  • TV-Drama Location sets as a potential magnet for tourism have been a popular subject during the past years. A large number of provincial governments have been trying to attract location sets to their region for this cause. But so far the drama sets, once they lost the heat of the initial exposure, have not been used continuously and thus result in waste of province budget. Systematic approach to the utilization and effective application is needed. On the basis of analyzing the issues and problems of existing TV drama sets, this study explores possibilities of development in the case of "Into the storm" drama set, locationed at Jukbyun, Uljin-gun. Through SWOT analysis, feasibility analysis, the study proposes sustainable scheme that accommodates potential for future drama, tourist attraction and functions for local residents.

A novel modeling of settlement of foundations in permafrost regions

  • Settlement of foundations in permafrost regions primarily results from three physical and mechanical processes such as thaw consolidation of permafrost layer, creep of warm frozen soils and the additional deformation of seasonal active layer induced by freeze-thaw cycling. This paper firstly establishes theoretical models for the three sources of settlement including a statistical damage model for soils which experience cyclic freeze-thaw, a large strain thaw consolidation theory incorporating a modified Richards' equation and a Drucker-Prager yield criterion, as well as a simple rheological element based creep model for frozen soils. A novel numerical method was proposed for live computation of thaw consolidation, creep and freeze-thaw cycling in corresponding domains which vary with heat budget in frozen ground. It was then numerically implemented in the FISH language on the FLAC platform and verified by freeze-thaw tests on sandy clay. Results indicate that the calculated results agree well with the measured data. Finally a model test carried out on a half embankment in laboratory was modeled.

  • IT중소기업(Small and Medium-size Enterprises)의 기술개발은 대학, 출연연구소 및 대기업의 기술 개발과는 달리 인력, 재원, 규모 둥에서 환경이 매우 열악하다. 중소기업들이 열악한 환경은 정부가 지원하는 기술개발 출연사업에 대한 과열경쟁을 불러오고, 기술개발 규모는 과제당 3억원 내외로 적은 예산을 다수의 기업에 나누어 지원하는 현상이 발생하고 있다. 다수 소액과제를 지원관리하면서 연구개발 내용보다는 기업의 부실화 둥 기술개발 외적인 관리에 치중하게 된다. 따라서 실태조사 등 불필요한 현장 감사가 진행될 수밖에 없는데, 감독목적의 실태조사보다 기술개발을 주관하는 중소기업의 기술애로 해소 및 상업화 등 노하우 지원이 시급한 실정이다. 따라서 중소기업의 실질적인 기술개발 지원을 위해서 대학이나 연구소 등에 근무하는 기술개발 및 상용화 전문가들을 중소기업의 기술개발 지원 전문가로 활용하는 방안을 제안한다.

  • 해수의 순환이 지구표면의 열 분배 및 궤도함수주기와 천년주기의 기후변화와 밀접한 관계가 있음이 알려지면서 과거 해수의 흐름을 지시할 수 있는 지시자의 개발이 관심을 끌고 있다. 이 논평에서는 해수 자생성 네오디뮴 동위원소 비를 해수순환의 지시자로 활용하는 원리와 분석방법 그리고 두 가지 적용사례를 소개한다. 먼저 지난 빙하기-간빙기와 아빙기-아간빙기에 걸쳐 북대서양심층수 세기의 변화를 명확히 볼 수 있는 예를 소개한다. 다음으로는 북극해에서 담수의 유입과 해수순환을 재구성한 예를 보인다.

