  • The ground high/low temperature test objective is to check the normal ground operation of FA-50 aircraft in the extreme ground ambient conditions. The aircraft was exposed in climatic conditions of the basic climatic category according to the MIL-HDBK-310. For verified normal operation in the extreme high temperature, the high temperature test was performed in the hot regional type conditions and accentuated solar radiation heat. This test was performed at the test chamber in ADD where is in Haemi. This paper was described about the test procedure of FA-50 high/low temperature including preparation, testing and results.

  • Data of the body surface is a necessary unit for the measuring of metabolism energy and activity energy. And also, these data are referring to check the degree of retaining warmth of clothes, to find the effect of heat insulation according to body surface, to calculate an average temperature of skin, and to study the several fields of clothing. In measuring of body surface, it si actually impossible to measure a subject's body surface in each experiment. As the experimental method, both gypsum method, by which the shape of body an be copied as it is, and the weighting method from which planed body surface area can be measured with consistent thickness of polyprophylene film as used. In fact, every female subject feels uncomfortable to measure her body surface as a naked body. There, it is providing a simple, accurate regressive equation with weight & height as variable factors in this study. This equation is as=117.02W+77.31H-3344.94 with average error : 0.1%, absolute average error : 2.07%.

  • The fluctuation of physical properties in wood or wood composites is an important subject when the materials in building and construction. Sorption and desorption occur in wood when exposed to the open air, and the temperature distribution in wood can fluctuate as a result of changes in environmental temperature, solar radiation, humidity, and wind velocity. In this study, the temperature difference and fluctuation caused by outdoor environment among different wood species were analyzed using a numerical method. The effect on the process of heat transfer in wood caused by environmental factors was investigated using 1-dimensional partial differential equation with real boundary and initial conditions. The experimental data have been used to check the accuracy of programming code. Through analysis, it was found out that density and moisture content have a negative effect on thermal diffusivity of wood.

  • Ultrasonic guided wave techniques have been widely used for long range nondestructive detection in tube-like structures. The present paper investigates the ultrasonic linear and nonlinear parameters for evaluating the thermal damage in aluminum pipe. Specimens were subjected to thermal loading. Flexible polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) comb transducers were used to generate and receive the ultrasonic waves. The second harmonic wave generation technique was used to check the material nonlinearity change after different heat loadings. The conventional linear ultrasonic approach based on attenuation was also used to evaluate the thermal damages in specimens. The results show that the proposed experimental setup is viable to assess the thermal damage in an aluminum pipe. The ultrasonic nonlinear parameter is a promising candidate for the prediction of micro-damages in a tube-like structure.

  • The combustion properties of sandwich panels were tested according to ISO 13784-1(Room Corner Test for Sandwich panel building systems) method to supplement ISO 9705 Room corner test, and analyzed comparatively. Several variables including heat release rate, smoke production rate, FIGRA, SMOGRA, thermal configuration, visual check lists and so on, were analyzed for four materials on sandwich panel systems. Finally, Fire performances of test results on each material by ISO 13784-1 are categorized by applying to the classification system of both EN 13501-1 and Eurefic research program

  • In the present work, Taguchi method for electron beam welding(EBW) process in AISI 4130 steel plate has been adopted for investigating the contribution of effect of welding variables. $A L_8(2^7)$ orthogonal array is adopted to obtain the effect of adjustment parameters. The adjustment parameters consist of accelerating voltage, beam current, travel speed and focus currrent. And the quality features selected for the EBW process are bead width of weldment, reinforcement, penetration depth, undercut and area of weld metal. Variance analysis is performed in order to check the effect of adjustment parameters on EBW. The mechanical properties of electron beam welded joints for each heat treatment conditions are investigated in comparison with those of base metal, especially from the view point of tensile and impact properties.

  • The prediction of performance, exhaust emissions and EGR effect is made by the SI engine cycle simulation. In this simulation several models are employed - two zome, thermodynamic combustion, mass fraction burned, heat transfer, chemical equilibrium, chemical kinetics for NOx, laminar flame speed for ignition delay. The chemical species in burned gas considered are 13 species-CO$_{2}$, CO, $O_{2}$, H$_{2}$O, H$_{2}$,OH, H, O, N$_{2}$, NO$_{2}$, N, Ar - and the cylinder pressure, burned and unburned zone temperature and composition of gas are calculated at each crank angle through the compression, ignition delay, combustion and expansion process. To check the validity of the model, experimental study is done for measuring emissions, combustion pressure and engine output. The predicted values for pressure and emissions show qualitative agreement with the measured data and the EGR effect also shows similar tendency.

  • Nanofluids is the fluids mixed with nanoscale particles and the mixed nano size materials affect heat transport. Researchers in this field has been focused on modeling and numerical computation by engineers In this paper, we analyze stability constraint of the dominant equations and check validate of the condition for most kinds of materials. So we mathematically analyze stability of the system. Also we apply Gauge-Uzawa algorithm to solve the system and prove stability of the method.

  • The purpose of this paper is concerned with a development of an air-powered handpiece for surgical operation. The handpiece is the tool of surgical instruments and it can be used to interchange multiple attachments for drilling, pinning, sawing, driving screws and reaming. Most of domestic medical instruments bring in overseas and the air-powered handpiece imported from foreign countries at 100% too. Therefore we develop new air powered handpiece. we research in 2D and 3D modeling, design of air line, analyze structure. The air-powered handpiece composes of body, power supply air-line, elements for mechanical power transmission, attachment, and surgical tools. The handpiece is developed by several processes that 3D design, machining, heat treatment and coating. The developed handpiece is experimented to confirm check the efficiency.
