The purpose of this study was to examine the symbolic meaning of oriental numbers based on Yin-Yang(陰陽) theory. Based on the thought of Yin-Yang Wu-Hsing(陰陽五行), the number was divided the number of the heaven (positive number) 1, 3. 5, 7, 9 from the number cf the earth(negative number) 2. 4, 6, 8, 10. From the study on A Study on Comparison Gunhwa-ron(君火論) by Jinmutaek(陳無擇) and Sanghwa-ron(相火論) by Judangye(朱丹溪), the conclusion is as follows. Judangye(朱丹溪) said that Gunhwa(君火) is human fire[人火] and Sanghwa(相火) is heaven's fire[天火] having being opposite to the opinion of Jinmutaek(陳無擇). Jinmutaek(陳無擇) considered Gunhwa(君火) as native fire, Judangye(朱丹溪) also did Sanghwa(相火) as the source of life force. The Sanghwa(相火) that is heaven's fire[天火] mentioned by Judangye(朱丹溪) is located in part of Eum(陰) or deep part, because it based on the nothingness(虛無) to behind inside. Having become large the meaning of Gunhwa(君火) and Sanghwa(相火) defined by Jinmutaek(陳無擇) and Judangye(朱丹溪), more smaller that of Gunhwa(君火) and Sanghwa(相火) in the opposite site. Jinmutaek(陳無擇) and Judangye(朱丹溪) had difficult to state fairly about the meanings of Gunhwa(君火) and Sanghwa(相火), because of exceed intention to emphasize the importance of thier own opinions.
In this paper, we will discuss the main characteristics of Korean traditional medicine and their bond with the philosophy of Noja(老子) to ultimately examine how "Dodeokgyeong(道德經)" affected medicine as a pragmatic field of study. Noja(老子) viewed the universe and the creatures living in it to be constituted by gi(氣), and that everything continuously moves and changes as a result of the conflicts between two opposing energies within, eum(陰) and yang(陽). "Hwangjenaegyeong(黃帝內經)" is about how this theory is applied to human lives. "Dodeokgyeong" speaks of the Heaven, Human, and Do accordance, offering the theoretical basis for the correspondence between nature and human in the "Hwangjenaegyeong", where the Heaven, Human and Do(道) accordance theory is embodied into each element of the human vital activity, establishing the identity of Korean traditional medicine as natural medicine. Noja declared life in accordance with Do(道) as an ideal way to live. "Hwangjenaegyeong" applies this idea to human vital activity setting the realization of Do the ultimate goal of life and offers actual guidelines. The preventive aspect of Korean traditional medicine is the characteristic most affected by "Dodeokgyeong". "Hwangjenaegyeong" and "Dodeokgyeong" both recognized the relativity of objects, and spoke of harmony and balance as the answer to conflicts between matters.
This paper analyzes two films on the theme of love, and , which were released in 2002 and 2015 respectively, directed by Tod Haynes. Both movies have similar narratives of obstacles and overcoming of love, and deal with love that is not accepted by society. Two films conclude differently under similar situations, where the author's change can be observed. The purpose of this study is to examine the author's arguments and the process of change through comparison with the original novels and image expression method used in the films, especially focusing on the variations of characters in the original novels and Mise-en-scene and framing methods that visually depict the obstacles to the mind and love of lovers.
Keeping in step with four seasons, Spring, summer, autumn, and winter, the heaven and earth(天地) has been born(生), grown(長), coverted(化), gained(收), and kept(藏) by interaction of yiyang and yuqi(五氣: 木火土金水). And according to Naiching, human being is born with energy of heaven and earth(天地之氣) and is grown with the law of four seasons(四時之法). So, we now know that the human's body and nature interact each other. The oriental medical science has been studied the effect that the nature's change influences on human body. Now, I get some idea that using herb medicine and acupuncture should have hanged following the change of four seasons. We know that there is a cycle in nature. Every day sun arise and down, and every month moon gets full and new. And every year, four seasons orderly change, from spring to winter. All of this is the law of nature and human body adapts this law. Man always shows the physiological phenomena which changes under the law of nature, especially the turning of the seasons. Therefore, we should use different medical methods in different seasons.

