  • 본고는 정상류 가로흐름이 존재하는 천해역으로 방출되는 온수의 거동 예측을 위한 2차원 난류모형 개발을 기술한다. 모델 기본방정식은 수심적분된 연적 및 운동방정식, 에너지보존 방정식이 사용되며, SIMPLE로 알려진 교치기법으로 적분된다. 난류운동량 및 열확산항은 2차원 $ extsc{k}$-$\varepsilon$ 방정식으로부터 결정된다. 기존 실험결과와의 비교에서 천수역 Near-field 해역내 난류현상 재현에 유망한 기법임이 확인되었다.

Performance of Alternative Refrigerants in Low Temperature Chillers

  • This paper is about the performance of alternative refrigerants for low temperature and transport refrigeration chillers. A breadboard refrigeration chiller was constructed with counterflow heat exchangers. R502, its transitional alternatives of R402A and R402B, and long-term alternatives of R404A and R507 were tested in an attempt to compare the performance of each refrigerant against R502. Measurements were conducted at two condensing temperatures of 43.3$^{\circ}C$ and 52.$0^{\circ}C$ and the evaporating temperature was varied over a range from -$25^{\circ}C$ to -5$^{\circ}C$. The evaporator superheat and condenser subcooling were maintained constant at about 5$^{\circ}C$ for all tests. Test results showed that all alternative fluids tested in this work can be used as 'drop-in fluids' to replace R502 without any major problem. It is also found that in the long run HFC alternatives are to be used due to their favorable environmental characteristics and better performance.

열매체 순환수 배관이 매설된 콘크리트 도로 포장체의 표면 온도 변화와 방열량 평가 (Evaluation of Surface Temperature Variation and Heat Exchange Rate of Concrete Road Pavement with Buried Circulating Water Piping)

  • Hydronic heated road pavement (HHP) systems have been well established and documented to provide road safety in winter season over the past two decades. However, most of the systems run on asphalt, only a few are tested with concrete, and there rarely is a comparison between those two common road materials in their performance. The aim of this study is to investigate the thermal performance of the concrete HHP systems, including surface temperature variations of experimental pavements in winter season. For preliminary study a small-scale experimental system was installed to evaluate the heat transfer characteristics of the concrete HHP in the test field. The system consists of 3 concrete slabs made of 1 m in width, 1 m in length, and 0.25 m in height. In these slabs, circulating water piping was embedded with different pipe depths of 0.08 m (Case A), 0.12 m (Case B), and 0.20 m (Case C) and same horizontal space of 0.16 m. Heating performance in winter season was tested with different inlet temperatures of 25℃, 30℃, 35℃ and 40℃ during the entire measurement period. Overall, the surface temperature of the concrete HHPs remained above 3℃ in all experimental conditions applied in this study. The results of the surface temperature measurement with respect to the pipe depth showed that Case B was the highest among the three cases. However, the closer the circulating water pipe was to the pavement surface, the greater the heat exchange rate. This results is considered that the heat is continuously accumulated inside the pavements and then the temperature inside the pavements increases, while the amount of heat dissipation decreases as the temperature difference between the inlet and outlet of circulating water decreases. In this preliminary test the applicability of the concrete HHP on road deicing was confirmed. Finally, the results can be used as a basis for studying the effects of various variables on road pavements through numerical analysis and for conducting large-scale empirical experiments.

A Study on Hydrodynamic Stiffness Characteristics of Air Bearing for High Speed Spindle