  • 유색 용존 유기물의 빛 흡수와 해빙의 가속화는 수생생태계와 열수지 역동성 간의 양적 피드백에 영향을 줄 수 있으므로 극지 해양에서 유색 용존 유기물의 장기 모니터링이 필요하게 되었다. 그러나 극지 환경에서의 관측은 용이하지 않은 접근성과 거친 기상으로 장기 모니터링이 쉽지 않다. 따라서 유색 용존 유기물의 장기 모니터링 장소로서 남극 세종 기지의 가능성을 확인하기 위해, 마리안 소만과 맥스웰 만에서 유색 용존 유기물의 분포와 외부로부터의 영향을 파악하기 위한 관측을 수행하였다. 맥스웰 만 내의 세종 부두와 세종 곶의 72시간 유색 용존 유기물의 변동성을 관측하고, 외부 영향이 없었던 세종 부두에서 2010년 2월에서 11월까지 10개월간 유색 용존 유기물의 연간 변화와 계절변동을 관측하였다. 세종 부두의 유색 용존 유기물 농도는 가을과 겨울 동안 가장 높고 봄과 여름에 감소하는 뚜렷한 계절 변동성을 보였고, 남극 인근 해역에서 측정된 유색 용존 유기물 농도 자료와 비교하였다. 따라서 우리는 남극해의 열수지에 대한 중요한 요인이자 광화학적 및 생물학적 환경변화에 관한 지시자인 유색 용존 유기물을 장기 모니터링을 위해 적합한 장소로 맥스웰 만의 세종 부두를 제안한다.

기후변화에 따른 낙동강 유역의 기온 경향성 및 수온과의 탄성도 분석 (Analysis for Air Temperature Trend and Elasticity of Air-water Temperature according to Climate Changes in Nakdong River Basin)

  • Temperature increase due to climate changes causes change of water temperature in rivers which results in change of water quality etc. and the change of river ecosystem has a great impact on human life. Analyzing the impact of current climate changes on air and water temperature is an important thing in adapting to the climate changes. This study examined the effect of climate changes through analyzing air temperature trend for Nakdong river basin and analyzed the elasticity of air-water temperature to understand the effect of climate changes on water temperature. For analysis air temperature trend, collecting air temperature data from the National Weather Service on main points in Nakdong river basin, and resampling them at the units of year, season and month, used as data for air temperature trend analysis. Analyzing for elasticity of air-water temperature, the data were collected by the Water Environment Information system for water temperature, while air temperature data were collected at the National Weather Service point nearest in the water temperature point. And using the results of trend analysis and elasticity analysis, the effect of climate changes on water temperature was examined estimating future water temperature in 20 years and 50 years after. It is judged that analysis on mutual impact between factors such as heat budget, precipitation and evapotranspiration on river water temperature affected by climate changes and river water temperature is necessary.

해양혼합층 모델 적용을 통한 고해상도 지역예측모델 성능개선에 대한 연구 (A Study on Improvement of High Resolution Regional NWP by Applying Ocean Mixed Layer Model)

  • Ocean mixed layer (OML) depth affects diurnal cycle of sea surface temperature (SST) induced by change of solar radiation absorption and heat budget in ocean. The diurnal SST variation can lead to convection over the ocean, which can impact on localized precipitation both over coastal and inland. In this study, we investigate the OML characteristics affecting the diurnal cycle of SST for the Korean Peninsula and surrounding areas. To analyze OML characteristics, HYCOM oceanic mixed layer depth (MLD) and wind field at 10 m from ERA-interim during 2008~2016 are used. In the winter, MLD is deeply formed when the strong wind field is located on perpendicular to continental slope over deep seafloor areas. Besides, cooling SST-induced vertical mixing in OML is reinforced by dry cold air originated from Siberia. The OML in summer is shallowly distributed about 20 m. In order to estimate the impact of OML model in high resolution NWP model, four experimental simulations are performed. At this time, the prognostic scheme of skin SST is applied in NWP to simulate diurnal SST. The simulation results show that CNTL (off-OML) overestimates diurnal cycle of SST, while EXPs (on-OML) indicate similar results to observations. The prediction performance for precipitation of EXPs shows improvement compared with CNTL over coastal as well as inland. This results suggest that the application of the OML model in summer season can contribute to improving the prediction for performance of SST and precipitation over coastal area and inland.

