로켓 모터의 작동시간이 노즐 열전달 계수에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Effect of Operating Time of a Rocket Motor on the Convective Heat Transfer Coefficient of Nozzle)

  • 미사일 탄두의 정확한 제어를 위하여, 로켓 모터의 구조 및 유체/열역학적 안정성이 절대적으로 필요하다. 특히, 유도탄의 초기 선회형 로켓 모터는 작동 시간이 짧음에도 불구하고, 고온 고압에서 작동되기 때문에 노즐 목 부근에서는 삭마(削磨, Ablation)가 일어나 유동자체의 불안정이 발생하고, 열 및 기계적 응력 때문에 시스템 자체가 파국에 이르는 경우가 종종 발생한다. 이와 관련, 본 연구에서는 열응력(Thermal stress) 및 삭마는 유동 연소 가스로부터 노즐 재료로의 전열량과 재료 내부의 온도 차이에 기인된다는 판단에 따라 로켓 모터의 작동시간이 노즐 벽면 열전달 계수에 미치는 영향을 수치적으로 해석하는 것을 연구의 목적으로 하였다. 그 결과, 노즐 벽면 열전달 계수는 노즐 목 바로 직전에서 가장 크게 되고, 로켓 모터의 작동 시간이 길어질수록 열전달 계수는 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 또, 노즐 목의 곡률반경이 작을수록, 최대 열전달 계수가 크게 되는 것으로 나타났다.

초전도 케이블의 Quench 특성에 대한 계통안전성 제어방식 (Power System Security Control Method for Quench Characteristic of High-Temperature Superconducting Cable)

  • 본 논문은 고온 초전도 케이블을 전력계통의 송전용량 증대를 위해 적용시켰을 경우, 고장발생시 초전도케이블에서 예상되는 ??????치의 영향에 대해 안전하게 제어할 수 있는 방법을 제시하였다. 접근 방법으로는 초전도케이블의 ??????치 특성을 열평형 방정식으로 모델링하고 그 결과 고장전류에 따른 케이블의 설계 최대 온도상승한계에 도달하는 시간을 산출하여 기존의 보호계전시스템의 차단시간과 비교함으로서 안전성 여부를 판정하였다. ??????치발생 고장시간을 모의하기 위해 초전도케이블용 EMTDC모형을 개발하였으며, 모의 결과 초전도 케이블 계통을 보호할 수 있는 안전성 제어방식이 설계 가능함을 보였다.

선박용 프로펠러 주조시 수축결함 제어용 압탕가열장치 적용 (Application of the Riser Heating Equipment to Control Shrinkage defects for Casting of the Propeller)

  • An integrated riser heating equipment has been developed to control shrinkage defects originated from casting of a marine propeller. The integrated riser heating equipment is composed of up/down moving parts, heating power source parts and an integrated controller. Heat capacity putting into the riser was calculated quantitatively on the base of a heat transfer analysis, which consisted of the establishment of heating model and the theoretical analysis for heat transfer. The riser heating equipment was evaluated through arc heating and electro-slag heating method. With the results, the arc type heating method was selected by considering high thermal efficiency, inexpensive cost, and convenient workship. This equipment improves the quality of a propeller casting and the poor working environment.

공기조화, 냉동 분야의 최근 연구 동향 -2000년 및 2001년 학회지 논문에 대한 종합적 고찰 - (Recent Progress in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Research -A Review of Papers Published in the Korean Journal of Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Engineering in 2000 and 2001-)

  • A review on the papers published in the Korean Journal of Air-Conditioning and Refrigerating Engineering in 2000 and 2001 has been done. Focus has been put on current status of research in the aspect of heating, cooling, ventilation, sanitation and building environment. The conclusions are as follows. (1) Most of fundamental studies on fluid flow were related with heat transportation of facilities. Drop formation and rivulet flow on solid surfaces were interesting topics related with condensation augmentation. Research on micro environment considering flow, heat, humidity was also interesting for comfortable living environment. It can be extended considering biological aspects. Development of fans and blowers of high performance and low noise were continuing topics. Well developed CFD technologies were widely applied for developing facilities and their systems. (2) Most of papers related with heat transfer analysis and heat exchanger shows dealt with convection, evaporation, and channel flow for the design application of heat exchanger. The numerical heat transfer simulation studies have been peformed and reported to show heat transfer characteristics. Experimental as well as numerical studies on heat exchanger were reported, while not many papers are available for the system analysis including heat exchanger. (3) A review of the recent studies on heat pump system shows that performance analysis and control of heat pump have been peformed by various simulations and experiments. The research papers on multi-type heat pump system increased significantly. The studies on heat pipe have been examined experimently for change of working characteristics and strut lure. Research on the phase change has been carried out steadily and operation strategies of encapsulated ice storage tank are reported experimentally in several papers. (4) A review of recent studies on refrigeration/air conditioning system have focused on the system performance and efficiency for new alternative refrigerants. Evaporation and condensation heat transfer characteristics are investigated for tube shapes and new alternative refrigerants. Studies on components of refrigeration/air conditioning system are carried to examine efficiency for various compressors and performance of new expansion devices. In addition to thermophysical properties of refrigerant mixtures, studies on new refrigerants are also carried out, however research works on two-phase flow seemed to be insufficient. (5) A review of the recent studies on absorption cooling system indicates that heat and mass transfer phenomena have been investigated to improve absorber performance. Various experimental data have been presented and several simulation models have been proposed. A review of the recent studies on duct and ventilation shows that ventilation indices have been proposed to quantify the ventilation performance in buildings and tunnels. Main efforts have been focused on the applications of ventilation effectiveness in practice, either numerically using computational fluid dynamics or experimentally using tracer gas techniques. (6) Based on a review of recent studies on indoor thermal environment and building service systems, research issues have mainly focused on many innovative ideas such as underfloor air-conditioning system, personal environmental modules, radiant floor cooling and etc. Also, the new approaches for minimizing energy consumption as well as improving indoor environmental conditions through predictive control of HVAC systems, various activities of building energy management and cost-benefit analysis for economic evaluation were highlighted.

