In this study, we describe the improvement of the resolution of a paper-based sensor by fabricating a high-concentration ninhydrin part using a low-temperature drying method to detect proline with high resolution. In the conventional paper-based sensor for detecting proline, the ninhydrin part is fabricated at room temperature, and in this process, the ninhydrin solution spreads around the ninhydrin part. Therefore, the concentration of the ninhydrin part becomes lower than that of the applied solution, lowering the resolution of the sensor. The proposed paper-based sensor better improved the sensitivity of the sensor compared to the existing sensor by fabricating a high-concentration ninhydrin part through drying the ninhydrin solution using a low-temperature drying method. Owing to the experiment, the intensity of the green color of the paper-based sensor with the integrated ninhydrin part fabricated at 10 ℃ is approximately 20% lower than the paper-based sensor with an integrated ninhydrin part fabricated at room temperature, indicating better sensor resolution. Therefore, the paper-based sensor with an integrated ninhydrin part fabricated at a high concentration could be useful for diagnosing drought.

Combat vehicles require high levels of maneuverability, firepower, armor, and operability. A high-performance power system is required for optimal maneuverability. The fuel pump which supplies fuel stably is very important to achieve this. The fuel pump consists of a pump part, a motor part, and a control part. It is equipped with a BLDC motor. Numerous failures of the fuel pump occurred during vehicle operation when exposed to vibration, shock, and high temperature. The cause of failure was confirmed to be stator slip of the BLDC motor. Stator slip is a consequence of the interference loss between the stator and the housing of the motor part in an high temperature environment. The failure of the fuel pump was solved through size control of the motor housing and the stator. We performed vibration testing at high temperature for verification. This study contributes to improving the reliability of combat vehicles.
Background: Inflammation plays an important role in various diseases, including ulcerative colitis, Behcet's disease, and rheumatoid arthritis. In this study, we investigated the anti-inflammatory effects of Morus alba L. extracts obtained using different extraction methods (water extraction or high temperature extraction) on RAW264.7 cells. Methods and Results: Extracts from the central part (including the heartwood, sapwood, cambiun, and phloem) and bark (including the periderm and cortex) of Morus alba L. were obtained using either water or high temperature extraction. The following extract were obtained: MA1, water extract from the central part of Morus alba L., MA2, high temperature extract from the central part of Morus alba L., MA3, water extract from the bark of Morus alba L., and MA4, high temperature extract from the bark of Morus alba L. None of these extracts was observed to be cytotoxic to RAW264.7 cells. The MA2 extract reduced the production of LPS-induced NO (nitric oxide), $PGE_2$ (prostaglandin $E_2$), $TNF-{\alpha}$, IL-6, and $IL-1{\beta}$ production in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. Conclusions: These results indicated that the inflammatory response was moderated by MA2. Treatment with MA2 could be used as a natural medicine for treating diseases involving inflammation. However, further experiments are required to determine how the high temperature extraction method alters the active ingredients in the extract and influences the anti-inflammatory effects of Morus alba L..
A high-frequency therapy device with improved output by modifying a high-frequency stimulator was fabricated. The details of the design include generating part design, high-frequency transformer design, large output FET installation, DC voltage input part design and gate input driver design. Based on the real test using the pork meat, the temperature distributions according to the current electric transfer method, penetration depth, electrode diameter size were measured. In the CET method, the penetration depth was 0.5 cm and in the RET method, the penetration depth was 20 cm or more. In addition, it was confirmed that the temperature rise according to the penetration depth in the RET system was substantially constant, and the temperature rise was remarkable as the electrode diameter was small. As a result, it has been confirmed that the high frequency therapy device is highly affected by various conditions of the electrode.
In this study, the physical properties of starch adhesive by temperature in carrier and main part for the Stain-Hall method were analyzed. The temperatures of starch solutions in carrier part were inversely proportional to the viscosities. The viscosities of starch solutions were maintained similarly if 2nd temperatures were same independent on the those of the 1st temperatures in carrier part. the starch solutions showed similar viscosities in all range except the viscosity of the solutions in $30^{\circ}C\;and\;40^{\circ}C$. The viscosities of starch adhesives in main part were in proportion to those of starch solutions in carrier part. The viscosities of starch adhesives in main part were maintained similarly if 2nd temperatures in carrier part were same. The viscosities of starch adhesives in main part were low when the ultimate temperature of starch solutions in carrier part were high.