  • This study was carried out as one of efforts to overcome difficulties in air bearing design due to low stiffness and low damping. Hydrodynamic effects on hydrodynamic stiffness of a fluid film in a high speed air bearing with tow-row air sources are investigated. The hydrodynamic effects by the high speed over DN 1,000,000 and eccentricity of a proceeding which are not considered in conventional design of an air bearing need to be reconsidered. The hydrodynamic effects, which dominantly influence on the load capacity of air bearing, are caused mainly by proceeding speed, eccentricity, and the source positions. The two-row source arrangement in the air bearing produces quite unique hydrodynamic effects with respect to pressure distribution of the air film. Optimal arrangement of the two-row sources improves performance of an air bearing in film reaction force and loading capacity of high speed spindles. This study compares the pressure distribution by numerical simulation as a function of eccentricity of proceeding and the source positions. The air source position 1/7L form one end of an air bearing was found to be superior to source position of 1/4L. The dynamic stiffness were obtained using a two-dimensional cutting method which can directly measure the cutting reaction forces and the displacements of the spindle in two directions using a tool dynamometer and transducer sensors. Heat generation in the air film can not be negligible over the speed of DN 2,000,000. In order to analysis effects of heat generation on the characteristics of air bearing, high cooling bearing spindle and low cooling bearing spindle were tested and compared. Characteristics of the frequency response of shaft and motion of run out errors were different for the spindle. The test results show that, in the case of low cooling bearing spindle, the stiffness became smaller due to heat generation. The results, which were obtained for high speed region, may be used as a design information for spindle which can be applied to precision devices such as ultra precision grinding and ultra high speed milling.

However, most of the systems run on asphalt, only a few are tested with concrete, and there rarely is a comparison between those two common road materials in their heating and cooling performance. The aim of this study is to investigate the thermal performance of the HHP, such as heat dissipation performance in winter season while focusing on the surface temperature of the concrete and asphalt pavement. For preliminary study a small-scale experimental system was designed and installed to evaluate the heat transfer characteristics of the HHP in the test field. The system consists of concrete and asphalt slabs made of 1 m in width, 1 m in length, and 0.25 m in height. In two slabs, circulating water piping was embedded at a depth of 0.12 m at intervals of 0.16 m. Heating performance in winter season was tested with different inlet temperatures of 25℃, 30℃, 35℃ and 40℃ during the entire measurement period. The results indicated that concrete's heating performance is better than that of asphalt, showing higher surface temperatures for the whole experiment cases. However, the surface temperature of both concrete and asphalt pavement slabs remained above 0℃ for all experimental conditions. The heat dissipation performance of concrete and asphalt pavements was analyzed, and the heat dissipation of concrete pavement was greater than that of asphalt. In addition, the higher the set temperature of the circulating water, the higher the heat dissipation. On the other hand, the concrete pavement clearly showed a decrease in heat dissipation as the circulating water set temperature decreased, but the decrease was relatively small for the asphalt pavement. Based on this experiment, it is considered that a circulating water temperature of 20℃ or less is sufficient to prevent road ice. However, this needs to be verified by further experiments or computational fluid dynamic (CFD) analysis.

열처리 환경에서 웨이브렛 적응 필터를 이용한 초음파 비파괴 검사의 결함 검출 (Flaw Detection of Ultrasonic NDT in Heat Treated Environment Using WLMS Adaptive Filter)

  • 본 논문에서는 그레인 잡음을 제거하기 위해서 웨이브렛 변환(wavelet transform)에 근간을 둔 웨이브렛 적응 필터(WLMS adaptive filter : Wavelet domain Least Mean Square adaptive filter)를 사용하였다. 보통 그레인 잡음은 고온의 환경에서 금속의 결정구조가 변화함에 따라 발생된다. 웨이브렛 평면에서의 적응 필터링은 필터의 입력신호를 직교 변환하여 입력으로 이용함으로써 수렴 속도를 향상시킬 수 있는 장점을 가지고 있다. 적응 필터의 기준 입력 신호는 원시 입력 신호를 지연시킨 신호를 이용하였으며, 적응 필터의 출력은 다시 CA-CFAR(Cell Average - Constant False Alarm Rate) 임계 추정기(threshold estimator)를 거쳐 자동적으로 원하는 신호부분만 나타내도록 하였다. 우선 신호의 통계적 특성을 알기 위하여 run 테스트를 수행하여 기준 입력 신호가 비정상성(nonstationarity)을 나타냄을 보였고, 웨이브렛 적응필터가 시평면 적응필터보다 수렴속도면에서 우수함을 보였으며, 각 적응 필터의 출력신호에 대해서 신호대 잡음비를 통해 성능평가를 하였다. 시평면 적응 필터링 후에는 신호대 잡음비가 2-3㏈ 향상을 보였고, 반면 웨이브렛 적응 필터링후에는 신호대 잡음비가 4-6㏈ 향상을 보였다.

