  • A Quadrature phase detector for high-speed delay-locked loop is introduced. The proposed Quadrature phase detector is composed of two nor gates and it determines if the phase difference of two input clocks is 90 degrees or not. The delay locked loop circuit including the Quadrature phase detector is fabricated in a 0.18 urn standard CMOS process and it operates at 5 ㎓ frequency. The phase error of the delay-locked loop is maximum 2 degrees and the circuits are robust with voltage, temperature variations.

  • Train radio system has been constructed in the second stage of Kyung-bu high speed railway adopting TETRA(Terrestial trunk radio) standard at 851MHz frequency band. The base stations of the train radio system should be located along railway track to ensure seamless communication between train and wayside taking the path loss of train radio propagation into consideration. This paper provides a quantitative analysis of the path loss characteristics based on the measurement results of the train radio propagation along the high speed railway. The free space propagation model and Okumura-Hata model are generally used for base station design, but they predicted 10dB lower or 20dB higher than the measured path loss. Linear regression of the field measured data by applying the log-distance model shows path loss exponent is in the 2.8-3.2 range, which can be used to predict the path loss of the train radio propagation.

  • In order to prevent interference and interference of the frequency, it is required to convert the regulatory standard into the center of the radiation power radiated to the actual public. Since the radiation power regulation is related to general radio management such as technical standards, permits, and inspections, it is gradually introduced in consideration of applicability and urgency, and the radiation power related laws of major countries And a method of controlling the output of the radio equipment such as measurement, inspection, and authentication. In Korea, the proportion of antenna power supply is high, and in Europe, radiation power is high. Since the number of radio stations will increase and diversify in the future, institutional improvement should be made so that it can be measured in parallel with the radiocommunication infrastructure of the space manager. In order to convert to the radiative power management system, the system for the related radio system needs(Technical standards, certification, inspection of radio stations, post-management, etc.) to be improved.

  • This paper deals with the analysis of characteristics of the scale non-uniformly formed on the surface of the steel during the steel production processes. The steel made at the high temperature contacts with the oxygen in the air, so forms the scale immediately. The scale has a role to protect the surface of the steel product as a oxide-layer, but the scale formed non-uniformly spoils the exterior of the steel product and occurs the problems about the next processes. There is a pickling process to remove the scale of the steel products, but the real situation is that the pickling process is not also based on the analysis of the characteristics of the scale. Therefore, this paper describe the procedures of the analysis of the scale more effectively using the radio-frequency wave. Using the radio-frequency wave, this paper introduce the experimentations to analyze the distributions of scale, the junction characteristics between the surface of steel and scale and the distributions of scale on the produced steel coil. Also, according to the simple simulations, this paper proves the proprieties about the above contents.

  • Wireless telecommunication frequency band becomes wider with the development of modern telecommunication technology, and highly integrated semiconductors are applied more at high speed tain system. RFI susceptibilities of the integrated power semiconductors in high speed train system influence much on the system safety. RFI susceptibility standards and measurement methods in high speed train system at wireless telecommunication frequency band is surveyed in this research.

  • By the development of medical devices, high-frequency medical devices are becoming widely used. Imaging diagnosis in hospital and clean treatment by high-frequency medical devices and cancer treatment through high-frequency heaters around us, all serve as the examples. However, it still lacks the measures to the problems of the RF(Radio Frequency) mutual interference between the high-frequency devices. In order to prevent the problematic factors for technical and industrial development, a new reasonable and suitable test method is required. In this paper, we study a standard test method for EMC evaluation to solve the RF mutual interference.

  • In this paper, the study was carried out to design and implement the medical compound stimulator based on the preexisting individual medical stimulators with Low frequency, High frequency and cooling stimulation. The proposed equipment is designed to compound all the functions including a cooling stimulation with a range of $0{\sim}20^{\circ}C$ and the verified low and high frequencies of 250Hz, 500Hz, 1KHz and 1MHz respectively from the previous clinical experiment with a consideration of its credibility and efficiency. Also, it was constructed by using a new technique, thermoelectricity semiconductor with a consideration of miniaturization and stability. In accordance with patients' treatment purpose, the hand piece of low frequency/cooling stimulation and High frequency/cooling stimulation were separately designed for convenience. The frequency, accuracy and other factors of implemented medical compound stimulator was satisfied according to its measurement. It was also tested by Korean Testing Laboratory (KTL) for its stability and efficacy and it confirmed that the medical compound stimulator is suitable for use as it fits in with the medical equipment standards.

  • In this paper, we have proposed the pattern adjustable base station antenna for WCDMA applications. The proposed antenna consists of an omni-antenna(sleeve monopole) and two movable reflectors. The two reflectors can be controlled by mechanically and used to adjust the horizontal pattern of the base station antenna. The antenna was designed, fabricated, and measured. The antenna covers the entire WCDMA band for VSWR<1.4. The measured antenna gain is more than 15 dBi over the operating frequency range. By changing the angle (a) and the distance (d) of the antenna, the pattern adjustment of the proposed base station antenna is found to be possible.

  • First, We will briefly introduce early science results of AGN observations with KVN and KaVA. KaVA is the combined array of the Korean VLBI network (KVN) and VLBI Exploration of Radio Astronomy (VERA). These include KaVA monitoring of M87, Sgr A* and a few bright blazars and KVN Search for circular polarized Blazars. Furthermore, we will present our future plan of monitoring observation of Sgr A* and M87 with KaVA and Low Radio Power AGN multi frequency polarization survey with KVN. Because of the largeness of their centralsuper-massive black holes, we select them as top-priority sources of our key science program (KSP). The main science goals of the KaVA KSP are (1) mapping the velocity field of the M87 jet and testing magnetically-driven-jet paradigm, and (2) obtaining tightest constraints on physical properties of radio emitting region in Sgr A. High sensitivity achieved through simultaneous multifrequency phase referencing technique of KVN will allow us to explore Low Radio Power AGN cores which build majority of AGNs and therefore are important for undestanding the evolution of AGNs and of their hosts.

  • Typical channel allocation algorithms for secondary users do not include processes to reduce the frequency of switching from one channel to another caused by random interruptions by primary users, which results in high packet drops and delays. In this letter, with the purpose of decreasing the number of switches made between channels, we propose a nonparametric channel allocation algorithm that uses robust kernel density estimation to effectively schedule idle channel resources. Experiment and simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms both random and parametric channel allocation algorithms in terms of throughput and packet drops.
