일부 직업군인의 구강건강관리 실태와 치과위생사에 대한 인식도 조사 (Recognition about dental hygienists' duties in dental hygienists and dental hygiene students)

  • This study aims to identify the status of oral care of professional soldiers and analyze the relationship between oral care needs and oral health symptoms based on oral health recognition, thus providing an opportunity to create a system for improving oral health of professional soldiers. The study was conducted on a total of 232 military personnel aged 19 or older who were employed in the military. The questionnaire for this study was commissioned to respond by explaining the purpose of the study and how to respond to the survey by telephone with the selected sub-employer. The content included in the questionnaire consisted of general characteristics, oral care status, and awareness of dental hygienists. When the subjective oral health condition was poor, normal, or good, it was all shown that the toothbrush was done more than three times a day, and the oral examination was all examined. In particular, 68.1 percent of the respondents said they were in good subjective health. Preventive treatment was the highest in the group with good subjective oral health. Of the total respondents, 83.6 percent said "yes" to the question of knowing dental hygienists, while 65.5 percent said "yes" to the question of whether they know the work of dental hygienists, recognizing that most of the respondents were aware of dental hygienists and their work. Both the group that said they knew the dental hygienist and the group that said they did not know answered 43.5% as an assistant. In conclusion, oral health projects will have to be carried out in line with military situations in order to maintain a healthy oral state of professional soldiers, and long-term planning for active oral health care, especially as an important role of personnel in charge of health care in the military is needed.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation: New Concept

  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a series of life-saving actions that improve the chances of survival, following cardiac arrest. Successful resuscitation, following cardiac arrest, requires an integrated set of coordinated actions represented by the links in the Chain of Survival. The links include the following: immediate recognition of cardiac arrest and activation of the emergency response system, early CPR with an emphasis on chest compressions, rapid defibrillation, effective advanced life support, and integrated post-cardiac arrest care. The newest development in the CPR guideline is a change in the basic life support sequence of steps from "A-B-C" (Airway, Breathing, Chest compressions) to "C-A-B" (Chest compressions, Airway, Breathing) for adults. Also, "Hands-Only (compression only) CPR" is emphasized for the untrained lay rescuer. On the basis of the strength of the available evidence, there was unanimous support for continuous emphasis on high-quality CPR with compressions of adequate rate and depth, which allows for complete chest recoil, minimizing interruptions in chest compressions and avoiding excessive ventilation. High-quality CPR is the cornerstone of a system of care that can optimize outcomes beyond return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC). There is an increased emphasis on physiologic monitoring to optimize CPR quality, and to detect ROSC. A comprehensive, structured, integrated, multidisciplinary system of care should be implemented in a consistent manner for the treatment of post-cardiac arrest care patients. The return to a prior quality and functional state of health is the ultimate goal of a resuscitation system of care.

  • Changes in a person's health affect one's lifestyle and work activities. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), abnormal activity is growing faster in people aged 60 or more than any other age group in almost every country. This trend steadily continues and expected to increase further in the near future. Abnormal activity put these people at high risk of expected incidents since most of these people live alone. Human abnormal activity analysis is a challenging, useful and interesting problem among the researchers and its particularly crucial task in life and health care areas. In this paper, we discuss the problem of abnormal activities of old people lives alone at home. We propose Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) based model to detect the abnormal behaviors of elderlies by utilizing six simulated action data from daily life actions.

A Robust and Device-Free Daily Activities Recognition System using Wi-Fi Signals

  • Human activity recognition is widely used in smart homes, health care and indoor monitor. Traditional approaches all need hardware installation or wearable sensors, which incurs additional costs and imposes many restrictions on usage. Therefore, this paper presents a novel device-free activities recognition system based on the advanced wireless technologies. The fine-grained information channel state information (CSI) in the wireless channel is employed as the indicator of human activities. To improve accuracy, both amplitude and phase information of CSI are extracted and shaped into feature vectors for activities recognition. In addition, we discuss the classification accuracy of different features and select the most stable features for feature matrix. Our experimental evaluation in two laboratories of different size demonstrates that the proposed scheme can achieve an average accuracy over 95% and 90% in different scenarios.

Depth Images-based Human Detection, Tracking and Activity Recognition Using Spatiotemporal Features and Modified HMM

  • Human activity recognition using depth information is an emerging and challenging technology in computer vision due to its considerable attention by many practical applications such as smart home/office system, personal health care and 3D video games. This paper presents a novel framework of 3D human body detection, tracking and recognition from depth video sequences using spatiotemporal features and modified HMM. To detect human silhouette, raw depth data is examined to extract human silhouette by considering spatial continuity and constraints of human motion information. While, frame differentiation is used to track human movements. Features extraction mechanism consists of spatial depth shape features and temporal joints features are used to improve classification performance. Both of these features are fused together to recognize different activities using the modified hidden Markov model (M-HMM). The proposed approach is evaluated on two challenging depth video datasets. Moreover, our system has significant abilities to handle subject's body parts rotation and body parts missing which provide major contributions in human activity recognition.

