열처리된 알루미늄 6061, 7075 합금의 온간 액압 성형 적용을 위한 온도 및 변형 속도 변화에 따른 변형 특성 연구 (A study on the deformation characteristic of heat-treated 6061,7075 aluminum alloy with changes of elevated temperature and strain rate for warm hydroforming)

  • The deformation behaviors of fully annealed or T6-treated 6061 and 7075 aluminum tubes are investigated at elevated temperature using uniaxial tensile test. Fully annealed 6061 and 7075 tube, and T6-treated 7075 tube do not show sharp local necking with an elongation of $50\%$ at tensile temperature of $300^{\circ}C$, accordingly, it is expected that warm hydroforming process can be applied. The increase of tensile temperature does not significantly affect the total elongation of T6-treated 6061 tube.

  • This study is on the constant-current stress corrosion test related to the load stress in welded zone and non-welded zone of high tensile strength steel for natural gas transmission. The surface corrosion pattern of the welded zone of API 5L-X65 specimens for natural gas transmission showed global corrosion and narrow pitting, and the pitting was increased by increasing the load stress. Initially, the average relative electrode potential and the average relative current of the high tensile strength steel for natural gas transmission specimens was decreased suddenly, and the average relative electrode potential was higher and the average relative current was lower in welded zone than base metal. and the average relative electrode potential was decreased by increasing the load stress, and the average relative current was somewhat increased by increasing the load stress. The corrosion rate was less in welded zone than base metal, and the corrosion rate was decreased by increasing the load stress.

Numerical simulation of the effect of bedding layer geometrical properties on the punch shear test using PFC3D

  • In this research the effect of bedding layer angle and bedding layer thickness on the shear failure mechanism of concrete has been investigated using PFC3D. For this purpose, firstly calibration of PFC3d was performed using Brazilian tensile strength. Secondly punch shear test was performed on the bedding layer. Thickness of layers were 5 mm, 10 mm and 20 mm. in each thickness layer, layer angles changes from $0^{\circ}$ to $90^{\circ}$ with increment of $25^{\circ}$. Totally 15 model were simulated and tested by loading rate of 0.016 mm/s. The results show that when layer angle is less than $50^{\circ}$, tensile cracks initiates between the layers and propagate till coalesce with model boundary. Its trace is too high. With increasing the layer angle, less layer mobilizes in failure process. Also, the failure trace is very short. It's to be note that number of cracks decrease with increasing the layer thickness. The minimum shear punch test strength was occurred when layer angle is more than $50^{\circ}$. The maximum value occurred in $0^{\circ}$. Also, the shear punch test tensile strength was increased by increasing the layer thickness.

  • In conventional SCC susceptibility test, there are constant strain test, constant load test, slow strain rate test(SSRT) and K$_{ISCC}$ test. Among them, the SSRT method is much more aggressive in producing SCC than the other tests, so that the test time of it is considerably reduced. But this SSRT method has mostly been worked using the uniaxial tensile specimen untill now. Therefore, the SSRT method using the tensile specimen(Ten-SSRT) has much difficulty in SCC susceptibility evaluation of a localized region like weldment and the advantage material of high order. Recentely, the small punch(SP) test method using miniaturized small specimen is the very effective test method for fracture strength evaluation of a localized region like weldment and fusion reactor wall irradiated in the nuclear power plant. This paper investigated the possibility of SCC susceptibility evaluation by the SP-SSRT method using the miniaturized small specimen. Therefore, we obtained the result that the SP-SSRT had the possibility for the evaluations of SCC susceptibility for shorter time to corrosive environment compare to Ten-SSRT which was conventional method.

  • This paper is concerned with the thermo-mechanical behavior including temperature dependent strain-rate sensitivity of steel sheet for an auto-body. In order to identify the temperature dependent strain-rate sensitivity of SPRC35R and SPRC45E, uniaxial tension tests are performed with the variation of the strain-rates from 0.001 /sec to 200 /sec at environmental temperatures varied from $-40^{\circ}C\;to\;200^{\circ}C$. The thermo-mechanical response at the quasi-static state is obtained with the static tensile test and at the intermediate strain-rate is from the high speed tensile test. Experimental results show that the strain-rate sensitivity increases at low temperature. It represents that as the strain-rate increases, the variation of flow stress becomes sensitive on the temperature. The results indicate that the flow stress of SPRC35R is more dependent on the changes of strain-rate and temperature than those of SPRC45E.

