A Basic Study on the Hat Production for Aged Women

  • This study aims to suggest basic data for the production of hats for aged women. The subjects were 151 females who are 60 years old or above and live in Busan. Their hat-wearing reality was inquired and their head parts were measured, which led to the following conclusion: 1. Results of Hat-Wearing Reality Inquiry 64.9% answered they are unsatisfied with the size system of the available hats at present, implying the necessity for improving the current dimension system. 92.7% responded hat dimensions need to be subdivided, while 97.4% were for the necessity of hat size system. 74.8% expressed their will to buy ordered hats because they can find the hats of right sizes and designs. 2. Results of Head-Part Measurement Experiments According to head-part measurement, head circumference A was 53.26cm, head circumference B 54.19cm, and head circumference C 57.69cm on the average. Cluster analysis revealed three types. Type 1 (24%) with small head length and circumference is the smallest head with a wide upper part. Type 2 (33%) has long head height, short bitragion arc A, and thick head breadth. Type 3 (43%), owing to big head circumference and length as well as high values in vertical items. Considering head circumference B (HCB) and bitragion arc A (BAA), a new hat size system of 3 sizes (HCB: BAA) was chosen: S (52cm: 29cm), M (53-55cm: 30cm), and L (56-57cm: 31cm).

  • As the flying height decreased, it is essential that hard disk drives perform reliable under various environmental conditions. In this paper the tribological characteristics of a head/disk interface are investigated under various temperature, relative humidity, altitude and outgas conditions. Specially, Contact-Start-Stop(CSS) tests were performed to assess the stiction, acoustic emission, slider take-off behavior, and track average amplitude(TAA). It is shown that the surface damage and head failure are accelerated by high temperature and humidity as well as low ambient pressure.

  • Magnetic heads on vcr drum are adjusted for protrusion, rotational angle, setting angle between two symmetrically positioned heads and height difference. Developed adjustment system covered assembly spec., namely ${\pm}2{\mu}m$ and ${\pm}30{\mu}m$ in rotational angle by using the image processing to determine head positions and S/W algorithm to compensate mechanical errors.

저낙차에서 와류발생부를 구비한 마이크로 소수력에 관한 실험 연구 (Experimental Study of Micro hydropower with Vortex Generation at Lower Head Water)

  • 본 논문은 자유수면을 가지는 와류유동 내 저낙차에서 마이크로 소수력에 관한 실험 연구이다. 내부 곡선 모서리가 있는 직선, 곡선, 비틀린 블레이드의 와류 높이, 터빈 회전 및 토크를 개수로 유입구의 유량 0.0069 ㎥/s 조건에서 측정하였다. 실험결과로서 최적의 와류 강도는 와류 발생부의 외부직경과 유출구 직경 비율 0.17~18.5 범위에서 발생했다. 직선 블레이드 출력과 효율은 다른 블레이드와 비교하여 높게 나타났다. 가장 높게 생성된 에너지는 12.33 W이고, 토크는 0.91 N·m이다. 유효낙차를 고려한 경우 가장 높은 효율은 29.5 %인 반면 와류 높이를 고려한 가장 높은 효율은 회전수 132 rpm에서 80.5 %이다. 직선 블레이드의 와류 유속은 개수로 유입구의 평균 유속보다 약 2.8배 더 크게 나타난다.