In the research, we developed a device for cooling the drive section of the gripper of a robot for handling the high temperature material. In this study, By using a Peltier element, the high-temperature material is not affected and driving cylinder is cooled to prevent damage due to high temperatures. Hot part of the Peltier element is towards the robot gripper. Cool part of the Peltier element is towards the driving cylinder. The heat sink portion is made to keep the cooling effect. As the performance result, cooling-test is taken, and their result is satisfy.

Weldlines are generated during the injection molding process when two or more melt flows are brought into contact. At the welded contact region, a 'V'-shaped notch is formed on the surface of the molded part. This 'V'-notch deteriorates not only surface appearance but also mechanical strength of the molded part. To eliminate or reduce weldlines so as to improve the weldline strength, the mold temperature at the corresponding weld locations should be maintained higher than the glass transition temperature of the resin material. The present study implements high-frequency induction heating in order to rapidly raise mold surface temperature without a significant increase in cycle time. This induction heating enables to local mold heating so as to eliminate or reduce weldlines in an injection-molded plastic part. The effect of induction heating conditions on the weldline strength and surface appearance of an injection-molded part is investigated.

High-frequency induction is an efficient way to heat mold surface by electromagnetic induction in a non-contact manner. Thanks to its capability of rapid heating and cooling of mold surface, it has been recently applied to the injection molding. The present study applies the high-frequency induction heating for elimination of weldlines in an injection-molded plastic part. To eliminate weldlines, the mold temperature of the corresponding weld locations should be maintained higher than the glass transition temperature of the resin material. Through experiments, the maximum temperature of $143^{\circ}C$ is obtained on the mold surface around the elliptic coil, while the temperature of the mold plate is lower than $60^{\circ}C$. An injection molding experiment is then performed with the aid of induction heating, and the effect of induction heating conditions on the surface appearance of the weldline is investigated.
In order to investigate the characteristics of top ring groove deposit formation in diesel engine, engine test and simulation test were performed. From component analysis of used oils sampled from actual running engines, soot content in engine oil was selected as a main parameter for evaluating oil degradation. Deposit formation is highly related to soot content in lubricating oils. And high soot content oil accelerates deposit formation even in low temperature region below 26$0^{\circ}C$. In low temperature region below 26$0^{\circ}C$, deposit formation rate is mainly affected by top ring groove temperature. However, in high temperature region above 26$0^{\circ}C$, deposit formation rate is affected by soot content as well as top ring groove temperature. Therefore, soot content as well as top ring groove temperature should be kept a certain level in order to prevent troubles due to carbon deposit formation.

This paper presents an analysis of some experimental results concerning micro-structural tests, permeability measurements and strain-stress tests of four types of High-Performance Concrete, exposed to elevated temperatures (up to $700^{\circ}C$). These experimental results, obtained within the "HITECO" research programme are discussed and interpreted in the context of a recently developed mathematical model of hygro-thermal behaviour and degradation of concrete at high temperature, which is briefly presented in the Part 2 paper (Gawin, et al. 2005). Correlations between concrete permeability and porosity micro-structure, as well as between damage and cracks' volume, are found. An approximate decomposition of the thermally induced material damage into two parts, a chemical one related to cement dehydration process, and a thermal one due to micro-cracks' development caused by thermal strains at micro- and meso-scale, is performed. Constitutive relationships describing influence of temperature and material damage upon its intrinsic permeability at high temperature for 4 types of HPC are deduced. In the Part II of this paper (Gawin, et al. 2005) effect of two different damage-permeability coupling formulations on the results of computer simulations concerning hygro-thermo-mechanical performance of concrete wall during standard fire, is numerically analysed.