Response of Ecosystem Carbon and Water Vapor Exchanges in Evolving Nocturnal Low-Level Jets

  • The nocturnal low-level jet makes a significant impact on carbon and water exchanges and turbulent mixing processes in the atmospheric boundary layer. This study reports a case study of nocturnal surface fluxes such as $CO_2$ and water vapor in the surface layer observed at a flat and homogeneous site in the presence of low-level jets (LLJs). In particular, it documents the temporal evolution of the overlying jets and the coincident response of surface fluxes. The present study highlights several factors linking the evolution of low-level jets to surface fluxes: 1) wavelet analysis shows that turbulent fluxes have similar time scales with temporal scale of LLJ evolution; 2) turbulent mixing is enhanced during the transition period of low-level jets; and 3) $CO_2$, water vapor and heat show dissimilarity from momentum during the period. We also found that LLJ activity is related not only to turbulent motions but also to the divergence of mean flow. An examination of scalar profiles and turbulence data reveal that LLJs transport $CO_2$ and water vapor by advection in the stable boundary layer, suggesting that surface fluxes obtained from the micrometeorological method such as nocturnal boundary layer budget technique should carefully interpreted in the presence of LLJs.

간척지 자원순환형 축산단지의 도입 가능성 연구 (A Study on the Possibility of Introducing a Resources Circulation Type Livestock Zone of Reclaimed Land)

  • The present study suggests a concept of resources circulation type agriculture and a concept of a livestock zone related to it and evaluated economical efficiency about a possibility of the resources circulation type livestock zone based on the concept. As a result, when the resources circulation type livestock zone is operated in an area of 1,300ha, it was evaluated that the profit of 11,244 hundred thousand won per year is generated, compared to the conventional agriculture. When light and heat expenses and roughage of Hanwoo production, production of TMR forage as well as income of the energy and composting business of livestock manure at the recycling center were considered in addition to that, it was judged that the present zone development bushiness has enough business feasibility. However, it is necessary that the support regulations, etc. is constructed so that all produced compost byproducts are used at farmhouses and the system related to facility investment assurance and assistance of operating expenses is maintained. It is thought that the complement of a system is also necessary so that energy or power generation expenses can be operated in the same conditions as other new & renewable energy, and the nation's purchase of carbon credits(CDM) is investigated and systemized in the early period, and construction of a revitalization plan of the business through budget securing of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry related to the trade of CDM and carbon emission rights is also a business that should be urgently developed. In the future, the change of an outside environment will further promote use of the energy. Also, as people, who don't know agriculture. farm village, increase day by day because of population concentration in a city, an opportunity that can new added value through experience tourism or educational programs utilizing them is increasing. Accordingly, if programs utilizing social characteristics, such as utilization as a space of tourism. leisure. experience, system construction of bio-energy and system construction that Micro Grid or Smart Grid as a dispersed storage and generation system is stabilized, are constructed, it can be said that revitalization or success conditions of the zone is further achieved.

기후변화가 주암호 수온성층구조에 미치는 영향 예측 (Projection of the Climate Change Effects on the Vertical Thermal Structure of Juam Reservoir)

  • As meteorology is the driving force for lake thermodynamics and mixing processes, the effects of climate change on the physical limnology and associated ecosystem are emerging issues. The potential impacts of climate change on the physical features of a reservoir include the heat budget and thermodynamic balance across the air-water interface, formation and stability of the thermal stratification, and the timing of turn over. In addition, the changed physical processes may result in alteration of materials and energy flow because the biogeochemical processes of a stratified waterbody is strongly associated with the thermal stability. In this study, a novel modeling framework that consists of an artificial neural network (ANN), a watershed model (SWAT), a reservoir operation model(HEC-ResSim) and a hydrodynamic and water quality model (CE-QUAL-W2) is developed for projecting the effects of climate change on the reservoir water temperature and thermal stability. The results showed that increasing air temperature will cause higher epilimnion temperatures, earlier and more persistent thermal stratification, and increased thermal stability in the future. The Schmidt stability index used to evaluate the stratification strength showed tendency to increase, implying that the climate change may have considerable impacts on the water quality and ecosystem through changing the vertical mixing characteristics of the reservoir.
