BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: The economic recession caused by the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic disproportionately affected poor and vulnerable populations globally. Better uunderstanding of vulnerability to shocks in food supply and demand in the Asia Pacific region is needed. SUBJECTS/METHODS: Using secondary data from rapid assessment surveys during the pandemic response (n = 10,420 in mid-2020; n = 6,004 in mid-2021) in India, Indonesia, Myanmar, and Vietnam, this study examined the risk factors for reported income reduction or job loss in mid-2021 and the temporal trend in food security status (household food availability, and market availability and affordability of essential items) from mid-2020 to mid-2021. RESULTS: The proportion of job loss/reduced household income was highest in India (60.4%) and lowest in Indonesia (39.0%). Urban residence (odds ratio [OR] range, 2.20-4.11; countries with significant results only), female respondents (OR range, 1.40-1.69), engagement in daily waged labor (OR range, 1.54-1.68), and running a small trade/business (OR range, 1.66-2.71) were significantly associated with income reduction or job loss in three out of 4 countries (all P < 0.05). Food stock availability increased significantly in 2021 compared to 2020 in all four countries (OR range, 1.91-4.45) (all P < 0.05). Availability of all essential items at markets increased in India (OR range, 1.45-3.99) but decreased for basic foods, hygiene items, and medicine in Vietnam (OR range, 0.81-0.86) in 2021 compared to 2020 (all P < 0.05). In 2021, the affordability of all essential items significantly improved in India (OR range, 1.18-3.49) while the affordability of rent, health care, and loans deteriorated in Indonesia (OR range, 0.23-0.71) when compared to 2020 (all P < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Long-term social protection programs need to be carefully designed and implemented to address food insecurity among vulnerable groups, considering each country's market conditions, consumer food purchasing behaviors, and financial support capacity.
This study examined the moonlighting behavior in Korea, to which relatively less attention has been paid. Based on the wage earners of 25 to 65 year old married, the results show that about 1.4% of the sample have dual jobs, working very long hours, on average 60 hours for a week combining both the primary job and the secondary job. The results of the fixed effects logit model on the moonlighting participation indicate that the wage rate and the hours of work in the primary job have a negative effect on moonlighting participation while the insecurity of the primary job appears to lead to a higher probability of taking a secondary job. The results of the moonlighting hours analysis suggest that hours worked in the primary job have a negative effect on moonlight hours while the wage of the primary job does not appear to have any significant effect on moonlighting hours. Interestingly enough, the wage of the secondary job appears to have a negative impact on moonlighting hours, which might be very plausible considering the long working hours moonlighters are engaged in.
The purpose of this study was to determine the moderating effect of internal marketing on the relationship between job stress and turnover intention of dental hygienists. The subjects of the study were dental hygienists in Ulsan, Busan and Kyungnam(N=191). The data were analyzed using SPSS for windows version 18.0. In conclusion, we obtained the next results. First, the influencing factor in turnover intention showed next sequences, job demand, organizational system, job insecurity and interpersonal conflict(R2=.321) Second, internal marketing showed had moderating effect on the relationship between job stress and turnover intention. Third, empowerment and reward system in sub-domain of internal marketing has moderating effect on the relationship between job stress and turnover intention. In conclusion, the results of this study will contribute to the future dental human resource management.

