  • This case study showed improvement both in pain and gait disturbance caused by SCH. KM can be a positive treatment for reducing pain or improving gait disturbance caused by SCH, and it can be considered a treatment option for SCH. Future studies with a larger number of cases and longer period of follow-up in SCH with gait disturbance and rigidity are needed.

  • Gastrointestinal (GI) hemangiomas are relatively rare benign vascular tumors. The choice of an appropriate diagnostic method depends on patient age, anatomic location, and presenting symptoms. However, GI hemangiomas are not a common suspected cause of GI bleeding in children because of their rarity. Based on medical history, laboratory results, and imaging study findings, the patient could be treated with either medication or surgery. Herein, we report 3 cases of GI hemangioma found in the small bowel, rectum, and GI tract (multiple hemangiomas). Better knowledge and understanding of GI hemangioma could help reduce the delayed diagnosis rate and prevent inappropriate management. Although rare, GI hemangiomas should be considered in the differential diagnosis of GI bleeding.

  • Laryngeal hemangioma occurs mostly in infantile patients and infantile hemangiomas can be frequently seen in the subglottic area. So, respiratory distress is a main symptom in this entity. But adult hemangiomas are rare and can be seen in different locations such as in epiglottis, aryepiglottic fold, arytenoids and false and true vocal folds. Authors experienced a case of mixed hemangioma at the right aryepiglottic fold in a 42 years-old-man who was presented with snoring, throat foreign body sense for 3 months. So, we report this case with a review of the literature.

  • Cavernous hemangiomas, one of common hemangiomas, are collections of dilated vessels deep in the dermis and subcutaneous tissue that are present at birth. Clinically they appear as pale, skin-colored, red, or blue masses that are ill defined and rounded. Like strawberry hemangiomas, the lesions enlarge for several months, become stationary for an indefinite period, and undergo spontaneous resolution. Usually, they are managed like strawberry hemangiomas, for example, compression, take corticosteroids or interferon and use lasers(pulsed dye lasers and argon lasers). It is similar to 血瘤 and 紅絲瘤 in Oriental Medicine. We observed and treated a 8 month old male infant who had been diagnosed with cavernous hemangiomas on near medial side of the right transverse cubital crease. He had been treated by lasers three times each month about 2 months after the on set of disease in another College of Medicine Hospital. However, his sign didn't any change. He first visited our clinic about 7 months after the on set of disease. bout 1 year after our treatment, herb-medication and acupuncture treatment, the volume of hemangiomas was decreased remarkably and the colour was lighter. It was tender to the touch more and more. It is very rate that someone has cavernous hemangiomas and visits Oriental Medicine Hospital. Also we don't have much the treatment experience of this disease. I expect this case will be one of the base of treatment and management on this kind of diseases.

  • We report a unique case of hemangioma of the nasal cavity in von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) syndrome. A 26-year-old female with VHL syndrome who had previously undergone surgery for pancreatic and adrenal mass presented with a 4-month history of left-sided nasal obstruction. The patient had an expansile mass lesion in the left nasal cavity and an imaging test demonstrated the mass in the left maxillary sinus extending to the nasal cavity. The tumor was removed with an endoscopic prelacrimal recess approach considering the possibility of not only a benign tumor such as hemangioma but also a malignant tumor of the maxillary sinus and histopathologic examination confirmed cavernous hemangioma. This case is the rarely reported manifestation of the paranasal sinus in VHL disease.

  • Hemangiomas in the esophagus comprise less than 3% of all benign esophageal neoplasms. They are frequently small and easily treated with resection via either endoscopy or thoracotomy. We report a cavernous hemangioma occurred in the distal esophagus successfully treated with circumferential myomectomy.

  • Hepatic hemangiomas infrequently exhibit atypical imaging features, which may cause diagnostic confusion with hepatic malignancies and lead to unnecessary surgery. We report a rare case of multilocular cystic hemangioma of the liver mimicking a mucinous cystic neoplasm of the liver in a 48-year-old female, focusing on computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging features and their differential diagnosis.

  • Hemangiomas are the most common benign tumors or tumor-like malformations of blood vessels or blood filled cavernous spaces. Hemangiomas of the oral cavity represents 14% of all hemangiomas. Most hemangiomas are detected by one year of age and most commonly occurred in the lips, tongue, buccal mucosa and palate. But hemangiomas are sometimes reported in adults. We report one case of extensive hemangioma of the tongue in adult. Our case is a 48-year-old male who presented with a hemangioma occupying entirely two-third of the tongue. Treating those lesions pose a challenge to the surgeon. This paper discusses one case of extensive tongue hemangiomas treated with alcoholic sclerotherapy with satisfactory results supporting this particular approach in the management of these lesion.

  • An occurrence of hemangioma in the mediastinum is a very rare, accounting for less than 0.5% of mediastinal tumors. Capillary hemangiomas and cavernous hemangiomas consists of over 90% of mediastinal hemangiomas. However, venous hemangioma has never been reported in South Korea and has also very rarely been reported worldwide. We found mediastinal solid mass, as an incidental finding during a follow-up chest CT scan of a 44-year-old female patient who had undergone colon cancer surgery. We performed a mediastinoscopic biopsy. We did a thoracotomy to remove this mass because hemorrhage and found a totally resected venous hemangioma.

  • Pulmonary arteriovenous fistula is a congenital vascular malformation In the lung, various synonyms including Pulmonary cavernous vascular malformation, Pulmonary arteriovenous aneurysm, Cavernous hemangioma of the lung0 Pulmonary telangiectasia, Pulmonary hamartoma, etc. The pathogenesis of its symptoms is that unoxygenated, desaturated arterial blood enters into the pulmonary venous system directly. Recently we have experienced one case of the pulmonary arteriovenous fistula which was diagnosed as the pulmonary cystic lesion of the lung preoperatively in 20 years old, 61 kg, male patient. Operation was revealed well circumscribed cystic lesion filled with blood, subpleural and anterior mediobasal location, and bright red colored aspirates on two times needle aspirations. Microscopic finding shows ill circumscribed vascular lesion composed of varying sized blood vessels with irregular thickening of wall and final pathological diagnosis is Pulmonary Arteriovenous Fistula. Basal segmentectomy was done and the patient shows good postoperative course.
