보건교과교육이 중학생의 건강지식, 태도, 행위에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Regular Health Education affecting Health Knowledge, Attitude, Behavior on Middle School students)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of regular health education by school nurses on middle school student's health related knowledge, attitude and behavior. Methods : A quasi-experimental design with pretest and posttest measures was used. Questionnaire survey was conducted to middle school students(1st, 2nd year). The participants of the study were composed two groups : 274 in health education group and 336 in control group. Results : After seventeen-week of receiving regular health education, differences were observed between the experimental group and the control group to health knowledge(F=7.901, p=.005), health attitude(F=4.174, p=.042) and health behavior(F=7.675, p=.006). Conclusion : The regular health education by school nurses on middle school students improve their health related knowledge, attitude and behavior. So it is recommended to develop standardized manual and educational materials for providing systematic and effective health education.

일부 여대생들의 음주폐해 인식도 관련 요인 (Factors and Cognition about Harmful Use of Alcohol of Female University Students)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine cognition about harmful use of alcohol among female university students. Methods: The data were collected by questionnaire from the 389 female university students. The analysis of the data was used by SPSS program(ver. 18.0). Technical statistics analysis was used in general characteristics and drinking related characteristics and drinking related cognition of objects. Logistic regression was used in factors affecting on cognitive degree of drinking evil. Results: Cognitive degree of drinking evil was low as more drinking related outlay expenses and was low as more moderation in drinking and publicity experience. Conclusions: University and the government authorities must consider the seriousness and importance of the problem and enforce moderation in drinking and publicity for female university students and develop education program and prepare the publicity material.

한국 대학생의 성행동, 생식건강 관련 건강행위, 성경험 특성 실태 (Sexual Behavior, Health Risk Behaviors Related to Reproductive Health, and Sexual Experiences among Korean College Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe the sexual behavior, health risk related to reproductive health, and characteristics of sexual experience among college students in Korea. Methods: Six thousands college students were selected through proportional quota sampling based on region, college, and gender. Structured questionnaires were used for data collection. Descriptive statistics and chi-square test were used to describe the data. Results: Thirty eight percent (N=2,285) of the participants reported sexual intercourse. The mean age of first time sexual intercourse was 19.3 years old. Respondents reported the following health risks such as smoking, drinking, not exercising, no regular meal patterns, chronic disease status, and weight loss over 10 kg in the past three months showed significant differences by sexual intercourse experience (p<.01). Among those who had sexual intercourse experiences, 7.1% of them reported having a history of STDs and 11.6% reported a pregnancy or pregnancy of one's partner. Conclusion: The findings of this study reflect the current trends of sex behaviors among college students and correlations between health risks related to reproductive health and sexual intercourse experiences. Developing reproductive health education programs based on the findings and providing the programs to college students through a school nurse is suggested.

일부 대학생의 외모관리 행동이 구강건강 행동에 미치는 영향 (The Impact of Appearance Management Behavior on Oral Practice Behavior of Some College Students)

  • Purpose : The college student period is pivotal for establishing oral health management behaviors and habits that persist in adulthood; it is necessary to develop the correct behaviors. Appearance management behavior not only involves the management of an individual's appearance but also ensures a healthy quality of life. Additionally, it is related to health and oral health behavior. The purpose of this study was to determine how college students' appearance management behavior affects their oral health management behavior and to provide basic data for developing policies appropriate for the lifestyle of college students. Methods : A self-administered questionnaire was completed by 450 university students in Gyeonggi, Choung-nam, Daejeon on April 27, 2022. The survey comprised 5 questions about general characteristics, 18 about appearance management behavior, and 8 about oral health behavior. The sum of the practice questions were calculated, with higher scores indicating better oral health behavior. Results : The oral health management behavior exhibited was generally high. Notably, the health-related group (61.2 %) demonstrated significantly higher levels of clothing management (60.5 %), makeup management (56.6 %), and skincare (56.6 %) behaviors, whereas body management behavior (61.2 %) was deemed 'normal' (p<.05). The results of the stepwise multiple regression analysis examining the impact of appearance management behavior on oral health management indicated that clothing management (β=0.17) and skincare behaviors (β=0.12) were influential factors. Among these, clothing management behavior was the most influential. Conclusion : To promote oral health practices among college students, this study incorporated factors related to appearance management into oral health education to increase participation and interest. We intend our findings to serve as foundational data for developing oral health education programs that integrate elements of appearance management.

일부 간호 대학생들의 건강증진행위 실천에 영향을 미치는 요인 - SAT 모델을 중심으로 - (Factors Leading to Health Promotion Behavior among the Students in a Nursing School of a University - based on the SAT -)

  • Objectives: College students experiences more stress than when they were in high school. The students in nursing college, experience a variety of stress related to clinical practices, the examination for registered nurse license etc. The purpose of this study was to identify the factors that affect the health promotion behavior among the students in a nursing college based on SAT(Social Action Theory). Methods: The study was a cross-sectional design with a convenience sample of 427 students recruited from April to May in 2005. SAT was utilized for the theoretical framework of the study. The instruments used were Profile of Mood Stress, Life Stress Scale for college student, Social Adaptation Scale, Health Knowledge and Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile. Data were analyzed with SPSS 12.0 program. Results: The study showed that grades, moods, and satisfaction of relationship with friends, satisfaction with pocket money made up 29.0% of significant factors related to health promotion behavior among the college students in nursing. Conclusion: It suggests that the known factors need to be taken into consideration when developing the health promotion program for college students in nursing.

