In this paper, we concentrate on data allocation methods for multiple broadcast channels. When the server broadcasts data, the important issue is to let mobile clients access requested data rapidly. Previous works first sorted data by their access probabilities and allocate the sorted data to the multiple channels by partitioning them into multiple channels. However, they do not reflect the difference of access probabilities among data allocated in the same channel. This paper proposes ZGMD allocation method. ZGMD allocates data item on multiple channels so that the difference of access probability in the same channel is maximized. ZGMD allocates sorted data to each channels and applies Broadcast Disk in each channel. ZGMD requires a proper indexing scheme for the performance improvement. This is because in ZGMD method each channel got allocated both hot and cold data. As a result, the sequential search heuristic does not allow the mobile client to access hot data items quickly. The proposed index scheme is based on using dedicated index channels in order to search the data channel where the requested data is. We show that our method achieve the near-optimal performance in terms of the average access time and significantly outperforms the existing methods.
For developing the location based service which is individualized and specialized according to the characteristic of the users, the spatio-temporal pattern mining for extracting the meaningful and useful patterns among the various patterns of the mobile object on the spatio-temporal area is needed. Thus, in this paper, as the practical application toward the development of the location based service in which it is able to apply to the real life through the pattern mining from the huge historical data of mobile object, we are proposed STOMP(using Frequency of sequence and Weight) that is the new mining method for extracting the patterns with spatial and temporal constraint based on the problems of mining the optimal moving pattern which are defined in STOMP(F)[25]. Proposed method is the pattern mining method compositively using weighted value(weights) (a distance, the time, a cost, and etc) for our previous research(STOMP(F)[25]) that it uses only the pattern frequent occurrence. As to, it is the method determining the moving pattern in which the pattern frequent occurrence is above special threshold and the weight is most a little bit required among moving patterns of the object as the optimal path. And also, it can search the optimal path more accurate and faster than existing methods($A^*$, Dijkstra algorithm) or with only using pattern frequent occurrence due to less accesses to nodes by using the heuristic moving history.
Network intrusion detection system based on machine learning method such as artificial neural network is quite dependent on the selected features in terms of accuracy and efficiency. Nevertheless, choosing the optimal combination of features, which guarantees accuracy and efficienty, from generally used many features to detect network intrusion requires extensive computing resources. In this paper, we deal with a optimal feature selection problem to determine 6 denial service attacks and normal usage provided by NSL-KDD data. We propose a optimal feature selection algorithm. Proposed algorithm is based on the multi-start local search algorithm, one of representative meta-heuristic algorithm for solving optimization problem. In order to evaluate the performance of our proposed algorithm, comparison with a case of all 41 features used against NSL-KDD data is conducted. In addtion, comparisons between 3 well-known machine learning methods (multi-layer perceptron., Bayes classifier, and Support vector machine) are performed to find a machine learning method which shows the best performance combined with the proposed feature selection method.
Since the traditional pattern mining methods only probe unspecified moving patterns that seem to satisfy users' requests among diverse patterns within the limited scopes of time and space, they are not applicable to problems involving the mining of optimal moving patterns, which contain complex time and space constraints, such as 1) searching the optimal path between two specific points, and 2) scheduling a path within the specified time. Therefore, in this paper, we illustrate some problems on mining the optimal moving patterns with complex time and space constraints from a vast set of historical data of numerous moving objects, and suggest a new moving pattern mining method that can be used to search patterns of an optimal moving path as a location-based service. The proposed method, which determines the optimal path(most frequently used path) using pattern frequency retrieved from historical data of moving objects between two specific points, can efficiently carry out pattern mining tasks using by space generalization at the minimum level on the moving object's location attribute in consideration of topological relationship between the object's location and spatial scope. Testing the efficiency of this algorithm was done by comparing the operation processing time with Dijkstra algorithm and $A^*$ algorithm which are generally used for searching the optimal path. As a result, although there were some differences according to heuristic weight on $A^*$ algorithm, it showed that the proposed method is more efficient than the other methods mentioned.

