Objectives The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of BMI (body mass index), blood parameters and life pattern on KOQOL (Korean version of obesity-related quality-of-life scale) in Health checkup examinees of college students. Methods A group of 2992 test subjects took their medical examination. With their height and weight, we diagnosed obesity according to BMI. KOQOL was measured by survey conducted using self-report questionnaires, after excluding sexual life related question. We analysed relationship between KOQOL and BMI, blood parameters, life pattern using SPSS version 21.0. Results 1. There were significant differences in KOQOL according to BMI, gender, creatinine. 2. Female showed higher KOQOL than male. 3. Normal weight group showed lowest KOQOL in male, but underweight group showed lowest KOQOL in female. 4. Group who had more than 6 breakfast, lunch and dinner each in a week showed significantly lower KOQOL than that who didn't. Conclusions Obesity has significant influence on quality of life, so therefore there is a need for correct weight perception in weight control program, and KOQOL can be used in evaluating patients mental and social health.

Background: Studies on the association between occupational stress and depression have been frequently reported. However, the cross-sectional designs of studies limited insight into causal associations. In this study, we investigated the longitudinal association between occupational stress and new-onset depression among employees in a single manufacturing plant. Methods: The annual health checkup data of employees at a manufacturing plant in Korea were collected. A total of 1,837 male employees without depression who completed a health checkup during two consecutive years were included. Occupational stress was measured using a short form of the Korea Occupational Stress Scale (KOSS-SF), and depression was assessed using a Patient Health Questionnaire-2. The association between occupational stress change over the two years and newly developed depression was investigated using two logistic regression models. Results: Across all sub-factors of KOSS-SF, employees who reported increased occupational stress had a higher risk of new-onset depression. Newly developed depression was significantly associated with job demand (odds ratio [OR]: 4.34; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 2.37-7.96), job insecurity (OR: 3.21; 95% CI: 1.89-5.48), occupational climate (OR: 3.18; 95% CI: 1.91-5.31), lack of reward (OR: 2.28; 95% CI: 1.26-4.12), interpersonal conflict (OR: 2.14; 95% CI: 1.18-3.86), insufficient job control (OR: 1.93; 95% CI: 1.05-3.56), and the organizational system (OR: 1.84; 95% CI: 1.01-3.36). Conclusions: For every sub-factor of the KOSS-SF, occupational stress increase and persistent high stress were associated with the risk of developing new-onset depression. Among the seven sub-factors, job demand had the most significant effect. Our results show that occupational stress should be managed to promote employee mental healthcare.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the scaling experience and related factors of people diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. Methods: The subjects were 30,680 people diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis from the 2014 community health survey who were $${\geq_-}19$$ years old. Data were analyzed by chi-square test and multiple logistic regression analysis. Results: Those having regular scaling included well educated people, drinkers, more than three times tooth brushing practice, and regular dental checkup. The respondents were in the higher quartile of income And the respondents who were in the higher quartile of income were less likely to have scaling experience (p<0.05). Conclusions: The scaling experience was closely related with the age, educational level, residential area, income, drinking, tooth brushing practice, and regular dental checkup. It is necessary to investigate the influencing factors of rheumatoid arthritis and periodontal diseases in the further studies.

For the types of checkup, the rate of uterine cancer checkup than that of breast cancer self-examination or cholesterol test was higher both in the rural community(75.6%) and cities(77.4%). 2. The results of comparing actual conditions of the middle-aged women in the rural urban area were as follows; the recognition of health of the urban women was 'Very healthy (7.2%),' 'Healthy (35.5%),' 'Moderate (46.5%),' and 'Not healthy (10.3%), while the recognition of the rural women was 'Very healthy (2.5%),' 'Healthy (30.0%),' 'Moderate (36.3%),' and 'Not healthy (30.6%)'. These results showed a statistically significant difference (p=.000). Women having any problems in health were 48.1% and 36.8% in the rural and the urban respectively and it had a statistically significant difference (p=.042). For the most of health problems, arthritis accounted for 29.4% in the rural community and arthritis and constipation accounted for 21.3% in the urban. According to findings of this study, it can be concluded that rural women had more health problems, felt they were not healthy themselves and were checked up regularly less than the urban women, and their health care was poor. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze health status of women working in traditional marketplace and their needs for public healthcare services. Methods: A descriptive survey of 500 women working at three traditional marketplaces was conducted. Results: street vendors' health status were much poorer than store merchants'.
