  • For Many enterprises are creating and handling huge amount of data in their business administration. However, it would be impossible for general databases such as Relational Databases, hierarchical databases, and network databases to manage and analyze this large amount of document data efficiently and effectively. So, in this paper, we define document databases and check out their characteristics such as consistency and transaction. And we propose appropriate or inappropriate subjects for application of document databases.

Flooding Level Cluster-based Hierarchical Routing Algorithm For Improving Performance in Multi-Hop Wireless Sensor Networks (멀티홉 무선 센서 네트워크 환경에서 성능 향상을 위한 플러딩 레벨 클러스터 기반 계층적 라우팅 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, a routing algorithm for wireless sensor networks is proposed to improve the efficiency of energy consumption in sensor nodes. Each sensor node has the value called ‘Flooding Level’ obtained through the initial flooding from a sink node instead of sending beacon messages in multi-hop sensor field. This value can be used for guaranteeing the sensor nodes to connect with a sink node and determining the roles of cluster-head and cluster-gateway node efficiently and simply during the clustering. If different algorithms are added to our protocol, it will work better in the side of energyefficiency. This algorithm is evaluated through analysis and extensive simulations.

  • Today, the management environments of intelligence firm are changing the way of production planning and logistics management, and are changing the process of supply chain management system. This paper shows the development of information system software for intelligence enterprises is used in supply chain management for robot engineering industry. Specifically, supply chain management system in this paper has been developed to analyze the impact of multi plant and multi distribution environment, showing the process analysis and system development of hierarchical assembly manufacturing industry. In this paper we consider a production planning and distribution management system of intelligence firm in the supply chain. We focus on a capacitated production resource and distribution volume allocation problem, develop a mixed integer programming model, and propose an efficient heuristic procedure using a genetic algorithm to solve it efficiently. This method makes it possible for the population to reach the feasible approximate solution easily. The proposed regeneration procedures, which evaluate each infeasible chromosome, makes the solution converge to the feasible approximate solution quickly.

  • This paper addresses the design of srTCM (single rate Three Color Marker) described in RFC2697. It has proposed for srTCM to be used at the ingress of Differentiated Service network that provides AF PHB (Assured Forwarding Per Hop Behavior). srTCM is the marker with the metering function, and consists of the token updating function and the marking function. The token updating function uses the dual token bucket. The marking function compares the token values with the length of input packet, and then marks the result into IP QoS field (ToS field). This paper designs srTCM function and then implements it in one chip using VHDL and FPGA technology.

  • In large-scale MANETs, the performance of MANET routing protocols is degraded significantly. To avoid this, zone-based hierarchical architecture is proposed. In this architecture, single large-scale MANET is divided into multiple small-scale MANETs. In this paper, we propose autoconfiguration-coupled MANET routing protocol to reduce routing overhead of mim user nodes. If MANET routing protocol utilizes the autoconfigured information of each user node, its overhead or procedure can be reduced. Proposed method shows the degradation of routing overhead of user nodes via simulation.

Development of an Agricultural Data Middleware to Integrate Multiple Sensor Networks for an Farm Environment Monitoring System

  • Purpose: The objective of this study is to develop a data middleware for u-IT convergence in agricultural environment monitoring, which can support non-standard data interfaces and solve the compatibility problems of heterogenous sensor networks. Methods: Six factors with three different interfaces were chosen as target data among the environmental monitoring factors for crop cultivation. PostgresSQL and PostGIS were used for database and the data middleware was implemented by Python programming language. Based on hierarchical model design and key-value type table design, the data middleware was developed. For evaluation, 2,000 records of each data access interface were prepared. Results: Their execution times of File I/O interface, SQL interface and HTTP interface were 0.00951 s/record, 0.01967 s/record and 0.0401 s/record respectively. And there was no data loss. Conclusions: The data middleware integrated three heterogenous sensor networks with different data access interfaces.

A Study on Energy Efficient Self-Organized Clustering for Wireless Sensor Networks (무선 센서 네트워크의 자기 조직화된 클러스터의 에너지 최적화 구성에 관한 연구)

  • Efficient energy consumption is a critical factor for deployment and operation of wireless sensor networks (WSNs). To achieve energy efficiency there have been several hierarchical routing protocols that organize sensors into clusters where one sensor is a cluster-head to forward messages received from its cluster-member sensors to the base station of the WSN. In this paper, we propose a self-organized clustering method for cluster-head selection and cluster based routing for a WSN. To select cluster-heads and organize clustermembers for each cluster, every sensor uses only local information and simple decision mechanisms which are aimed at configuring a self-organized system. By these self-organized interactions among sensors and selforganized selection of cluster-heads, the suggested method can form clusters for a WSN and decide routing paths energy efficiently. We compare our clustering method with a clustering method that is a well known routing protocol for the WSNs. In our computational experiments, we show that the energy consumptions and the lifetimes of our method are better than those of the compared method. The experiments also shows that the suggested method demonstrate properly some self-organized properties such as robustness and adaptability against uncertainty for WSN's.

Implementation of Multi-channel Communication System for Drone Swarms Control (군집 드론의 동시제어를 위한 멀티채널 송신 시스템 구현)

  • Communication technologies hold a significant place in the swarm flight of drones for surveillance, inspection of disasters and calamities, entertainment performances, and drone collaborations. A GCS(ground control station) for the control of drone swarms needs its devoted communication method to control a large number of drones at the same time. General drone controllers control drones by connecting transmitters and drones in 1:1. When such an old communication method is employed to control many drones simultaneously, problems can emerge with the control of many transmitter modules connected to a GCS and frequency interference among them. This study implemented a transmitter controller to control many drones simultaneously with a communication chip of 2.4GHz ISM band and a Cortex M4-based board. It also designed a GCS to control many transmitter controllers via a network. The hierarchical method made it possible to control many more drones. In addition, the problem with frequency interference was resolved by implementing a time- and frequency-sharing method, controlling many drones simultaneously, and adding the frequency hopping feature. If PPM and S.BUS protocol features are added to it, it will be compatible with more diverse transmitters and drones.

Biased Multistage Inter connection Network in Multiprocessor System (다중프로세서 시스템에서 편향된 다단계 상호연결망)

  • There has been a lot of researches to develop techniques that provide redundant paths, there by making Multistage Interconnection Networks(MINs) fault tolerant. So far, the redundant paths in MINs have been realized by adding additional hardware such as extra stages or duplicated data links. This paper presents a new MIN topology called Hierarchical MIN. The proposed MIN is constructed with 2.5N-4 switching elements, which are much fewer than that of the classical MINs. Even though there are fewer hardware than the classical MINs, the HMIN possesses the property of full access and also provides alternative paths for the fault tolerant. Furthermore, since there is the short cut in HMIN for the localized communication, it takes advantage of exploiting the locality of reference in multiprocessor systems. Its performance under varying degrees of localized communication is analysed and simulated.

An Energy-Aware Cooperative Communication Scheme for Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks (무선 멀티미디어 센서 네트워크에서 에너지 효율적인 협력 통신 방법)

  • Numerous clustering schemes have been proposed to increase energy efficiency in wireless sensor networks. Clustering schemes consist of a hierarchical structure in the sensor network to aggregate and transmit data. However, existing clustering schemes are not suitable for use in wireless multimedia sensor networks because they consume a large quantity of energy and have extremely short lifetime. To address this problem, we propose the Energy-Aware Cooperative Communication (EACC) method which is a novel cooperative clustering method that systematically adapts to various types of multimedia data including images and video. An evaluation of its performance shows that the proposed method is up to 2.5 times more energy-efficient than the existing clustering schemes.
