Design of Multimedia Information System for the Aged (실버형 멀티미디어 정보 시스템 설계)

  • This study aims to construct the aged portal sites based on multimedia DB on the basis of request for systematic collection and management of the aged-related specific information which are spreading and construct Multimedia Information System for the Aged by developing digital contents to offer the aged-related information. It also tries to construct ontology based information repository for the aged that includes on/off-line. It extracts semantic relationship of each information by analysing the aged information, knows the hierarchical structure of each vocabulary, and designs and constructs an ontology based repository by designing function of each agent through that. It has also developed a variety of information and digital contents, constructed a systematic multimedia DB for the aged welfare homes, developed web framework which makes automatic registration of the aged welfare homes possible, and designed in order to support the use state of enterprises/homes and statistics state.

A Constrained Learning Method based on Ontology of Bayesian Networks for Effective Recognition of Uncertain Scenes (불확실한 장면의 효과적인 인식을 위한 베이지안 네트워크의 온톨로지 기반 제한 학습방법)

  • Vision-based scene understanding is to infer and interpret the context of a scene based on the evidences by analyzing the images. A probabilistic approach using Bayesian networks is actively researched, which is favorable for modeling and inferencing cause-and-effects. However, it is difficult to gather meaningful evidences sufficiently and design the model by human because the real situations are dynamic and uncertain. In this paper, we propose a learning method of Bayesian network that reduces the computational complexity and enhances the accuracy by searching an efficient BN structure in spite of insufficient evidences and training data. This method represents the domain knowledge as ontology and builds an efficient hierarchical BN structure under constraint rules that come from the ontology. To evaluate the proposed method, we have collected 90 images in nine types of circumstances. The result of experiments indicates that the proposed method shows good performance in the uncertain environment in spite of few evidences and it takes less time to learn.

Studies on Gene Expression of baicalin treated in HL-60 cell line using High-throughput Gene Expression Analysis Techniques (Baicalin을 처리한 HL-60 백혈병 세포주에서 대규모 유전자 분석 발현 연구)

  • Baicalin, a biologically active flavonoid form the roots of Scutallaria baicalensis (Skullcap), have been reported to not only function as anti-oxidants but also cause anticancer effect. We investigated the mechanism of baicalin-induced cytotoxicity and the macro scale gene expression analysis in leukemia cell line, HL-60 cells. Baicalin (10 μM) were used to treat the cells for 6h, 12h, 24h, 48h and 72h. In a human cDNAchip study of 65,000 genes evaluated 6, 12, 24, 48. 72 hours after treated with Baicalin in HL-60 cells. Hierarchical cluster against the genes which showed expression changes by more than two fold. One hundred one genes were grouped into 6 clusters according to their profile of expression by a hierarchical clustering algorithm. For genes differentially expressed in response to baicalin treatment, we tested functional classes based on Gene Ontology (GO) terms. This study provides the most comprehensive available survey of gene expression changes in response to baicalin treatment in HL-60 cell line.

  • 인터넷의 급속한 성장과 더불어 사용자들은 인터넷을 통해 많은 정보를 얻을 수 있게 되었으며 최신 뉴스를 실시간으로 접근할 수 있게 되었다. 이에 따라 방대한 정보 속에 사용자 관심사에 맞는 정보를 효과적으로 검색하기 위한 여러 방법들이 연구되어 왔다. 하지만 기존의 많은 선행 연구들은 단어 빈도 기반의 키워드 벡터 모델을 이용하여 사용자의 관심사를 학습하고 있다. 이러한 키워드 벡터 모델은 사용자의 선호도를 명확하게 기술하지 못하고 키워드를 이용한 특징 벡터 (feature-vector)는 개념들 사이의 관계를 찾기 어려운 한계를 가지고 있다. 이를 개선하기 위해 본 논문에선 계층적 개념 인덱싱(Hierarchical Concept Indexing)을 이용한 온톨로지 형태의 개인화된 사용자 프로파일을 만드는 방법을 제안한다. 생성된 사용자 프로파일에 개념 간의 유사도와 개념에 대한 사용자의 관심도를 고려하여 보다 개인의 선호도에 맞는 기사를 제공한다. 실험에서는 제안된 방법의 성능 평가를 위해서 기존의 키워드 벡터 모델의 학습 방법인 WebMate 시스템과 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과 제안하는 방법이 키워드 벡터를 이용한 학습 방법보다 향상된 성능을 보였다.