Simple Method of Evaluating the Range of Shoulder Motion Using Body Parts

  • Background: The purpose of this study is to assess the range of shoulder motion using an indirect evaluation method without physical examinations of patients based on questionnaires regarding several specific arm postures referenced by patient's own body parts. Methods: Nine criteria of specific shoulder motion including 4 forward flexion, 2 external rotation, and 3 internal rotation were decided as reference position which can represent a certain shoulder motion. Flexion contains postures such as lifting arm to waist-height, shoulder-height, eye-height, and raising arm above head with arm touching ears. External rotation comprises grasping ears and placing hands on back of the head. Vertebral height in internal rotation is determined by calculating the samples' motions, which are holding on to trouser belts, opposite-elbow, and scapula. These postures are included in questionnaires for patients to evaluate the validity and effectiveness of this indirect method. Results: The range of flexion was $77^{\circ}$ ($60^{\circ}$ to $100^{\circ}$), $96^{\circ}$ ($87^{\circ}$ to $115^{\circ}$), $135^{\circ}$ ($115^{\circ}$ to $150^{\circ}$), and $167^{\circ}$ ($150^{\circ}$ to $175^{\circ}$) when arms go up to waist, shoulder, eye, and high vertically. Range of external rotation was $39.6^{\circ}$ ($30^{\circ}$ to $50^{\circ}$) when grasping ears and $69.2^{\circ}$ ($60^{\circ}$ to $80^{\circ}$) with the hands on the back of the head. Range of internal rotation was L4 when placing trouser belts, T12 for holding opposite elbow, and T9 for reaching scapula. The mismatch rates of flexion, external rotation, and internal rotation were 11.6%, 9.6%, and 7.8%. Conclusions: The range of shoulder motion using this method is expected to be applied to an established shoulder scoring system which included shoulder motion evaluation item.

정모두부방사선사진 촬영시 두부의 수직회전에 따른 투사오차 (Effects of vertical head rotation on the posteroanterior cephalometric measurements)

  • 본 연구는 정모두부방사선사진 촬영시 수직적 두부회전이 방사선사진상의 계측치들에 어느 정도의 투사오차를 야기 시키는지 알아보고자 시행되었다. 임상검사를 통하여 두드러진 전후방 골격이상이나 뚜렷한 안면비 대칭을 보이지 않는 성인 25명을 대상으로 natural head position상태를 기준위치$(0^{\circ})$로 정하고 이 위치에 대해 양쪽 ear rod를 연결한 수평축을 중심으로 두부를 상, 하방으로 $5^{\circ},\;10^{\circ}$씩 회전시킨 상태에서 정모두부방사선사진을 각각 촬영하여 투사도를 작성한 다음 7개의 고경항목, 5개의 폭경항목, 6개의 각도항목을 계측하였다. 각 회전각도에서의 계측치를 비교 분석하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 고경계측항목의 투사오차가 폭경이나 각도계측항목에 비해 전반적으로 큰 양상을 나타냈다. 2. 고경계측항목 중 회전축으로부터 먼 계측점간의 거리를 나타내는 항목일수록 투사오차가 컸다. 3. 폭경 계측항목 중 비강폭경, 상악폭경, 상악 제1대구치간 폭경은 각 회전각도 간에 통계적 유의차가 없었으나 하악폭 경과 하악 제1대구치간 폭경은 통지적으로 유의차가 있었다. 4. 각도계측항목 중 menton의 편위정도를 나타내는 각도는 각 회전각도 간에 통계적 유의차가 없었으나 crista galli와 maxillare를 연결한 선이나 crista galli와 antegonion을 연결한 선과 수평기준선이 이루는 각도는 통계적으로 유의차가 있었다. 이상의 결과는 수직적 두부회전에 의해 정모두부방사선사진상에 투사오차가 발생하므로 유용한 정모두부방사선사진을 얻기 위해서는 촬영시마다 동일한 두부위치를 유지하기 위한 노력이 필요함을 시사하였다.

하방 촬영된 깊이 영상을 이용한 신장 추정 (Estimation of Human Height Using Downward Depth Images)

  • In this paper, we propose a method for estimating the human height by using downward depth images. We detect a point with the lowest depth value in an object as top of the head and estimate the height by calculating the depth difference with the floor. Since the depth of the floor varies depending on the angle of the camera, the correction formula is applied. In addition, the binarization threshold is variably applied so that height can be estimated even when several people are adjacent. Simulation results show that the proposed method has better performance than the conventional methods. The proposed method is expected to be widely used in body measurement, intelligent surveillance, and marketing.