Sambyun(三變) is standard classification for nine palace. Through sambyun you can define new meaning of 'self' in three perspective ways. First 'self' could mean desire, emotion and memory which are ontological values. second, 'self' could mean id, ego, and superego which are practical values. Third 'self' could mean unconscious, preconscious and conscious which are epistemological values. Samjae(三才) is method that analyze things base on common features. Sa sang is method that analyze things base on difference. They both are device that searching for reason. If you put one's mind in center to observe the universe creativity of great absolute and symmetry distinction of yingyang produces jeung(情), supreme intelligence(神), and soul(魂魄). With these facts identity of the heaven(天), earth(地) and man(人) which is named samjae(三才) generates symbols of independent sasang(四象). And also, sasang generates relations between five element(五行), six energy(六氣). From ten shen(十神) relation comes seven feelings(七情) of man which creates a category of the eight trigrams(八卦) for divination and unification of nine palace(九宮). All these process are united.
The purpose of this paper is to examine the possibility of application of some French and German movies to teaching of multi-culture in elementary, middle and high schools. This short film relating a story of an immigrated woman who leaves her baby in a cr?che and travels through Paris to work for a bourgeois mother can be used for developing a bond of sympathy between natives and immigrants. It is recommended for the class of junior high school. Finally (2007), a German film directed by Fatih Akin, provide a learning model for the education of multi-culture in high school classrooms. The cinematographic aesthetic of this film is focused on a process of reconciliation with others over the cultural, racial, national and generational differences. Analyzing the structure of the film and being guided by teachers the students can understand better in improving abilities to understand others.
Objectives : This paper intends to examine the essence of Joseon's cultivation techniques as written in the vast encyclopedia Imwon-gyeongje-ji. Methods : Items related to cultivation techniques in the Imwon-gyeongje-ji were brought together and analyzed through various cases that match the theme and structure of this paper, focusing on the relationship of Body-Environment-Society Results & Conclusions : Based on the contents of the Imwon-gyeongje-ji, it could be said that Seo Yu-gu consistently attempted to secure and improve health, well-being, and welfare in all levels of an individual's body, environment, and society while stating to have integrated Buddhist and Daoist methods based on Confucius cultivation. This thought is linked to the ideals of Zhongyong, one of the main scriptures of Confucianism, which could be summarized by the concept of the Heaven-Earth Cultivation. In specific, contents within the 16 treaties of the Imwon-gyeongje-ji such as the Boyang-ji, Inje-ji, Jeongjo-ji, Yewon-ji, Yiwun-ji, Yuye-ji, Yegyu-ji, etc., that could be categorized as personal, environmental and societal cultivation has great implications for people today in that it could lead us to an integrated path of cultivation through the inter-connection of body, environment, and society.