경기지역 일부 초등학생의 구강보건행위에 영향을 미치는 요인 (The factors affecting oral health behavior of elementary-school students in Gyeonggi province)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to provide resources to develop oral health education programs to make schoolchildren be able to do oral care behaviors voluntarily by analyzing the factors affecting elementary school students's oral health behaviors. Methods : A self administered questionnaire based survey was conducted with 233 students (117 boys, 116 girls) of sixth graders at Gyeonggi Province from September 1st to October 2nd, 2012. Researchers explained to willing participants the purpose of this study and then, asked respondents to complete their own questionnaire. A total of 233 questionnaires were properly completed while 7 questionnaires had insincere sections and were thus excepted. Results : 1. Children's higher level of oral health-related knowledge have more positive oral health attitudes(p=0.000) and oral health behaviors(p=0.001). 2. The higher oral health behavior mothers have, the more students have oral health knowledge and better oral health attitude, the higher the oral health behavior children have(p<0.01). 3. Students' positive attitude towards oral health(${\beta}$=0.548, p=0.000) and Mother's more attention to Oral check after tooth-brushing(${\beta}$=-0.149, p=0.005) were associated with children's sound dental health behaviors. Conclusions : The findings of this study suggest that the oral health knowledge, attitude and behaviors are associated with students' oral health behavior. Thus, effective support in oral health education, is need to be enhanced among the elementary school students rather than only focus on conveying knowledge to them. Since, mother's oral health-related knowledge and attitudes on the tooth-brushing behaviour and dental health of their children influence on child's oral health, the development of Comprehensive oral health education program into the mother and child needs to be carried out.

일부 고등학생의 자기 통제력이 스트레스와 구강건강 관련 삶의 질에 대한 조절효과 연구 (Influence of self-control on stress management and oral health related quality of life in high school students)

  • Objectives: The purpose of the study is to investigate the influence of self-control on stress management and oral health related quality of life in high school students. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 422 high school students in Ulsan from December 1, 2014 to February 20, 2015. The study instrument consisted of stress and self-control. The stress instrument included 17 items modified by Kim and Lee. The self-control instrument was modified by Kim and had 20 items. Pearson's correlation analysis was conducted to analyze the relationship between stress, self-control and oral health related quality of life. Regression analysis was used to analyze the effect of the stress on oral heal related quality of life. Hierarchical regression analysis was done to analyze the control effect of self-control in the relationship between the stress and oral health related quality of life. Results: The higher stress level resulted in the lower oral heal related quality of life. The higher self-control maintained the higher oral health related quality of life. The higher long term pursuit of satisfaction led to higher oral health related quality of life. The immediate suppression of satisfaction had a positive influence on the higher oral health related quality of life. Conclusions: There were significant correlations in self-control on stress management and oral health related quality of life.

초등학생의 건강증진행위 실천에 관한 연구 (The Study of Performance of Health Promoting Behavior in Elementary School Students)

  • This study was the research of health promoting behavior of the 6th grade students of elementary school and general characteristics, health related characteristics and health promoting behavior following the health education were analysed. The performance of health promoting behavior related to the prevention of infectious diseases showed the highest score above all. The school, which received health education by the scheduled education course, home correspondence, and health broadcasting education, showed higher health promoting behavior performance after the health education. On the basis of the results of this study, health promotion program development is required to accomplish health promoting behavior among the elementary school students.

재한중국유학생의 문화적응환경에서의 건강증진행위와 건강관련 삶의 질 (Health Promotion Behavior and Health-related Quality of Life by Acculturation Levels among Chinese University Students in Korea)

  • 본 연구는 재한 중국 유학생의 문화적응 상황 하에서 건강증진행위와 건강관련 삶의 질의 관계를 파악해 보고자 하였다. 서울 및 수도권 소재 10개 대학의 학부 및 대학원 석/박사 과정에 속해있는 총 395명의 중국인 유학생들이 문화적응도 및 건강증진행위와, 건강관련 삶의 질 SF-12 도구를 이용한 자가보고식 설문조사에 참여해주었다. 그 결과 문화적응도가 낮은 유학생들은 건강증진행위가 신체적 삶의 질 점수에 크게 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 문화적응도가 높은 경우 건강증진행위가 정신적 삶의 질에 큰 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 문화적응도가 건강증진행위와 삶의 질의 관계에서 통제요인으로 작용할 수 있다는 결과이다. 그러므로 재한 중국유학생들의 건강증진행위와 삶의 질을 개선할 수 있는 중재 프로그램을 개발할 경우 문화적응도를 함께 고려하면 프로그램의 효과를 극대화시킬 수 있는 방법을 찾는데 도움이 될 것으로 사료된다.

건강증진학교에서 초등학교와 중학교 학생들의 정신건강 실태 및 관련된 가정-사회적 요인들 (Mental Health of Elementary and Middle School Students, and Related Familial-Social Factors in Health Promoting School)

  • Purpose: This study was a part of preliminary survey for establishing Korean HPS(Health Promoting School) model which was originally suggested by WHO. Methods: Three elementary and middle schools were sampled in urban and rural area across three level of social-economic status, and survey was conducted on one class in each grade by random selection. To measure mental health and social and familial factors, self-esteem scale, self-efficacy scale, depression scale, family cohesion scale, parent-child communication scale, adolescent's mental health and problem behavior questionnaire(AMPQ), and other question items about family status and economic level were conducted. Students' mental health level was compared by region, sex, grade, and other familial and economic factors. Results: Familial and social factors such as economical and educational level of parents, number of family members were different between rural and urban area. Also, students of rural area got lower scores at self-esteem, self-efficacy, but higher scores at extroverted problem behavior than their urban counterparts. In pre-school students, high grade students' self-esteem, and family cohesion scores were lower than low grade students. And sexual differences were found across problem behavior domain and region in middle school students. Especially, the students of single-parent family and lower economic family got insistently low scores at various mental health related scales. Conclusion: These results should be considered, when the HPS model is designed and applied in Korea.
