  • In this research, isothermal conduction calorimetry analysis has been conducted to investigate the reactivity of alkali activated slag binders. In order to secure the reactivity and workability of alkali activated slag binders, experiences with various types and concentrations of alkali activators were performed. Isothermal conduction calorimetry were measured with different alkali activators and mass ratio of $SO_3$ to binders as variables, and sodium tripolyphosphate ($Na_2P_3O_{10}$) and hydrated sodium borate ($Na_2B_4O_710H_2O$) were used to control setting time. As a results, alkali activated slag binders required alkali activators with 4 to 5 percent of concentration to accelerate the formation of calcium silicate hydrate(C-S-H) by alkali-activation, and overall heat generation rate delayed as accumulated heat decreased due to the high $SO_3$ contents. Moreover, the use of hydrated sodium borate as setting retarder causes elongated setting time due to delaying heat generation, so it can be considered that setting retarder played an important role in delaying total heat generation rate.

  • According to the recent rapidly increasing that construction works are gradually Manhattanized mainly the grand scaled residential buildings, the foundation of the building that is related to safety is increasing for building as a grand scaled mat concrete. Because mat concrete can not be simultaneously placing of concrete in a great quantity due to the circumstance at the field, the inequal deformation of the tensile stress that according to the time lag of hydration heat between the upper layer and the lower layer is affecting as a cause that is the possibility of crack occurrence by increasing. Accordingly, this research checked the efficiency of super retard concrete in applying real structures, and we implemented the preparatory experiment to settle up the inequal deformation of the tensile stress substantially that is according to the time lag of placement between the upper layer and the lower layer by controlling the setting time using the super retarding agent. As the result of test, the more target of delay time lengthened, the more fluidity increased and air content indicated a little differences. There was from 2 to 10 hours between the standard curing and the outside curing at the setting time and in case of calculating the rate of mixing at real structure is required that mix promotion, increasing the amount of mixing, by setting up the curing temperature. The super retard concrete showed the result that in compressive strength, early-age strength was smaller than normal concrete whereas it was same or more figures from at the aging 28days because of the super retarding agent.

  • Effect of thermal processing upon the structure formation of surimi was investigated by differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), rigidity changes during heating, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). DSC studies showed the transition temperatures and heat capacity of the proteins during heating. Thermal transition peaks of the proteins were shifted to the lower temperatures or disappeared by the addition of salt and higher heating rate or setting treatment ($4^{\circ}C$ or $40^{\circ}C$). Whereas setting at $4^{\circ}C$ for 24hr produced elastic component and showed a permanent effect in rigidity development during heating, setting at $40^{\circ}C$ for 30 min produced a temporary effect. SEM studies in conjunction with rigidity scanning provided an insight into the structural features of the gel and helped clarify the setting and protein modification effects.

The subjects of this study is 262 hair shop workers and it was investigated heat perm device using reason, using satisfaction and repurchase. As a result, the perm accounted for 32.1 and the use of digital perm devices was more than that of setting perm devices. The reasons for the use were that the longer the setting device was engaged, the flexible it was the hair wave. The higher the rank, the better the hair wave retention and the long hair treatment, and it also helped sales. (p<0.05) Digital perm device can be hair-wavy in the desired style while in use, and the longer the working period, the more advantageous. The repurchase intention was that the longer the period of service and the higher the rank, the more advantageous it was. (p<0.05) The reasons for the usage of setting perm and digital perm were correlated with the satisfaction of use and the repurchase intention. The reasons for the use were helpful for sales and elastic hair wave and long hair waving was possible, which affected the repurchase. In conclusion, heat perm had been found not only helped sales, made a good hair wave, and the long hair waving, but also to be preferred to the long working period of the hair shop and the rank above the designer.

  • The addition of a limestone filler(LF) to fill into the voids between cement and aggregate particles can reduce the cementitious paste volume. In previous studies, it has been found that the addition of LF to reduce the cementitious paste volume would substantially increase the compressive strength, and reduce the heat generation. This paper aim to evaluate the influence of LF contents on the hydration kinetics and compressive strength. Hydration kinetics were evaluate using heat of hydration, ignition loss and thermal analysis. The heat of hydration was measured using Isothermal Calorimetry. The degree of hydration was measured using ignition loss. Hydration product analysis was carried out by Thermal Gravimetric and Differential Thermal Analysis. The results show that the addition of LF reduces not only the initial setting time and heat of hydration peak, also degree of hydration and rate of strength development at early age increase with the addition of LF. It can be concluded the LF fills the pore between cement particles due to formation of carboaluminate, which may accelerate the setting of cement pastes.

  • The aim of the research is analyzing the simple adiabatic temperature rising properties and the heat of hydration based on different placing timing of the mass concrete depending on various replacing ratios of blast furnace slag to comparative analyze the thermal cracking index and cracking possibility. As a result from the experiment, a suggested adiabatic temperature rising equation based on various blast furnace slag replacing ratios can be provide favorable correlation with over 0.99 of $R^2$ value by applying the initial induction period. With this relationship, more accurate prediction of the amount of the hydration heat rising and heating timing, and it is known that there is an approximately $13.1^{\circ}C$ of gap between plain concrete without blast furnace slag and concrete with 80 % of replacing blast furnace slag. To control the setting time and heat rising gap, the mix designs between top and bottom concrete casts were changed 15 cases, and D, E, H, I, and L models of controlling the heat of hydration showed 41.23 to $46.88^{\circ}C$ of core temperature and 0.98 to 1.27 of thermal cracking index. Therefore the cracking possibility was 15 to 52 % of favorable results of possibly controlling both the cracking due to the internal and external retainment and concrete temperature at early age.

  • Energy balance equations Were developed to describe the heat transfer mechanisms in a double layer plastic greenhouse with a water curtain system. Heat transfer variables were determined by using various temperature data measured in a conventional prototype semicircular cross-section greenhouse over a range of water temperatures and water flow rates. The heat transfer coefficient between flowing water and greenhouse air was independent of water flow rates. But the heat transfer coefficient between water surface and the stagnant air space within the double plastic layer was dependent on water flow rates. Substituting the heat transfer coefficients, determined from the energy balance equations in the heat transfer equations, demonstrated various relationships among ambient air temperature, greenhouse air temperature, water temperature, and water flow rates. The heating benefits were linearly related to not only the inside and outside air temperatures but also to the water temperature. The energy conservation effects of the water curtain system were found even initial water temperatures were considerably lower than the greenhouse setting temperatures. Sensitivity analysis for heat transfer coefficients demonstrated that the heat transfer coefficient between greenhouse air and the stagnant air within the plastic layers was the most significant coefficient in the estimation of heating effects.

  • MIG brazing is used for many parts without melting base metal because of high productivity. Pulsed MIG brazing can be used to further reduce heat input and to improve the process stability. However, a significant amount of zinc in galvanized sheet steel is burned off in the area of brazes. Therefore, the brazing method to reduce the heat input is needed. In the brazing for galvanized sheet steel, variable polarity AC pulse MIG arc brazing can be applied to more decrease the heat input by setting EN-ratio adequately. In this research, we studied for the variable polarity AC pulse MIG arc brazing to decrease the heat input by using ERCuSi-A wire. As the result of increasing EN-ratio, melting ratio of base metal and burning off of zinc were reduced in galvanized sheet steel.