한국산 토종 닭고기의 품질 특성 (Quality Characteristics of Korean Native Chicken Meat)

  • A study was conducted to compare the quality characteristics among commercial broiler, Wangchoo (imported dual purpose breed) and Korean native chicken(KNC). Thigh and breast meat of the broiler(7-wk old), Wangchoo(15-wk old), and Korean native chicken(15-wk old) stored for 24 h at 5t were used to analyze chemical composition, physico-chemical characteristics, textural traits and sensory evaluation test. Crude fat and moisture contents in broiler meat and crude protein content in KNC were significantly(P<.05) higher than those in the other breeds regardless of parts of the body. Total collagen content in broiler meat was significantly higher than those of the other breeds, however, the heat-soluble and the acid-soluble collagen content in Wangchoo were significantly lower than those of the other breeds. Water-holding capacities of KNC in breast meat, and of broiler in leg meat were significantly higher than that of the other breeds, while the results of the water-holding capacity and the cooking loss were reversed. Myofibrillar fragmentation index in broiler meat was significantly higher than that in the other breeds regardless of body parts. Hardness, elasticity and cohesiveness in Wangchoo were significantly higher than those in the other breeds. The prominent fatty acids were oleic, palmitic and linoleic acids and run up to 79.03~83.82 %, regardless of breeds and parts. The sensory evaluation score of tenderness, taste and preference in Wangchoo were lower compared to the broiler and KNC, however, they were not significantly different between broiler and KNC. In conclusion, the quality characteristics of KNC were excellent compared to Wangchoo.

  • The operating temperature has been increased to improve the efficiency of gas turbine. The most advanced Gas turbine is operated at above $1,500^{\circ}C$. Improvement in material and cooling method permit hot gas path component to run at increased temperature. But, the repair of blades which are developed with advanced manufacture technique is difficult to use normal welding. Most of gas turbine blades are made of precipitation harden nickel base superalloy, which is very hard to weld. Therefore, the employment of welding filler on blade is solid solution nickel base superalloy(Hastelloy X, Inconel 617). In this study, Tensile test in high temperature was conducted on welded GTD111DS with GTD111 to evaluate effect of variation of pre, post treatment. The result of this study showed that the specimen was treated with optimum pre and post treatment(preweld HT($1200^{\circ}C$), Post treatment($1100^{\circ}C$ HIP, $1200^{\circ}C$ + $1100^{\circ}C$ + $800^{\circ}C$ HT) is mush superior.

  • 알루미나이징강에 대하여 초기마모영역에서 rolling-sliding 마모시험을 한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1) 2차 확산재의 내마모성이 가장 우수하고 처녀재에 비하여 저응력 레벨에서 약 18%, 고응력에서 약 40%의 마모감소를 나타낸다. 2) 2차 확산재는 피복층과 합금층 경계부근의 공공생성으로 인하여 예상보다 내마모성이 낮다. 3) 알루미나이징강의 rolling-sliding 접촉에 의한 마모파양의 형태는 spalling 이며 spalling crack은 합금속의 경계부근에서 발생한다.

  • 주된 도시들의 불투수성 포장화에 따른 현상으로 토양의 사막화를 일으키고 있으며, 나아가, 도시 온난화 현상을 발생시켜 도시지역의 평균 온도를 올리는 원인이 되고 있다. 이로 인해 우수가 투수성 토양에 흡수되거나 잔류되어야 하는 양이 줄어듦에 따라 자주 도심지내에서 범람이 되는 현상을 보여주고 있다. 결국은 우수시스템이 제대로 작동하지 않고 침식이 발생하고 있다. 투수성 포장시스템과 관련해서는 블록 포장이 여러 군데서 수년 동안 사용되어 왔다. 또한 투수성 블록 포장은 전통적으로 사용된 아스팔트 포장 및 콘크리트 포장에 비해 다양한 형태로 사용될 수 있는 장점과 더불어 타 포장보다 미적으로 낳은 면을 보여 주고 있다. 따라서 도로의 현장 조건을 모사하기 위해 본 연구에서는 실험용 슬러지 및 휠 트래킹 장비를 이용한 블록 포장의 기능적인 투수성 평가를 실시하였다.
