의 저하를 초음파 방법으로 평가하기 위하여 Cr-Mo-V 강을 실험실에서 인공 열화처리하여 열화로 인한 손상 기구를 규명하고, 열화도에 따른 초음파 파라미터의 변화를 체계적으로 관찰하였다. 초음파 파라미터로서 속도, 감쇠와 보다 최근에 개발된 비선형 음향 파라미터를 사용하였는데, 비선형 음향 파라미터가 가장 민감한 변화를 보였다. 또한 전기비저항 측정 결과와 비교할 때 두 방법 모두 전체적으로 유사한 거동을 보였다. Charpy V-notch 충격시험으로부터 구한 파면양상 천이온도(FATT)와 비선형 파라미터 사이에는 비교적 좋은 상관관계가 성립하였으며, FATT와 파괴인성($K_{IC}$) 사이의 관계식에 근거하여 열화된 발전설비 재료의 파괴인성을 초음파 비선형 파라미터의 측정을 통하여 간접적으로 구할 수 있음을 보였다.

광·열경화형 수지를 이용한 탄소섬유 프리프레그의 물리적 특성 (Mechanical Characteristics of CF Laminated Prepreg with UV-thermal Dual Curable Epoxy Resin)

  • An issue of major concern in the utilization of laminated composites based epoxy resin is associated with the occurrence of delaminations or interlaminar cracks, which may be related to manufacturing defects or are induced in service by low-velocity impacts. A strong interfacial filament/brittle epoxy resin bonding can, however, be combined with the high fracture toughness of weak interfacial bonding, when the filaments are arranged to have alternate sections of shear stress. To improve this drawback of the epoxy resin, UV-thermal dual curable resin were developed. This paper presents UV-thermal dual curable resin which were prepared using epoxy acrylate oligomer, photoinitiators, a thermal-curing agent and thermoset epoxy resin. The UV curing behaviors and characteristics of UV-thermal dual curable epoxy resin were investigated using Photo-DSC, DMA and FTIR-ATR spectroscopy. The mechanical properties of UV-thermal dual curable epoxy resin impregnated CF prepreg by UV curable resin content were measured with Tensile, Flextural, ILSS and Sharpy impact test. The obtained results showed that UV curable resin content improves the epoxy toughness.
