  • In the recent years, as the research and the development of micro and precision machinery become active, the interest of micro actuators using SMA(Shape Memory Alloy) has been increased. The dynamic characteristic analysis of SMA is necessary for actuator application and many common researches report the material characteristics of SMA sufficiently. However, the research on dynamic characteristics is very deficient. In this paper, the helical spring are fabricated with NiTi SMA wire of high resistivity. The force, response speed, temperature, and displacement are measured by digital force gauge, infrared thermometer, and laser displacement sensor so that the dynamic characteristics of this SMA is analyzed. Also, bidirectional actuator was fabricated and experimented for its performance.

A Study on the Radiated Noise of a Shaft-Plate System By an Axial Force (축방향력에 의한 축 플레이트계의 방사소음에 관한 연구)

  • Analogous problem for a gear dynamics where helical gears excite logitudinal forces in the shaft is studied. These shaft forces excite the supporting gear housing through bearing, causing structural vibration. In this study, shaft is modeled as a rod, and bearing is modeled by a massless spring. A simple model for gear housing is a clamped circular plate. To model this force transmission, the transfer functions from the shaft to a clamped circular plate are analytically derived by using the spectral method and four-pole parameter. Finally, radiated noise is computed, using the acoustic relations due to plate surface vibration.

  • For the purpose of investigating the free vibration response of the spatial curved beams, the governing equations are derived in matrix formats, considering the variable curvature and torsion. The theory includes all the effects of rotary inertia, shear and axial deformations. Frobenius' scheme and the dynamic stiffness method are then applied to solve these equations. A computer program is coded in Mathematica according to the proposed method. As a special case, the dynamic stiffness and further the natural frequencies of a cylindrical helical spring under fixed-fixed boundary condition are carried out. Comparison of the present results with the FEM results using body elements in I-DEAS shows good accuracy in computation and validity of the model. Further, the present model is used for reciprocal spiral rods with different boundary conditions, and the comparison with FEM results shows that only a limited number of terms in the resultant provide a relatively accurate solution.

  • 기계구조물이 고속화, 경량화 됨에 따라 더 정밀한 구조물의 설계 및 해석이 요구되어지고 있고, 이에 따라 단속적모형 보다 한 단계 더 나아가 분포변수 모형으로 구조물을 모형화하게 된다. 특히 나선형 스프링은 기계구조물에서 가장 널리 사용되는 일반적인 요소로서, 그 형상이 공간상의 굽은 봉 형상이 므로 연성된 편미분방정식 형태로 지배방정식이 기술된다. 나선형 스프링 해 석은 Michell(1890)과 Love(1899)의 정적해석을 시작으로 Phillips와 Costello [1]의 'SimpleTheory' 및 Wittrick [3]의 지배방정식등 매우 복잡한 연성된 편미분방정식 형태를 지니고 있다. 그러나 이와 같은 편미분방정식은 해석하 기가 매우 어려워 수치해법으로도 간단한 경우에 한해서만 해석하여 왔다. 본 연구에서는 이와 같은 연성된 편미분방정식을 해석하기 위하여 보다 구 조진동문제에 적합한 수치해법을 제안하고, 이를 이용하여 나선형 스프링의 강제과도진동 응답을 정확하고 효율적으로 구하였다.

AN HISTOCHEMICAL STUDY ON THE EFFECTS OF COLLAGENASE DURING THE RELAPSE PERIOD FOLLOWING RAT'S TOOTH MOVEMENT (Collagenase가 백서 치아이동 후 복귀현상에 미치는 효과에 관한 조직화학적 연구)

  • The author has observed the effects of collagenase on the relapse phenomenon and the histochemical changes during the relapse period. 50 rats were used. : 3rats as a normal group, 15rats as control groups, and 32rats as experimental groups. Rat's teeth were moved for 10days with helical spring applied, followed by injection of "collagenase in Hank's sol." to the experimental groups and the "Hank's sol." to the control group in the interdental gingiva on the 10th day, and the spring was removed on the 11th day. After injection, the experimental animals were sacrificed on the 11th, 13th, 15th, 17th, 20th, and 24th day and prepared histochemically for the Hematoxylin-Eosin, Van-Gieson, and Methyl Green-pyronin staining. The results are as follows: 1. Group I (11th day): In the control group the supracrestal fibers were stretched and the metabolic rate was high. Experimental group showed that supracrestal fibers were resor, bed, disarrayed, and the metabolic rate was low. 2. Group II (13th day): In the control group, the supracrestal fibers began to change from the vertical direction to tooth-axis to the parallel. Experimental group showed that supracrestal fibers were completely resorbed. 3. Group IV (17th day): The control group showed almost normal structure. Form this group the metabolic rates were low. Experimental group showed the most destructive pattern. 4. Group VI (24th day): Experimental group showed almost normal structure. It follows that experimental groups were relapsed less than the control groups, and collagenase was effective in the prevention of relapse after rat's experimental tooth movement.