드럼 브레이크 시스템의 비정상 열전달 해석 (Unsteady State Heat Transfer Analysis of Drum Brake System)

  • The brakes employed on commercial vehicles must be able to withstand three types of demanding services which are use-emergency stops from high speed, many repeated stops as in a delivery or bus route, and speed control in mountain descents. Two type of friction brakes are in use ; drum breaks and disc brakes. Drum brakes are of the internally expanding type in which two shoes fitted externally with friction material are forced outward against the inside of a rotating drum on the wheel unit. In this case, the Braking power is produced by the friction force between a drum and a lining, and is converted into heat. In this research an unsteady state heat transfer analysis for drum brake system of heavy truck has been performed by ABAQUS/standard code in the case of single-braking and the repeated braking condition. The temperature histories obtained by the finite Element analysis have been compared with the result calculated by the simplified formulation and the result obtained by the experiment of real vehicle conditions.

  • Bacterial heat shock protein has been one of the components that are responsible to induce autoimmune disease mechanisms in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis due to high level of homology in sequence with human counterpart. This mechanism may explain how bacterial infectious disease, such as periodontal disease, might contribute to the acceleration of the disease process of atherosclerosis. Porphyromonas gingivalis which is a major periodontal pathogenic bacterial species, has been implicated as one of the pathogenic bacteria playing the role in this context. The present study has been performed to evaluate the anti-atherosclerotic effect of adoptive transfer of Porphyromonas gingivalis heat shock protein epitope-specific T cell lines into severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) mice. Peptide no. 15 with amino acid sequence VKEVASKTND-specific T cell line was selected for the transfer. When experimental atherosclerosis was induced in SCID mice adoptively transferred either by the T cell lines (experimental group) or by non-specific mouse T cells (control group), there was no significant difference in the severity and extent of the atherosclerosis induced by hypercholesterol diet.

  • 본 연구에서는 1차원 상변화문제를 확장하여 사각형 주형내에서의 접촉열저항 을 고려한 2차원 상변화문제를 해석하고자 한다.즉 고상/액상 경계면인 상변화면을 추적하기 위하여 온도수식법(temperature formulation method)을 적용시 나타나는 복 잡성을 극복하기 위하여 제시된 엔탈피법을 이용하여 순수물질의 경우 뿐만 아니라 2상영역이 존재하는 합금에서의 온도분포, 상변화면의 이동속도 및 총응고에 소요되는 시간등의 열적특성을 해석하며, 또한 이러한 열적특성에 영향을 미치는 매개변수를 도출하고자 주형의 형상, 주형 외벽에서의 열전달계수, 접촉 열전달계수, 주형의 열전 도계수 및 주물의 초기온도등의 변화에 따른 효과를 고찰한다.

  • 제트베인은 로켓추진기관의 발사초기 자세제어와 조정 안정성의 확보를 위해 로켓노즐 출구부에 장착되어지며, 발사 수초 후까지 연소가스와의 접촉으로 인해 구동부를 가열시키고, 그 자체도 화학적 혹은 기계적으로 삭마된다. 본 연구는 제트베인의 열해석을 위한 기초연구로서 균일 초음속 유동장내에 위치한 단일 제트베인으로의 열전달 특성 해석을 수행하여 보았다. 경계층 적분법과 유한차분법의 연립해석이 이루어 졌으며, 벽근방에서 도출된 경계조건을 바탕으로 베인 내부의 비정상 열전도 해석도 수행되었다.

A Billet Heat Transfer Modeling during Reheating Furnace Operation

  • Reheating furnace is an essential facility of a rod mill plant where a billet is heated to the required rolling temperature so that it can be milled to produce wire. Sometimes, it is also necessary to control a transient billet temperature pattern according to the material characteristics to prevent a wire from breaking. Though it is very important objective to obtain a correct information of a billet temperature during furnace operation. Consequently, a billet temperature profile must be estimated. In this paper, a billet heat transfer model based on FEM (Finite Element Method) with spatially distributed emission factors is proposed and a measurement is also carried out for two different furnace operation conditions. Finally, the difference between the model outputs and the measurements is minimized by using the new optimization algorithm named uDEAS(Univariate Dynamic Encoding Algorithm for Searches) with multi-step tuning strategy. Hence, the information of billet temperatures can be obtained by using proposed model on various furnace operation conditions.

NUMERICAL SOLUTION FOR WOOD DRYING ON ONE-DIMENSIONAL GRID

  • A mathematical modeling for the drying process of hygroscopic porous media, such as wood, has been developed in the past decades. The governing equations for wood drying consist of three conservation equations with respect to the three state variables, moisture content, temperature and air density. They are involving simultaneous, highly coupled heat and mass transfer phenomena. In recent, the equations were extended to account for material heterogeneity through the density of the wood and via the density variation of the material process, capillary pressure, absolute permeability, bound water diffusivity and effective thermal conductivity. In this paper, we investigate the drying behavior for the three primary variables of the drying process in terms of control volume finite element method to the heterogeneous transport model on one-dimensional grid.