성인의 신체조건 및 생활습관에 따른 골밀도 변화에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Change of Bone Mineral Density(BMD) by Life Habit and Physical Condition)

  • 목 적: 성인들의 생활습관인 음주, 운동, 흡연 등의 유무와 골밀도와의 관계를 분석 해보고 연령, 성별, 신장, 체중, 체질량지수 등과 골밀도와의 상관관계를 알아보고자 한다. 대상 및 방법: 2006년 2월부터 4월까지 건강검진을 받기위해 우석대학교 한방병원을 내원한 321명을 대상으로 양 에너지 X-ray 골밀도 측정기(DEXA, DPX-IQ, Lunar. co)를 이용하여 대퇴경부 및 척추의 골밀도를 측정하였다. 결 과: 대상자중 남성은 160명 여성은 161명이었고 평균연령은 $45.10{\pm}11.54$세였다. 남성에 있어서 대퇴 경부의 골밀도는 20대에서 가장 높았고 척추는 40대에서 가장 높았으며 60대에서 대퇴경부와 척추의 골밀도가 가장 낮았다, 여성에서는 40대에서 대퇴경부와 척추의 골밀도가 가장 높았고 60대에서 대퇴경부와 척추의 골밀도가 가장 낮았다. 대상자들의 신체조건에서 신장과 체중이 클수록 골밀도가 높았다. 남성은 음주 및 운동, 흡연유무에 따른 집단별 비교에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았으나 여성은 음주집단이 비 음주집단에 비해 대퇴경부 및 척추의 골밀도가 유의하게 높았다(P<0.01). 결 론: 이는 건강한 직장인들이 건강검진을 받고자 내원한 사람들이 대부분이기에 위와 같은 결과가 나온 것으로 생각되며 앞으로 모든 성인들의 연령증가에 따른 골다공증의 위험으로부터 예방하기 위하여 골밀도에 영향을 미치는 다양한 요인들을 찾아서 많은 연구를 하고자 한다.

학령전기 소아에서 추락으로 인한 경증 두부손상의 특징에 대한 후향적 관찰 연구 (The characteristics of mild head injuries in preschool-age children fall: a retrospective observational study)

  • Objective: Falling is a common cause of head injury in preschool aged children. We investigated the characteristics of mild head injuries caused by falling and the association between body weight and occurrence of traumatic brain injuries (TBI). Methods: This retrospective observational study was conducted on head-injured preschool-aged children that visited the emergency department from January 2012 to December 2015. Characteristics such as age, sex, weight, free fall height, floor type, and presence of TBI, as defined as cerebral hemorrhage or skull fracture, were investigated. We calculated body weight percentiles by calibrating age and weight and categorized them into four quartile ranges. We grouped all included cases into two groups according to the presence of TBI. The characteristics of the two groups were compared by using chi-square test, and the association with TBI was investigated by using binomial logistic regression. Results: A total of 701 children were included, and TBI was observed in 95 children. Children with TBI were younger. The proportion of children with TBI was higher in the third and fourth quartiles of the body weight group as well as according to soft floor and fall from high height (${\geq}1m$). The odds of soft floor being associated with TBI was higher than the odds for hard floor (odds ratio, 2.734; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.597-4.680). The odds of high height (${\geq}1m$) being associated with TBI was higher than that for low height (odds ratio, 2.306; 95% CI, 1.155-4.601), and the odds ratio for the weight percentile group was 1.228 (95% CI, 1.005-1.499). Conclusion: Prevalence of TBI after falling in preschool-aged children might be associated with high fall-height and body weight quartiles.

두개안면골 형태에 따른 두부위치에 관한 두부방사선 계측학적 연구 (A CEPHALOMETRIC STUDY OF THE NATURAL HEAD POSITION ACCORDING TO CRANIOFACIAL MORPHOLOGY)

  • Diagnosis and treatment plans of patients are depended on cephalogram in most case. However, conventional cephalogram may change diagnosis because it ignores a conception of natural head position. The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference of head positions between conventional X-ray taking and x-ray taking in natural head position, and correlation between above results and craniofacial morphology, 60 male students in dental college, Yon sei Univ. were selected, and every cephalogram is studied by comparison of the change of head position. The results are as follows. 1. When taking X-ray by using conventional method, external auditary meatus FH was more tilted than ear rod FM by $2.1^{\circ}{\pm}1.8$ in forward and downward direction. 2. As facial form becomes concave, natural head position and head position, appeared in X-ray taking by using conventional method, become more similiar. 3. Change in head position had showed high correlations with facial form (N-A-Pog angle), and there was high significance to concave group when compared with average group, but significance to convex group was not found. 4. Multiple regression equation concerning change of head position was solved. ${\Delta}FH=24.5\;+\;0.31$ NAPog + 0.43 Prominence of Chin + 0.13 Facial length -0.32 Anterior facial height.