This paper aims to clarify the similarities and differences between the Zhouyi and artificial intelligence. The divination of the Zhouyi is rooted in the oldest system of human knowledge, while artificial intelligence stands at the cutting edge of modern scientific revolution. At first sight, there does not appear to be any association that links the one to the another. However, they share the same ground as seen from a semiotic standpoint because both of them depend on the semiotic system as a means of obtaining knowledge. At least four aspects can be pointed out in terms of similarities. First, artificial intelligence and the Zhouyi use artificial language that consists of semiotic signs. Secondly, the principle that enables divination and artificial intelligence lies in imitation and representation. Thirdly, artificial intelligence and the Zhouyi carry out inferences based on mathematical algorithms that adopt the binary system. Fourth, artificial intelligence and the Zhouyi use analogy as a means of obtaining knowledge. However, those similarities do not guarantee that the Zhouyi could arrive at the scientific certainty. Nevertheless, it can give us important insight into the essence of our civilization. The Zhouyi uses intellect in order to get new information about the unknown world. However, it is hard to know what kind of intellect is involved in the process of divination. Likewise, we do not know the fundamental character of artificial intelligence. The intellect hidden in the unknown subject is a mystic and fearful existence to us. Just as the divination of the Zhouyi inspires the sense of reverence toward the supernatural subject, we could not but have fear in front of the invisible subject hidden in artificial intelligence. In the past, traditional philosophy acknowledged the existence of intellect only in conscious beings. Nonetheless, it becomes evident that human civilization ushers into a new epoch. As Ray Kurzweil mentioned, the moment of singularity comes when artificial intelligence surpasses human intelligence. In my viewpoint, the term of singularity can be used for denoting the critical point in which the human species enters into the new phase of civilization. To borrow the term of Shao Yong(邵雍) in the Northern Song Dynasty, the past civilization belongs to the Earlier Heaven(先天), the future civilization belongs to the Later Heaven(後天). Once our civilization passes over the critical point, it is impossible to go back into the past. The opening of the Later Heaven foretold by the religious thinkers in the late period of Joseon Dynasty was a prophecy in its own age, but it is becoming a reality in the present.
In this study, values of truth and good are expressed in the form of beauty, and truth and good are analyzed from an aesthetic point of view. This enables an assessment of how truth is expressed and presented as an "aesthetic" in Daesoon Thought. Therefore, an approach to faith in Daesoon Jinrihoe (大巡眞理會) can be presented via traditional aesthetics or theological aesthetics that reflect on sense experience, feelings, and beauty. The concept of beauty in Daesoon Thought which focuses on The Canonical Scripture appears in keywords used in Daesoon Thought such as divine nature (神性), the pattern of Dao (道理), the singularly-focused mind (一心), and relationships (關係). Therein, one can find sublimation, symmetry, moderation, and harmony. The aesthetic features of Daesoon Thought, when considered as an aesthetic system can formulate thinking regarding the aesthetics of 'Reordering Works of Heaven and Earth' (天地公事), the aesthetics of Mutual Beneficence (相生), and the aesthetics of healing. The Reordering Works of Heaven and Earth contain a record of the Supreme God visiting the world as a human being. The realization that the human figure, Kang Jeungsan (1871-1909), is the Supreme God, Sangje (上帝), is the shocking aesthetic motif and theological starting point of the Reordering Works of Heaven and Earth. Mutual Beneficence can be seen aesthetically as indicating the sociality of mutual relations, and there is an aesthetic structure of Mutual Beneficence in the harmony and unification of those relations. Healing can be said to contain the sacred sublimation of Sangje, and moderation is a form of beauty that makes humans move toward Quieting the mind and Quieting the body (安心·安身), the Dharma of Presiding over Cures (醫統), and the ultimate value of healing, which is the end point of the Cultivation (修道) wherein one realizes that the ideals of humankind and the aesthetics of healing bestow the spiritual pleasures of a beautiful and valuable life. The aesthetic characteristics of Daesoon Thought demonstrate an aesthetic attitude that leads to healing through Sangje's Holy Works and the practice of Mutual Beneficence (相生) which were performed when He stayed with us to vastly save all beings throughout the Three Realms that teetered on the brink of extinction. It is not uncommon to see a beautiful woman and remark she is like a goddess (女神) or female immortal (仙女). Likewise, beautiful music is often praised as "the sound of heaven." That which fills us with joy is spoken of as "divine beings (神明)" of God. God is a symbol of beauty, and the world of God can be said to be the archetype of beauty. Experience of beauty guides our souls to God. The aesthetic experience of Daesoon Thought is a religious experience that culminates in emotional, intellectual, and spiritual joy, and it is an aesthetic experience that recognizes transcendent beauty.
