  • Wireless multicast service can be used for video streaming service to save the network resources by sending the same popular multimedia contents to a group of users at once. For better multimedia streaming multicast service, we propose a quality-aware rate adaptation (QARA) scheme for scalable video multicast in rate adaptive wireless networks. In QARA, transmission rate is determined depending on the content's type and users' channel conditions. First, the base layer is transmitted by a low rate for high reliability. That means we provide basic service quality to all users. On the contrary, the transmission rate for enhancement layer is adapted by using channel condition feedback from a randomly selected node. So, the enhancement layer frames in a multimedia content is sent with various transmission rates. Therefore, each node can be provided with differentiated quality services. Consequently, QARA is capable of serving heterogeneous population of mobile nodes. Moreover, it can utilize network resources more efficiently. Our simulation results show that QARA outperforms utilization of the available transmission rate and reduces the data transmission time.

  • The business environment of enterprises could be difficult to obviate redundancy to filtrate data source occurred on data integrated to standard rules and meta-data and to produce integration of data and single viewer in geographical and spatial distributed environment. Specially, To can interchange various data from a heterogeneous system or various applications without types and forms and synchronize continually exactly integrated information#s is of paramount concern. Therefore data hub system based on SQL/XMDR message to overcome a problem of meaning interoperability occurred on exchanging or jointing between each legacy systems are proposed in this paper. This system use message mapping technique of query transform system to maintain data modified in real-time on cooperating data. It can consistently maintain data modified in realtime on exchanging or jointing data for cooperating legacy systems, it improve clarity and availability of data by providing a single interface on data retrieval.

  • Various kind of business process exists within enterprise. These business processes achieve business purposes while operate and control using eAI solution. However legacy systems-ERP, PDM are able to many cooperations and interoperability. Generally real data is becoming interoperability using query based on store-procedure on legacy system for business process transaction. Also, It may occur some problems among schema conversion, matching, mapping and other heterogeneous between data interoperability in process. We propose business process interoperability framework based on XMDR Hub that can guarantee interoperability between legacy systems using process that is consisted of SQL query based on store-procedure. It is easy to process data interoperability between legacy systems when business process execute.

  • Due to the improvement of mobile device capabilities, a demand for various contents service is increasing. But the differences from heterogeneous mobile devices force to develop contents which is dependent on a mobile. To solve this problem, adaptation course that reorganize contents by the device capability is hooded. In this course, device description is described using device description language but there are some problems that is absence of device description repository and the way to get device description data. In this paper, I suggest device description acquisition module and define the interfaces to access device description repository that I designed and implemented.

  • As tactical networks are gradually shifting toward IP-based flexible operation for diversified battlefield services, QoS(Quality-of-Service) coordination for service differentiation becomes essential to overcome the heterogeneous and scarce networking resources limitations. QoS coordination for tactical network traffic should be able to monitor and react the dynamic changes in underlying network topology and service priorities. In this paper, by adopting the emerging cloud-native service mesh concept into tactical network context, we study the feasibility of intelligent QoS coordination by employing tactical service mesh(TSM) as an additional layer to support enhanced traffic quality monitoring and control. The additional TSM layer can leverage distributed service-mesh proxies at tactical mesh WAN(Wide Area Network) nodes so that service-aware differentiated QoS coordination can be effectively designed and integrated with TSM-assisted traffic monitoring and control. Also, by validating the feasibility of TSM layer for QoS coordination with miniaturized experimental setup, we show the potential of the proposed approach with several approximated battlefield traffics over a simulated TSM-enabled tactical network.

  • Purpose The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of tie strength in the network of industrial clustering on the knowledge acquisition, integration and innovation performance of small and medium sized enterprises. We test the positive relationship of weak tie and knowledge acquisition, strong tie and knowledge integration, and the interaction effect of two tie strengths on both processes of knowledge acquisition and integration. By identifying these relationships, we can better understand how to manage the attributes of social networks in terms of tie strength in order to improve the performance of innovation for the small and medium sized enterprises. Design/methodology/approach We collect 200 survey data from 2 industrial cluster respectively: Pankyo and Guroo. In Pankyo, the proportion of IT industry is the highest (35%) while the proportion of manufacturing is highest (35%) in Guroo. Pooling the data from two industrial cluster, we check the reliability and validity of our research model and test the hypotheses. Findings First, we find the positive relationship of weak tie and knowledge acquisition from both industrial clustering. Weak tie is composed of heterogeneous organizations with various background and expertise. The communication and information sharing of organizations in the weak tie network helps the idea generation for organization's innovation, which is the knowledge acquisition process. Second, the relationship of strong tie and knowledge integration is insignificant. Typically the strong tie from long-lasting partnership is expected to be beneficial in the action stage of innovation, which is the knowledge integration process. However it is not identified in our industry cluster. Finally, the interaction effect of weak and strong tie is identified to be effective on both knowledge acquisition and integration processes.

  • With the development of computer vision systems, many advances have been made in the fields of surveillance, biometrics, medical imaging, and autonomous driving. In the field of autonomous driving, in particular, the object detection technique using deep learning are widely used, and the paved road detection is a particularly crucial problem. Unlike the ROI detection algorithm used in general object detection, the structure of paved road in the image is heterogeneous, so the ROI-based object recognition architecture is not available. In this paper, we propose a deep neural network architecture for atypical paved road detection using Semantic segmentation network. In addition, we introduce the multi-scale semantic segmentation network, which is a network architecture specialized to the paved road detection. We demonstrate that the performance is significantly improved by the proposed method.

  • Machine learning constructs an objective function from learning data, and predicts the result of the data generated by checking the objective function through test data. In machine learning, input data is subjected to a normalisation process through a preprocessing. In the case of numerical data, normalization is standardized by using the average and standard deviation of the input data. In the case of nominal data, which is non-numerical data, it is converted into a one-hot code form. However, this preprocessing alone cannot solve the problem. For this reason, we propose a method that uses ontology to normalize input data in this paper. The test data for this uses the received signal strength indicator (RSSI) value of the Wi-Fi device collected from the mobile device. These data are solved through ontology because they includes noise and heterogeneous problems.

  • Recently, M/G/1 priority queues with a finite buffer for high-priority customers and an infinite buffer for low-priority customers have applied to the analysis of communication systems with two heterogeneous traffics : delay-sensitive traffic and loss-sensitive traffic. However, these studies are limited to M/G/1 priority queues with finite and infinite buffers under a work-conserving priority discipline such as the nonpreemptive or preemptive resume priority discipline. In many situations, if a service is preempted, then the preempted service should be completely repeated when the server is available for it. This study extends the previous studies to M/G/1 priority queues with finite and infinite buffers under the preemptive repeat-different and preemptive repeat-identical priority disciplines. We derive the loss probability of high-priority customers and the waiting time distributions of high- and low-priority customers. In order to do this, we utilize the delay cycle analysis of finite-buffer M/G/1/K queues, which has been recently developed for the analysis of M/G/1 priority queues with finite and infinite buffers, and combine it with the analysis of the service time structure of a low-priority customer for the preemptive-repeat and preemptive-identical priority disciplines. We also present numerical examples to explore the impact of the size of the finite buffer and the arrival rates and service distributions of both classes on the system performance for various preemptive priority disciplines.
