건조장치 제작 및 사용성능 평가 (An Evaluation of Welded Drying Equipment)

  • In order to prevent the environmental pollution, the dryers are commonly used to treat sludge that one of sewages is polluting the quality of water. Rotary dryer is a good apparatus to treat them. The rotary dryer is the way that is to make substance transmission and heat using hot air between sludge particle and heated gas. In this paper, a numerical analysis was performed for the structural analysis of the 3-pass rotary dryer through the finite elemeny method and an experiment was done for the structural stability. And reasonable relation was found between analysis and experiment.

  • Korean farmers have purchased agricultural dryer and low temperature storage system apart. In this study, the system was designed and constructed to investigate the practical application possibility of the air to air heat pump as drying and low temperature storage system for agricultural products with providing basic data. The performance and drying characteristics of the system evaluated by drying red pepper. The value of coefficient of performance of the system for heating was from 1.8 to 2.2 when ambient air temperature varied from 13$^{\circ}C$ to 23$^{\circ}C$. For operating the heat pump as dryer for drying red pepper by setting three drying air temperature of 50, 55 and 60$^{\circ}C$, specific moisture extraction rates meaning amount of energy consumption for removing moisture of 1kg from red pepper were 1.095, 1.017 and 1.094 kg$_{water}$/kWh, respectively. The drying period up to moisture ratio of 0.02 were 31, 26 and 21 hour, respectively. The lightness, redness, yellowness and chroma differences of red pepper dried by the heat pump dryer were lowered than those of red pepper dried by conventional heated air dryer except for yellowness difference at drying air temperature of 60$^{\circ}C$.

초음파를 이용한 농산물의 건조특성 분석 (Estimation of Agricultural Produce Drying Using Ultrasonic)

  • 본 연구는 국내에서 사용되는 건조방법 (열풍, 마이크로웨이브, 진공 등)으로는 물리적 한계에 의해 건조소요에너지, 품질 저하 및 건조속도의 한계 등이 새로운 건조방식의 요구를 만족 시켜주지 못하므로, 비가열 건조를 위해 실험용 초음파 건조기를 개발하였다. 건조조건은 4수준으로 하였으며, No. 1은 초음파 및 열풍 없이 외기, No. 2는 초음파만, No. 3은 열풍만, No. 4는 초음파 및 열풍으로 총 4가지 조건으로 당근 및 인삼 절편을 건조기 내에서 30분간 건조를 하였으며, 전 후의 중량을 측정하여 건조정도를 판단하였다. 초음파 및 열풍으로 건조한 No. 4가 건감율이 가장 높았으며, 당근 절편의 건감율은 22.4% (w.b.)/h 및 인삼 절편은 3.8%(w.b.)/h로 나타났으며, 건조물의 변색 및 절편의 뒤틀림은 거의 열풍만으로 건조한 No. 3과 거의 비슷한 정도로 나타났다.

  • Both the computational and experimental analysis have been conducted in this study to develop the high efficiency agriculture products dryer by the uniform thermal flow distribution in the drying room. It has been developed based on the results of the computation and experiment in the conventional dryer to improve the thermal flow distribution in drying room. The developed dryer can be prevented the local concentration of the heated wind and achieved the uniform flow distribution using the installation of vertical branch ducts, ribs, guide vanes and porous plates. As a result, the developed dryer reduced the fuel consumption up to $15\%$ and the electricity consumption up to $31.5\%$ compared with the conventional dryer.

  • The textile which is rotated in the tumbler dryer is dried by the heated air. the energy consumption for drying textile depends on various parameters. The objective of this study is to save the energy and the drying time. One of the various methods for energy saving is EGR(exhaust gas recirculation). We set the drying equipment for this study and perform the experimental study with the changes of the recirculation rate, the input power, and the air mass flow rate. We found the optimal drying conditions.

The working conditions of dryer are a raw sludge feed rate, input & output water content and operation time etc.