This paper suggests O(n2) polynomial time heuristic algorithm for corporate tax structure optimization problem that has been classified as NP-complete problem. The proposed algorithm constructs tax tree levels that the target holding company is located at root node of Level 1, and the tax code categories(Te) 1,4,3,2 are located in each level 2,3,4,5 sequentially. To find the maximum tax-relief path from source(S) to target(T), firstly we connect the minimum witholding tax rate minrw(u, v) arc of node u point of view for transfer the profit from u to v node. As a result we construct the spanning tree from all of the source nodes to a target node, and find the initial feasible solution. Nextly, we find the alternate path with minimum foreign tax rate minrfi(u, v) of v point of view. Finally we choose the minimum tax-relief path from of this two paths. The proposed heuristic algorithm performs better optimal results than linear programming and Tabu search method that is a kind of metaheuristic method.

Ant System(AS) is new meta heuristic for hard combinatorial optimization problem. It is a population based approach that uses exploitation of positive feedback as well as greedy search. It was first proposed for tackling the well known Traveling Salesman Problem. In this paper, AS is applied to the Multicast Routing Problem. Multicast Routing is modeled as the NP-complete Steiner tree problem. This is the shortest path from source node to all destination nodes. We proposed new AS to resolve this problem. The proposed method selects the neighborhood node to consider all costs of the edge and the next node in state transition rule. Also, The edges which are selected elite agents are updated to additional pheromone. Simulation results of our proposed method show fast convergence and give lower total cost than original AS and $AS_{elite}$.

Ant Colony System is a new meta heuristics algorithms to solve hard combinatorial optimization problems. It is a population based approach that uses exploitation of positive feedback as well as greedy search. It was first proposed for tackling the well known Traveling Salesman Problem. In this paper, we propose the searching method to consider the overlapping edge of the global best path of the previous and the current. This method is that we first determine the overlapping edge of the global best path of the previous and the current will be configured likely the optimal path. And, to enhance the pheromone for the overlapping edges increases the probability that the optimal path is configured. Finally, the performance of Best and Average-Best of proposed algorithm outperforms ACS-3-opt, ACS-Subpath and ACS-Iter algorithms.

The printing process can have to print various colors with a limited capacity of printing facility such as ink containers that are needed cleaning to change color. In each container, cleaning time exists to assign corresponding inks, and it is considered as the setup cost required to reduce the increasing productivity. The existing manual method, which is based on the worker's experience or intuition, is difficult to respond to the diversification of color requirements, mathematical modeling and algorithms are suggested for efficient scheduling. In this study, we propose a new type of scheduling problem for the printing process. First, we suggest a mathematical model that optimizes the color assignment and scheduling. Although the suggested model guarantees global optimality, it needs a lot of computational time to solve. Thus, we decompose the original problem into sequencing orders and allocating ink problems. An approximate function is used to compute the job scheduling, and local search heuristic based on 2-opt algorithm is suggested for reducing computational time. In order to verify the effectiveness of our method, we compared the algorithms' performance. The results show that the suggested decomposition structure can find acceptable solutions within a reasonable time. Also, we present schematized results for field application.
This paper proposes quay crane (QC) scheduling algorithms that determine the working sequence of QCs over ship bays in a container vessel in automated container terminals. We propose two scheduling algorithms that examine the distribution of export containers in the stacking yard and determine the sequence of ship bays to balance the workload distribution among the yard blocks. One of the algorithms is a simple heuristic algorithm which dynamically selects the next ship bay based on the entropy of workloads among yard blocks whenever a QC finishes loading containers at a ship bay and the other uses genetic algorithm to search the optimal sequence of ship bays. To evaluate the fitness of each chromosome in the genetic algorithm, we have devised a method that is able to calculate an approximation of loading time of container vessels considering the workloads among yard blocks. Simulation experiments have been carried out to compare the efficiency of the proposed algorithms. The results show that our QC scheduling algorithms are efficient in reducing the turn-around time of container vessels.

Intra-block remarshalling is the task of rearranging into some target bays those containers whim are scattered around the block, so that the containers can be loaded onto the ship ffficiently. Howeuer, if we rearrange the containers without considering the container larding sequence, too mud! rehandling work will be required at the time rf larding to fetch the right containers whim are stacked under the wrong ones. Therefore, the remarshalling should be done by moving the relevant containers in an appropriate order. This paper presents an efficient heuristic search technique for finding an appropriate container moving order during remarshalling to avoid rehandling at the time of larding. Simulation experiments have shown that the proposed method can generate rehandling-free solutions in a real time.