Purpose : This study will recognize about the influences that stretching exercise with ultrasound and microwave application has on a knee joint position sense after induction to muscle fatigue. Methods : The object by each ten people divided at random thirty physical healthy adult men to constant group 1, group 2, group 3 to the objects. Treadmill exercised for induction to muscle fatigue, and let an exercise intensity decided on 85% of the maximum heart beat number with the goal heart beat number, and you exercise. Goal heart beat number measured as used heat rate monitor, and measured a oneself at the scale in order to recognize own physical state after end treadmill exercise to all objects to criteria to evaluate an ability shown in case of sports. Knee joint position sense used a N-K table, and experimenter did so as adaptation got passively arbitrary three angle done, and to order an original position. The object carried in person out one angle that experimenter designated, and measured repeatedly an error along him to this three times after being so. Rear before induction to muscle fatigue a position sense and measured after stretching exercise application, and played. Stretching exercise after induction applied stretching exercise, stretching exercise with ultrasound, stretching exercise with microwave, and applied to each group 1, group 2 and group 3 to muscle fatigue. Results : The result each group the difference which considers does not come out it was not but, improvement of the position sense is the possibility of knowing was from group 1, group 2 and group 3. Snake tomato (Trichosanthes cucumerina) has been cultivated and used as a replacement for Lycopersicum esculentum in many Asian and African diets. Matured T. cucumerina fruits were harvested at different ripening stages and separated into coats and pulps for analyses to determine their suitability for use in culinary. They were analyzed for the nutritional composition and antioxidant potential using different biochemical assays [1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl, 2,2'-azinobis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) radical scavenging activities, and ferric reducing antioxidant power] and antioxidative enzymes activities. The nutritional composition revealed that T. cucumerina contains over 80% water and is very rich in fiber, thus it can serve as a good natural laxative. The lycopene and ${\beta}$-carotene contents were especially high in the ripe pulp with values of $21.62{\pm}1.22$ and $3.96{\pm}0.14mg$/100 g, respectively. The ascorbic acid content was highest in the pulp of unripe fruit with a value of $56.58{\pm}1.08mg$/100 g and significantly (P<0.05) decreased as ripening progressed. The antioxidant potential of the fruits for the 3 assays showed that unripe pulp> ripe coat> ripe pulp> unripe coat. There were decreases in the antioxidant enzymes (superoxide dismutase, ascorbate peroxidase, and glutathione reductase) activities, with the exception of catalase, as ripening progressed in the fruits. These decreased activities may lead to the softening of the fruit during ripening. Harnessing the antioxidative potential of T. cucumerina in culinary through consumption of the coats and pulps will alleviate food insecurity and help maintain good health among many dwellers in sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of job stress on job satisfaction according to interpersonal relationship type among school dieticians and nutrition teachers. The online survey was conducted from Oct. 26th to Nov. 7th, 2017 in 2,000 randomly selected dieticians and nutrition teachers in the capital area. A total of 453 collected questionnaires were used for analysis. SPSS v.21.0 Statistical Package Program was used for the statistical process. For the results regarding interpersonal relationship type of dieticians, open-type (73.3%) was the highest, followed by self-assertive-type (23.0%), isolated-type (2.6%), and careful-type (1.1%). Regarding overall job satisfaction, 'human relation' was the highest, followed by 'job itself', 'working environment', and 'personal rating & welfare system', in that order. According to interpersonal relationship type, in the case of 'open-type' or 'careful-type', job satisfaction was relatively high. Regarding overall job stress, 'job demand' was the highest, followed by 'lack of reward', 'organizational system', 'interpersonal conflict', 'occupational climate', 'job insecurity', and 'insufficient job control', in that order. In accordance with interpersonal relationship type, overall job stress index was high in terms of 'self-assertive-type' or 'careful-type'. For the results of analyzing the correlation between job satisfaction and job stress index, all areas showed statistically significant negative correlations. Multiple regression analysis was performed to study the effects of job stress on job satisfaction mediating interpersonal relationship type. Job stress had different effects on job satisfaction in terms of 'open-type' and 'self-assertive type'. In conclusion, different strategies are needed for dieticians with different interpersonal relationship types to improve job satisfaction and to reduce job stress.
Objective : Several recent studies determined the associations of job stress with depression and suicidal idea, but the association between the number of job stress components and depression remains unclear. In the present study, we investigated the associations of the number of components of job stress with depression and suicidal idea. Methods : We studied 194,226 participants who attended employee health screenings from January to December, 2014, and completely answered all the questionnaires, including the short form of Korean Occupational Stress Scale (KOSS), the Center for Epidemiologic Study-Depression (CES-D) and suicidal idea. The presence of clinical depressive symptoms was defined as a CES-D score of ${\geq}21$. The subjects in the highest quartile of each subscale of KOSS were considered as suffering from each component of job stress. Chisquare tests, t-tests and logistic regressions were performed to compare study outcomes between groups. Results : When we included all seven components of job stress, there was no significant association of the number of the components with depressive symptoms, or suicidal idea. However, the prevalence of depressive symptoms and suicidal idea was increased only in three occupational stress subscales including job demand, job insecurity and occupational climate. When we analyzed only these 3 components of job stress, the number of job stress subscales was significantly associated with depressive symptoms and suicidal idea, even after adjustment for sex and age. Conclusion : The number of components of occupational stress was associated with depressive symptoms and suicidal idea, only in the related components.