평면식 건조기의 적정작업조건 설정에 관한 연구 (Study on The Qptimization of Operating Conditions of batch-type Grain Dryer)

  • Experimental work of batch-type dryer was conducted to develop its optimurm operating conditions by analyzing the major factors which affect the drying performance. A laboratory batch-type dryer was constructed and tested for various levels of heated-air rates, and depths of grain deposit. Tong-il rice variety having the initial moisture content of approximaely 23 per cent in wet basis was used for the experiment. The criteria selected for establishing the optimum operating condition were the drying performance rate, the thermal efficiency, and the operational cost of the dryer. The results of the study are summarized as follows: 1. The performance rate of dryer for a specific operating condition was defined as total amount of material dried per hour when the moisture content of grains in the upperlayer reaches to 16 per cent in wet basis. The optimum operating conditions as viewed in the rate of drying performance could be justified by functional realtionship between the depth of grain deposit and air flow rate. In other words, there was a definite depth of grain deposit for a given air-rate which make the dryer performance maximum. The optimum grain depth for the batch-type dryer with 3.3㎡ loading area and with the attached axial fan was about 35cm. 2. The thermal efficiency for the dryer was evaluated by the ratio of the latent heat required to evaporate the grain moisture to the heat input required to raise the ambient air-temperature to 40 degree centigrade. The optimum operating condition as viewed in term of thermal efficiency analyzed was that grater depth and lower air flow-rate may be desirable. This condition is contracted with the optimum condition as viewed by the dryer performance rate. 3. The annual operating cost of batch-type dryer was analyzed for different annual hour of use and for different operation condition. The optimum condition as viewed in terms of operating cost was almost identical to one as viewed in terms of dryer performance rate. Therefore, the most economical use of batch-type dryer for the same annual operating hours can be obtained when the dryer operated in the condition of maximum dryer performance rate. Increasing the annual operating hour may be desirable to cut down the dryer operation cost, since the annual hour of dryer use is much sensitive to the operating cost than any peractical conditions of dryer operation. 4. The most desirable operational condition as justified by combining all the criteria, dryer performance rate, thermal efficiency and annual operating cost, could be concluded to operate the dryer in the condition of maximum performance rate. The condition in general is identical to the lowest operation cost for a given annual operating hour.

3단 회전식 건조기의 내부 유동에 관한 수치해석 (Numerical Analysis of the Inner Flow of a 3-pass Rotary Dryer)

The rotary dryer is the way that is to make substance transmission and heating using hot air between sludge particles and heated gas. In this paper, we performed a numerical analysis of the inner air flow of the 3-pass rotary dryer through the changing rotational speed from 3rpm to 10rpm. In this result, we found that 3rpm is effective to dry material in terms of heat transfer because large scale velocity fluctuation is occurred inside the first and second drum. Also we confirmed that 5rpm and 8rpm showed up uniform flow at the center area of the first drum.

  • 무우절편의 태양열건조 및 천일건조 실험을 수행하여 건조 특성 및 품질 변화 특성을 비교하여 분석하였다. 무우절편의 태양열 건조 시스템은 공기 가열식 태양열 집열기와 터널 건조실로 구성된다. 태양열 집열기의 구성 요소에 에너지 평형식을 적용하여 일사량과 송풍량의 변화에 따른 집열기의 집열성능을 분석할 수 있는 시뮬레이션 모형을 개발하였다.

  • Compressed air represents an energy source and an force-transmission medium for brake systems on medium-heavy and heavy-duty commercial vehicles. However, one disadvantage is the tendency of air to absorb moisture in the form of water vapor. This water vapor condenses once the air, which is heated during compression, cools back to ambient temperature upon emerging from the air compressor. The resulting condensation assumes the form of moisture in pneumatic lines, air tanks, cylinders and valve assemblies and can have negative consequences for the brake system and vehicle safety. The pneumatic systems on today's vehicles are equipped with air dryers, in which the supplied air is dried according to the adsorption principle. In the systems, the compressed air flows through a granular desiccant with molecular sieves which captures the water molecules.