디스크 시험 및 수소처리 인장시험에 의한 수소배관용 고질소 스테인리스강의 내수소취성 평가 연구 (Investigation on Resistance to Hydrogen Embrittlement of High Nitrogen Austenitic Steels for Hydrogen Pipe by the Disc Pressure Test and the Tensile Test on Hydrogen Pre-charged Specimens)

  • 본 연구에서는 디스크와 인장시험 등을 통해 수소취성에 대한 재료 특성을 평가하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 니켈 당량이 28.5 이상인 합금 조성과, 이와 유사한 상용 합금 조성 2종에 대해 합금을 제조하였고, 각 합금은 진공유도용해로(Vacuum Induction Melting, VIM)에서 개발 합금(이하 #1)과 상용 배관(이하 각각 #2, #3)을 재용해하여 주조재로 제조하였고, 주조 합금은 단조 및 압연하여 판재로 제조하였다. 디스크형태의 시편은 0.1~1000 bar/min의 속도로 수소와 헬륨으로 가압하여 파열압력을 측정하여 수소에 대한 특성을 평가하였고, 전기화학적 방법으로 수소처리한 인장시편과 비교군에 대해 항복강도, 인장강도, 연신률, 단면적 감소율을 확인하였다. 또한 인장시편은 주사전사현미경을 통해 파단면을 확인하였다. 디스크파열시험과 수소처리 한 시편의 인장시험을 통해, 본 연구를 통해 개발된 강종의 경우 상용 강종과 비교하여 유사한 수소취성 특성을 갖고 있음을 확인하였고, 파단면 또한 미세한 두께의 벽개파괴 특성을 보였지만 기계적 강도에 큰 영향을 미치지 않음에 따라 개발된 고질소 스테인리스강은 내수소취성이 우수한 것으로 평가 할 수 있었다.

  • 본 연구에서는 고속 충격환경을 경험하는 플라스틱 구조 소재에 대한 인장속도별 물성 평가 시험 및 구조건전성 평가에 음향방출 기법을 적용하였다. 인장속도별 물성 평가시험을 통하여 플라스틱 소재 구조물의 건전성 평가에 유용한 음향방출 신호 특성 인자들을 획득하였다. 인장속도에 따른 인장강도는 저속 인장속도 구간에서는 속도가 증가함에 따라 강도가 증가하는 특성을 보여주었으나 일정 속도 영역 이상의 고속 인장시험에서는 인장속도 증가와 무관하게 일정한 강도 값을 나타내었다. 정적 압축 구조시험에서는 음향방출 기법을 적용함으로써 플라스틱 쉘 구조물의 균열발생 시점 및 위치 등을 정확히 평가할 수 있었다.

  • This paper is to predict quality deterioration resulting from a caulking process of yoke which is a part of automotive steering system. The caluking is a plastic deformation process involving such as impact of high speed tool, contacts between part and fixtures and strain rate sensitivity of the part material. Elaborate application of finite element method is neccesary to calculate changes of part dimensions because they fall into a level of tolerances. Simple work hardening and strain rate sensitive model is proposed fur the material and applied for the simulation by using Abaqus which is able to cater for elastoplastic rate sensitive material and contacts. Numerical results of test models that represent tensile bar and tensile plate are compared with material data inputs. Dimensional changes for the yoke are calculated from simulations and compared to the mesurements and they show good agreement. The method presented here with the material model proved to be valuable to assess quality deterioration for similar metal forming processes.

The surface corrosion pattern of the welded zone of API 5L-X65 specimens for natural gas transmission showed general corrosion and narrow pitting, and the pitting was increased with load stress. Initially, the average relative electrode potential and the average relative current of the high tensile strength steel, used for natural gas transmission specimens, were decreased rapidly, and the average relative electrode potential was higher and the average relative current was lower in welded zone, compared to base metal. The average relative electrode potential was decreased with load stress, and the average relative current was somewhat increased by increasing the load stress. The corrosion rate was less in welded zone, compared to base metal, and the corrosion rate was decreased by increasing the load stress.