Objective : Korean employees tend to release their stress by alcohol drinking. This study aimed to investigate the association between job stress and problematic drinking in Korean employees. Methods : The study participants were 72,119 employees who attended health screenings and responded to the Alcohol Use Disorder Identification Test-Korea (AUDIT-K), Korean Occupational Stress Scale-Short Form (KOSS-SF), Center for Epidemiologic Study-Depression (CES-D), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and questionnaire on suicidal ideation and sociodemographic characteristics. We investigated the sociodemographic and clinical characteristics of the problematic drinking group ($AUIDT-K{\geq}12$) and used binary logistic regression to determine the impact of job stress on problematic drinking. Results : Age, gender, marital status, education year, sleep duration, obesity, smoking, suicidal ideation, and depression and anxiety showed significant differences between the problematic drinking group and normal group. Among the various kinds of job stresses, job insecurity and lack of reward were associated with problematic drinking. Conclusion : The result of this study suggested that certain kinds of job stress might be associated with problematic drinking in Korean employees.
The purpose of this study was to find ways to reduce old age anxiety by identifying the differences between old age anxiety, grandparents' connection, filial piety, and characteristics, and by identifying factors that affect old age anxiety. The study participants conveniently labeled college students residing in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Chungcheong provinces, and collected data from 2 April to 15 June 2018 and distributed a total of 250 structured questionnaires and retrieved 235 copies to use part 213 for the final analysis. The analysis used SPSS 20.0 Version to obtain frequency, percentage, average, and standard deviation, and age anxiety according to the characteristics of the subject, grandparents and sense of filial piety were analyzed with t-test and ANOVA, and the correlation between aging anxiety, grandparents' bond and filial consciousness was confirmed as Pearson correlation co-efficient. To check the effects of aging anxiety, polylinearity was diagnosed and analyzed with Stepwise multiple regression. Research found that there were statistically significant differences in age insecurity according to majors, grandparents and ties by gender and filial piety by religion and grandparents. And the lower the bond with grandparents, the higher the filial piety, the higher the anxiety was.

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Food literacy (FL) is a crucial skill for selecting sustainable and healthy food options, necessitating the identification of vulnerable groups in the community using valid measurement tools. Identifying weak domains in FL is essential for enhancing the overall FL. This study examined the FL levels of Seoul citizens based on their sociodemographic characteristics and assessed the relationship between FL, food intake, and weight status. SUBJECTS/METHODS: This study utilized the data from the Seoul Food Survey, a cross-sectional study employing representative samples of Seoul citizens. Data collection occurred from September to October 2021, with 4,039 citizens aged 18 yrs and above participating in face-to-face surveys. Thirty-three FL items were assessed, comprising 14 items in the nutrition and safety (NS) domain, eight items in the cultural and relational (CR) domain, and 11 items in the socio-ecological (SE) domain. In addition, data on food intake sufficiency and obesity status were collected. The descriptive statistics, t-tests, analysis of variance, and logistic regression analysis were used for analysis. RESULTS: Men, students, young adults, older citizens, and people experiencing food insecurity had the lowest scores for all the FL domains. The highest quartile group of NS scores had a higher probability of consuming adequate servings of vegetables and fruits, with significant linear trends observed (P for trend < 0.05). In all three FL domains, the odds ratio for obesity was significantly lower in the groups with high FL scores (P < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: A close relationship was observed between low FL, obesity, and food intake, even after controlling for other covariates. Vulnerable groups with low FL were also identified. Therefore, it is essential to develop programs to improve FL and the health and well-being of these groups.
