Objectives : This report was performed to evaluated the treatment of Bee venom acupuncture Therapy, acupuncture Therapy, Herbal medicaion and Moxibustion in herniation of inter-vertebral disc. Methods : We treated 1 case of herniation of inter-vertebral disc with Bee venom acupuncture Therapy, acupuncture Therapy, Herbal medicaion and Moxibustion. Results : After 12 days of Bee venom acupuncture Therapy, acupuncture Therapy, Herbal medicaion and Moxibustion, a remarkable improvement was made for herniation of inter-vertebral disc. The patient couldn't feel pain on walking. Conclusion : Bee venom acupuncture Therapy, acupuncture Therapy, Herbal medicaion and Moxibustion were effective in reducing the symptoms.

Objectives : The objective of this study is to evaluate the treatment effect of Taping therapy in Herniation of Inter-Vertebral Disc. Methods : Taping therapy were performed for 31 days ambulatory care in a patient who had Herniation of Inter-Vertebral Disc. Results : Physical examination of Lumbar Spine has improved, VAS were also decreased. Conclusion: Taping therapy were effective in reducing the symptoms. We think that it need the further study and clinical trial for Herniation of Inter- Vertebral Disc.

Objectives : This research was to evaluate the MST effectiveness on iliopsoas muscle of herniated inter-vertebral disc in lumbar spine. Methods : This research was carried out with the 58 inpatients who received treatment for their HIVD in lumbar spine from January 1 to April 12, 2014 in Daejeon Jaseng hospital of oriental medicine. We randomly divided into two groups: Group A=common treatment on HIVD of L-spine without MST(acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, herb medication, chuna treating and physiotherapy) and Group B=common treatment on HIVD of L-spine with MST. To verify the MST effect, tenderness(checked by algometer pressure), NRS(numeric rating scale), and ODI(Oswestry disability index) were measured before and after treatment. The statistically significance was evaluated by SPSS 18.0 for Windows. Results : In the Group B, the tenderness was significantly decreased compared with Group A. However, on the NRS and ODI, it did not produce the meaningful results as these two values decreased in all groups. Conclusions : From this research, when patients who were diagnosed HIVD of L-spine with iliopsoas muscles tenderness receive MST additionally, the satisfaction of patients as well as physician confidence will increase.

Objective : This study was designed to find out the effect of scolopendrid aquacupuncture classified by the type of HIVD(Herniation of Inter-Vertebral Disc) in lumbar spine. Methods : The 50 patients who had a diagnosis of HIVD by lumbar-CT or lumbar-MRI and admitted to Gwangju oriental medical hospital in wonkwang university from June 2003 to March 2004 were observed. The symptom of inpatients is low back pain with or without sciatica. We treated 50 patients by scolopendrid aquacupuncture besides the general consevative treatment of oriental medicine. Results and Conclusion : The scolopendrid aquacupuncture treatment led to improvement in the pain and symptom of HIVD as determined by all efficacy measures. After scolopendrid aquacupuncture treatment, there was improvement in VAS, oswestry disability index, ROM and SLRT. The improvement index of scolopendrid aquacupuncture treatment classified by the type of HIVD showed that the effects of scolopendrid aquacupuncture had correlation with the type of HIVD. The more the herniation of intervertebral disc decreased, the more the effect of scolopendrid aquacupuncture increased. This results suggest that scolopendrid aquacupuncture is good method for treatment of HIVD but we have to consider the clinical correlation with the degree of herniation.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to report the effect of Megadose Pharmacoacupuncture combined with conservative Korean medicine treatment on Herniated InterVertebral Disc (HIVD) of lumbar spine patient diagnosed by Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). Methods This study includes 41 patients whose Lumbar Disc Herniations were by MRIbetween 1st Aprill 2011 and 31th March 2016. All of the patients were treated with Megadose Pharmacoacupuncture combined with Korean medicine treatment. The MRI examination was performed on two or more occasions (minimally, pre-treatment and post-treatment). The volume of each herniated disc was measured. For each patient, age, sex, disc migration, morphology, initial LDH size, herniated disc resorption rate were analysed. Results The mean volumes of herniated discs at pre-treatment and post-treatment were $1321.62{\pm}467.53mm^3$ and $648.72{\pm}313.38mm^3$. The volumes of all patients were decreased. The resorption means of each class of the extent of LDH were significantly different (p=0.041). On the other hand, no difference was found in sex, age, level, herniated disc grade. Conclusions The MRI results suggest that Megadose Pharmacoacupuncture combined with Korean medicine treatment can help treat lumbar herniated disc.
