The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Health Promotion Behavior on Spiritual well-being through decision making ability. The data for the study were collected from April 1 to 15, 2019 and the final data used in this study were 332. The research method was cross-sectional questionnaire survey. The collected data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, $X^2$ analysis, multiple regressions and median effect analysis using SPSS 18.0. Among the participants of this study, 18.1% of men and 81.9% of women were female. The results of this study appeared that the differences in sub-factors of health promotion behaviors by gender were higher in female in health responsibility, substance abuse, social relationship, and self-actualization (p<0.01), while men were higher in exercise than women (p<0.05). Differences in sub-factors of health promotion behaviors by gender were higher in female in health responsibility, substance abuse, social relationship, and self-actualization (p<0.01), while men were higher in exercise than women (p<0.05). Decision making (t=4.899, p<0.01), Health responsibility (t=-1.990, p<0.05), Substance abuse (t=7.344, p<0.01), Exercise (t=7.344, p<0.01), and Self-actualization (t=7.619, p<0.01) were appeared to affect Spiritual Well-Being under statistical significance. Also Decision Making Ability had a partial mediating role in health responsibility and social relationship, which were sub-factors of health promotion behavior, affecting spiritual Well-Being.
Background: This study analyzes the linear and non-linear effects of the hard and soft dimensions of job quality on the overall health of wage workers. It also examines the congruence or fit between the hard and soft job quality on the overall health of wage workers. Methods: This study measured thirty indicators that constitute job quality and reduced the indicators into twelve sub-dimensions of job quality using reflective factor analysis. In addition, this study derived two dimensions of job quality from the twelve subdimensions, namely the hard and soft job quality using formative factor analysis. This paper applied the response surface analysis to analyze the congruence effect between the two dimensions of job quality. Results: A logarithmic relationship was found between the dimension of hard job quality and the worker's overall health. This study also verified that the congruence effect between the two dimensions of job quality does not exist, and the combined effect of job quality is lower when the two dimensions of job quality are at the same level than the effect when either level of job quality is high or low. Conclusions: Although hard and soft job quality has independent positive effects on the overall health of wage workers, the two dimensions of job quality are not congruent or not in harmony with each other. This incongruence between hard and soft job quality, together with a higher impact of hard job quality, suggests that the role of soft job quality on overall health is relatively limited.
Background: Supplier induced demand (SID) indicates the case when doctors increase the demand of the patients, following their (physicians') own best interests rather than patients'. This may occur when asymmetry of information exists between suppliers and consumers. This study aims to confirm whether SID exists in the Korean setting, particularly by dividing SID into both 'induced demand effect' and 'availability effect.' Methods: Induced demand effect and availability effect are differentiated following Carlsen & Grytten's theoretical frame which divides doctor density regions into high and low ones. Results: Positive correlation between doctors' density and utilization of their services was found, which could be interpreted as 'availability effect.' Conclusion: The result suggests that additional medical use for additional doctor, particularly in the area of low doctor density, can be interpreted to occur to meet the basic medical need of the people rather than as a result of unnecessary induced demand. It is important to make more medical doctors provided and to distribute them appropriately across the region in such a country like Korea where doctor's density is relatively low.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the moderating effect of health privacy information on the relationship between the factors that affect the behavioral intention of the usage of u-health system have. Therefore, as a research hypothesis in TRA (Theory of Reasoned Action), self-efficacy and perceived usefulness will have a positive effect on the behavioral intention of the u-health system, and in the path, that personal information factors have an effect on each path. This study used the PLS-SEM methodology to verify the proposed research model. As a result of the analysis, this study showed that the moderating effect of health personal information in the presented model affects to some extent by the increase of R2 explanatory power. However, it was found that it was more consistent with the role of the independent variable rather than the moderating influence on the perceived usefulness.