Representing City Image as Regional Geographic Knowledge: Ontology Modeling Approach (온톨로지 방법론을 이용한 지역지리 지식으로서 도시이미지의 표현)

  • Nowadays, the navigation system is very popular to general public and the study of landmarks has an important role to develop the cognitive systems for regional navigation. The city image is composed of landmarks that are well-known to regional community and they are the reference frame for place recognition in urban navigation. In general, the case of navigation can be categorized as two kinds. The first is to explore the new region and the second is to navigate the familiar region. In case of latter, the city image has a critical role in place recognition for regional community. Place recognition of a community might be a knowledge-based inference on the basis of city image which is composed of the systematically connected places. In this study, the mental structure of urban image is regarded as a hierarchical knowledge and represents it as domain ontology for the regional navigation of a community. The city image of a community is assumed as the collection of landmarks, which are categorized as anchor, distant and local according to spatial familiarity of community. Representing city image as a regional knowledge using ontology modeling method is an essential step to make the geographical assumption of a regional community explicit and reusable for the regional agents who will provide the regional guide in LBS age.

  • In this paper, the purpose of this paper is to lay the foundation for the search system by using and building an online search engine suitable for the search domain and enabling search, conversion, integration and sharing of information. It is to use the ontology to infer hierarchical relationships, deduce objects based on that layer, and extract attributes to search areas that are relevant to the data that the user wants. In order to search for information in this way, the information search system was implemented by entering key words related to 'qualifications'. The implemented system arranged the meaning and relationship of each attribute online so that the general public can search information quickly, easily, and accurately. In addition, the implementation results were compared with two different search engines. Comparable search engines are Naver and Daum, the two major search engines. The search engine of this study, which was built using an ontology suitable for the search domain to perform searches using the semantic web, was evaluated to have excellent results. However, it is thought that a more formalized online location is necessary to increase the accuracy and reliability of search engines and to include more comprehensive categories of search terms.

  • In this paper, It has been emphasized of important path access during transmit of node when each node transmit broadcast service which one's of new MANET (Mobile Ad hoc Networks) of autonomy and mobility network structures. It has proposed analysis methods are hierarchical path structure of transmit which experience context aware through confidence to network connectivity alone as issue which can be reduce duplicate of beam forming on networks and maintenance one's of method got to optimized of transmission network that status information of context awareness using ad hoc ODDMRP(Ontology Doppler effect Dynamic Multicast Routing Protocol) path method.

  • 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅에 대한 연구의 일환으로 사용자의 상황이나 의도를 파악하여 최적의 서비스를 제공하는 방법에 대한 연구가 활성화되고 있다. 최근 이러한 연구의 일환으로 온톨로지를 이용한 상황인식 시스템이 제기되고 있는데, 이는 컨텍스트에 대한 다양한 표현력 및 뛰어난 확장성을 가지고 있기 때문이다. 본 논문에서는 기존 연구에서 부족했던 컨텍스트의 정형화된 표현 및 다양한 도메인에 대한 확장성을 보완한 온톨로지 기반의 Context-awareness Framework 을 설계하였다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 Framework 은 하위 컨텍스트를 사전처리 및 Fuzzy 를 이용하여 상위 컨텍스트로 변환하며 이를 하나의 통합된 컨텍스트인 상황(Situation)으로 표현함으로써 추론 및 서비스를 유연하게 제공할 수 있다.

  • In this paper, we design a semantic-based syllabus template including learning ontologies. A syllabus has been considered as a important blueprint of teaching in universities. However, the current syllabus has no importance in real world because most of all syllabus management systems provide simple functionalities such as, creation, modification, and retrieval. In this paper, our approach consists of definition of hierarchical structure of syllabus and semantic relationships of syllabuses, formalization of learning goals, learning activity, and learning evaluation using Bloom's taxonomy and design of learning subject ontologies for improving the usability of syllabus. We prove the correctness of our proposed methods according to implementing a real syllabus for JAVA programing course and experiments for retrieving syllabuses.

Designing Schemes to Associate Basic Semantics Register with RDF/OWL (기본의미등록기의 RDF/OWL 연계방안에 관한 연구)

  • The Basic Semantic Register(BSR) is and official ISO register designed for interoperability among eBusiness and EDI systems. The entities registered in the current BSR are not defined in a machine-understandable way, which renders automatic extraction of structural and relationship information from the register impossible. The purpose of this study is to offer a framework for designing an ontology that can provide semantic interoperability among BSR-based systems by defining data structures and relationships with RDF and OWL, similar meaning by the 'equivalentClass' construct in OWL, the hierachical relationships among classes by the 'subClassOf' construct in RDF schema, definition of any entities in BSR by the 'label' construct in RDF schema, specification of usage guidelines by the 'comment' construct in RDF schema, assignment of classes to BSU's by the 'domain' construct in RDF schema, specification of data types of BSU's by the 'range' construct in RDF schema. Hierarchical relationships among properties in BSR can be expressed using the 'subPropertyOf' in RDF schema. Progress in semantic interoperability can be expected among BSR-based systems through applications of semantic web technology suggested in this study.