장기요양시설 인간중심 치매케어 온라인 교육 프로그램 개발을 위한 델파이 조사연구 (A Delphi Study for Developing a Person-centered Dementia Care Online Education Program in Long-term Care Facilities)

  • Purpose: There has been a growing recognition that person-centered care enhances the quality of life of nursing home residents with dementia. This study was conducted to develop a person-centered dementia care online education program for direct care staff in long-term care facilities. Methods: Delphi method with expert group was used to validate contents. We developed 61 draft items based on literature review. Twenty experts participated in consecutive three round surveys including 5-point Likert scale questions and open-ended questions. Based on experts' opinions, the content validity ratio for content validity and the coefficient of variation for stability were calculated. Results: Three-round Delphi surveys and additional feedback from the expert panel established a consensus of core contents: 1) dementia (7 categories), 2) person-centered care (6 categories), 3) communication (8 categories), and 4) behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (6 categories). Specific sub-categories in each category were differentiated according to the job qualifications (65 sub-categories for registered nurses, 64 sub-categories for nursing aids, and 41 sub-categories for personal care workers). Conclusion: This delphi study identified person-centered dementia education curricula, in which the person-centered approach should be a key policy priority in Korean long-term care system. Now it is urgently needed to develop education programs utilizing online platforms that enable efficient and continuous learning for long-term care staff, which can contribute to behavior changes in the person-centered dementia care approach and improvement of care quality in long-term care facilities.

평가인증 운영과정에서 국공립 어린이집 보육교사의 직무수행 시간과 심리적 어려움에 관한 연구 (A Study on Working Time and Psychological Difficulties of National and Public Daycare Center Teachers in the Operation Process of an Accreditation System)

  • 본 연구는 평가인증 운영과정에서 국공립 어린이집 보육교사의 직무수행 시간과 심리적 어려움을 드러냄으로서, 이를 해결하는 방안을 모색하는 데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 서울, 경기, 인천 지역의 291개소 국공립 어린이집 보육교사 413명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고, 보육교사 7명을 대상으로 심층면담을 실시하였다. 연구결과 평가인증 운영 과정에서 교사는 매일 11시간의 과중한 업무를 수행하고 있었고, '영유아와의 상호작용과 그 외 업무 사이', '자유로운 탐색과 안전 건강 사이', '우리 이야기와 외부 기준'사이에서 갈등하며 심리적 어려움을 겪고 있었다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 평가인증 운영과정에서 다음과 같은 교사의 인식전환이 요구됨을 알 수 있다. 첫째, 평가지표 수행보다는 질 높은 보육에 관심을 두는 인식전환이 필요하다. 둘째, 부분 최적화가 아닌 전체 최적화에 관심을 두는 인식전환이 필요하다. 이상과 같이 본 논문은 교사의 심리적 어려움을 탐색함으로서, 평가인증 운영과정에서 놓쳐서는 안 될 기본 방향을 제시했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the present conditions of the facilities in terms of their quality and quantity and to suggest a better way to improve the system. The main results of this study can be summarized as follows ; 1. A few subjects knew there were how many kind of facilities in the hospital. 2. Convenience facilities should be available to the patient and their aids whenever they want to use. 3. There were statistically significant difference between the recognition and utilization on convenience facilities of subjects. 4. Some managers of administration considered that the recognition on convenience facilities of subjects be increased.

국내 전문간호사제도의 현황과 정책과제 (Present and political tasks of Advanced Practice Nurse in Korea)

  • The purpose of this study is to grasp the present system of Advanced Practice Nurse(APN) and to suggest strategies for enhancing the recognition of APNs institutionally in Korea. We searched and reviewed literature and materials about the APN development process and present situation and related laws. We recognized that there were many kinds of problems in the APN system of Korea: a weak support from health care system, obscured classification of APN's services, confusion of qualifications, and lack of compensation from the national health insurance system. We should, therefore, identity the list of Korean APN's services and provide further studies about patient's outcome cared by APNs. Also, there is a need to create a demand for APNs to keep the quality of services guaranteed by APN. APN system must be established to progress forward in order to provide good benefits for the people.

Deep Learning-based Pet Monitoring System and Activity Recognition device

  • 본 논문에서는 활동 인식장치를 이용한 딥러닝 기반의 반려동물 모니터링 시스템을 제안한다.이 시스템은 반려동물의 활동 인식장치와 반려인의 스마트 기기, 서버로 구성된다. 아두이노 기반 활동 인식 장치로부터 가속도와 자이로 데이터를 수집하고, 이로부터 반려동물의 걸음 수를 연산하였다. 수집된 데이터는 전처리 과정을 거쳐 CNN과 LSTM을 하이브리드한 딥러닝 모델을 통해 5가지 형태(앉기, 서기, 눕기, 걷기, 뛰기)로 활동을 인식함으로써 활동량을 측정한다. 마지막으로, 반려인의 스마트 기기에 일일 및 주간 브리핑 차트 등 활동 변화에 대한 모니터링을 제공한다. 성능 평가 결과, 반려동물의 구체화된 활동 인식 및 활동량 측정이 가능함을 확인하였다. 향후 데이터 축적을 통해 반려동물의 이상행동 탐지 및 헬스 케어 서비스의 확장을 기대할 수 있다.
