They were surveyed demographic characteristics(gender, age, drinking, morning diet, health recognition and etc), medical stress scale, Maslachh burnout inventory, Korea acceptance and action, and Ego Resilience Scale. For statistical analysis, chi-square test, Student t-test, correlation analysis, and simple regression analysis has been used. Results: In Medical stress scale and ego resilience, it is not significant difference by gender. Female students were significantly higher than male students in Maslach burnout inventory(P=0.015). Male students were significantly higher than female students in Korea Acceptance and Action(P=0.002). Health recognition have negative correlation between medical stress and academic exhaustion, and positive correlation between psychological flexibility and ego resilience. Conclusions: Through these results, we need to further study and develop strategies to reduce stress according to gender in Korean medical college.

This study was attempted to understand the phenomenon in depth by exploring the special experiences of occupational health nurses who guided occupational health nursing practice education. Participants were eight occupational health nurses who had experience teaching occupational health nursing practice for more than a semester. Data collected as focus groups were analyzed by phenomenological methods. As a result of the analysis, the experience of student practice education of occupational health nurses was derived into four categories: 'Nursing student practice education started from their own experiences', 'Proceeding nursing student practice despite difficulties', 'Feel rewarding' and 'Presenting alternatives'. An understanding the experience of nursing student practice education by occupational health nurses can be used as a reference to improve or develop occupational health nursing practice curriculum, such as establishing practice regulations suitable for the characteristics of occupational health nursing practice subjects.
Background: 6-year College of Pharmacy curriculum had started in Korea, and the students in college of pharmacy are supposed to have student practice in the hospital pharmacy, community pharmacy, pharmaceutical company and administration to experience the role of pharmacists in advance. However, despite Korean Association of Pharmacy Education provided its own teaching plan, most Pharmacy Schools and the hospital pharmacy have difficulty in performing the desirable student practice program because they seldom experienced it. So, we reported the student practice program in the hospital pharmacy conducted by Yonsei University College of Pharmacy prior to the other numerous universities and the evaluation of survey on the student pharmacy practice program. Method: Severance Hospital, Gangnam Severance Hospital and National Health Insurance Service Ilsan Hospital took part in the student pharmacy practice program of Yonsei University. Students took 8-week pharmacy practice in Severance Hospital or Gangnam Severance Hospital plus 4-week pharmacy practice in National Health Insurance Service Ilsan Hospital. Also, students had once-a-week presentation class at school. A survey was conducted to evaluate the student practice program. Results: The presentation class was considerably helpful to share their own experiences at different practice sites in different hospitals, but there were some disadvantages that students could not experience the specific pharmacy practice site on the day of once-a-week presentation at school and so on. The results of the survey on the student practice program reported that students were satisfied with the overall practice program and presentation class at school. Also, they answered that the student practice program in the hospital pharmacy was significantly helpful for planning of the future career. Conclusion: Through the performance of the student practice program in Yonsei University, the adjustment of the student practice program in the hospital is planned to provide better experience of practice to the students and the results will be helpful for the student practice in the hospital of the other colleges of pharmacy.
This study was conducted to suggest a necessity in student health promotion device by comparing the health status and identifying the environmental health influence of the elementary students in Busan. Five schools were selected as sample group based on the number of air pollutant emitting facilities and whole 6th grade 825 students(391 from industrial area and 434 from residential area) were selected from these elementary school. The data were collected from convenient sample based on written questionnaires from 1st to 30th, Nov, 2001. The student group who lives in an industrial area experiences more the symptoms of the eyes(p=.033) and a cold(p=.000)(p=.015), more frequent indirect smoking condition(p=.023, p=.001), and think ill of the relation about air pollution and health(p=.002), cognition of the surroundings(p=.000), and perception of subjective health status(p=.000). There were not significant differences in the number of student in asthma score by their residents, but there were significant differences at the dwelling term of the students in asthma score(P=.002). According to the above results, there must be a device of preventive treatment and early diagnosis of disease needed for the student in industrial areas because they are in relatively poor health and social economic status than residential areas.
This study was to explore factors determining school-based student health screening participation. Participants were six health coordinators in West Virginia, the United States. They have responsibilities in the student health screening and conducted a phone interview. The results are as follows. First, opt-in of health screening came from the interest in students' health, peer pressure, and free screening. Second, opt-out of health screening came from the indifference to a school newsletter, anxiety about an information disclosure, and the fear of drawing blood. Third, the advantage of health screening was provided for free. Fourth, the primary decision-maker was parents, but sometimes was children. Fifth, non-family members also influenced on the participation in the health screening. Therefore, a school newsletter, parents and teachers education, and free screening may be required to improve the participation rate.
This study was conducted to investigate correlation theory of planned behavior, self efficacy and health locus of control about smoking cessation behavior for university student. We sampled 204 university student smokers using questionnaires and analyzed the data using Pearson correlation coefficient. The results of this study were as follows : 1. There were significant positive correlation between theory of planned behavior(intention : r=.215, p=.005, attitude : r=.160, p=.025, perceived behavior control : r=.298, p=.000) and self efficacy. 2. There were significant positive correlation between theory of planned behavior(attitude : r=.228, p=.002) and internal health locus of control. There were significant positive correlation between theory of planned behavior(attitude : r=.203, p=.004, subjective norm : r=.141, p=.047) and external health locus of control. There were significant negative correlation between theory of planned behavior(perceived behavior control : r=-.152, p=.034) and accidental health locus of control. This study has shown a correlation between theory of planned behavior and self efficacy and health locus of control. As a result of these findings, I suggest to develop the intervention program for smoking cessation.

This study was designed to measure the level of satisfaction according to the contents, guidance, environment, time, and the evaluation of clinical practice. Two hundred thirty-one nursing student from baccalaureate program in H-gun was sampled. A scale consisting of 75 questions, developed by the researcher, was used to gather data from September 14 through 27, 2012. The data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, paired t-test, pearson correlation, and multiple linear regression using the SPSS WIN 18.0 program. Results. The results were summarized : Self-directed learning didn't show a significant different by grade(t=0.83, p=.934). Nursing student's satisfaction of clinical practice didn't show a significant different by grade(t=0.26, p=.798). The relationship between self-directed learning correlated with the degree of nursing student's satisfaction in clinical practice(r=.44, p<.001). The factors of self-directed learning described nursing student's satisfaction of clinical practice as $R^2$=.215(F=9.858, p<.001). Conclusions. It was found that a higher degree of satisfaction in clinical practice depends on a higher degree of self-directed learning. Therefore, nursing faculty should plan intervention to improve satisfaction level of clinical practice by fostering self-directed learning.
