This study was purpose to quantitative assessment of the resolution characteristics by using American college of radiology(ACR) phantom for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The MRI equipment was used (Achiva 3.0T MRI, Philips system, Netherlands) and the head/neck matrix shim SENSE head coil were 32 channels(elements) receive MR coil. And the MRI equipment was used (Discovery MR 750, 3.0T MRI, GE medical system, America) and the head/neck matrix shim MC 3003G-32R 32-CH head coil were receive MR coil. As for the modulation transfer function(MTF) comparison result by using ACR magnetic resonance imaging phantom, the MTF value of the ACR standard T2 image in GE equipment is 0.199 when the frequency is 1.0 mm-1 and the MTF value of the hospital T2 image in Philips equipment is 0.528. It was used efficiently by using a general sequence more than the standard sequence method using the ACR phantom. In addition it is significant that the quantitative quality assurance evaluation method for resolution characteristics was applied mutatis mutandis, and the result values of the physical image characteristics of the 3.0T MRI device were presented.
In this paper, the numerical analysis of the model without air-guide was carried out in wind power generator. From numerical results, the temperature rise was not satisfied for the class F insulation and the non-uniformity of temperature distribution was a wide difference in heating elements. To improve these problems, the air-guide was installed in front of the coil head of non-drive end(NDE). The short distance between coil head and air-guide was more effective than long distance in cooling performance. Compared to that of the preliminary design, it was found that the cooling performance of the modification design was improved about 12%.
In order to verify exact dose distributions in the state-of-the-art radiation techniques, a newly designed three-dimensional dosimeter and technique has been took strongly into consideration. The main purpose of our study is to verify the optimized parameters of polymer gel as a real volumetric dosimeter in terms of the various study of MRI. We prepared a gel dosimeter by combing 8% of gelatin, 8% of MAA, and 10 mM of THPC. We used a Co-60 gamma-ray teletherapy unit and delivered doses of 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 14 Gy to each polymer gel with a solid phantom. We used a fast spin-echo pulse to acquire the characterized T2 time of MRI. The signal noise ratio (SNR) of the head & neck coil was a relatively lower sensitivity than the body coil; therefore the dose uncertainty of head & neck coil would be lower than body coil's. But the dose uncertainty and resolution of the head & neck coil were superior to the body coil in this study. The TR time between 1,500 ms and 2,000 ms showed no significant difference in the dose resolution, but TR of 1,500 ms showed less dose uncertainty. For the slice thickness of 2.5 mm, less dose uncertainty of TE times was at 4 Gy, as well, it was the lowest result over 4 Gy at TE of 12 ms. The dose uncertainty was not critical up to 6 Gy, but the best dose resolution was obtained at 20 ms up to 8 Gy. The dose resolution shows the lowest value was over 20 ms and was an excellent result in the number of excitation (NEX) of three. The NEX of two was the highest dose resolution. We concluded that the better result of slice thickness versus NEX was related to the NEX increment and thin slice thickness.
This paper presents a macro/micro flip chip mounting head system for precise force control. In the proposed macro/ micro system, the macro actuator is conventional do servomotor with a ball screw mechanism and the micro actuator is a voice coil motor(VCM) that consists of four NdFeB magnets and a winded moving coil. For force control, a sensitive strain-gauge force sensor is mounted in the micro actuator. Through harmonic motion between macro and micro actuator, we would like to get precise contact force control when small sized flip chip is mounted on flexible substrate in high speed. In order to show the effectiveness of the proposed macro/micro flip chip mounting head system, we com...

At Wire Rod Mill Plant, wire is made of the billet produced at continuous casting machine, or rolled bloom produced at billeting mill, and the product can be classified of wire of 5.5${\Phi}$ and bar in coil of 14∼42${\Phi}$ in diameter(bar in coil will be referred to as coil as below). At present, wire is produced at POSCO No.1, 2, 3 WRM, coil at garret line of No. 2 WRM. Head and tail of coil are properly cut and treated to scrap to fulfill the customer's satisfaction. This above cutting is done off line, and small size coil can be cut manually with clipper, large size coil with hydraulic cutter. Nowadays, it is being investigated to cut automatically in line with trimming shear after passing mill stand. At the moment, Because the coil produced at the garret line of No.2 WRM is hot 400∼600$^{\circ}C$ and trimming is done manually with cutter, there are always interference from manual operation or safety problem of bad working condition. Not only because of the diversity of the coil size 14∼42${\Phi}$ in diameter, but because of the rolling speed 2.5∼22m/sec, it is required to be equipped with several trimming shear. But this can be accomplished with only one shear installed proper place at this paper.
Traumatic pseudoaneurysm of the intracavernous internal carotid artery(ICA) is extremely rare, but it is life threatening condition because of massive recurrent epistaxis. Unfortunately, the prompt diagnosis and treatment of this disease are frequently delayed due to its rarity and variable latent period, so this disease is regarded as a challenge to clinicians. Optimal therapy for this diseases demands rapid suspicion for it and is essential in order to give the best functional outcome with minimizing its morbidity and mortality. The authors present a case of male patient with traumatic pseudoaneurysm of intracavernous ICA accompanying severe epistaxis. This patient was a 37-year-old male with unilateral blindness and recurrent massive epistaxis after suffering trauma to head. Computed tomography, MRI and carotid artery angiogram showed pseudoaneurysm of intracavernous ICA with sphenoid bone fracture. The patient was effectively managed with occlusion of the pseudoaneurysmal circulation by endovascular interventional embolization technique utilizing mechanically detachable tungsten coils.
Post-tensioning (PT) tendons are commonly used for the assembly of modularized concrete members, and tension is applied to the tendons during construction to facilitate the integrated behavior of the members. However, the tension in a PT tendon decreases over time due to steel corrosion and concrete creep, and consequently, the stress on the anchor head that secures the PT tendon also diminishes. This study proposes an automatic detection system to identify tension reduction in a PT tendon using pulsed-eddy-current (PEC) measurement. An eddy-current sensor is installed on the surface of the steel anchor head. The sensor creates a pulsed excitation to the driving coil and measures the resulting PEC response using the pick-up coil. The basic premise is that the tension reduction of a PT tendon results in stress reduction on the anchor head surface and a change in the PEC intensity measured by the pick-up coil. Thus, PEC measurement is used to detect the reduction of the anchor head stress and consequently the reduction of the PT tendon force below a certain threshold value. The advantages of the proposed PEC-based tension-reduction-detection (PTRD) system are (1) a low-cost (< $ 30), low-power (< 2 Watts) sensor, (2) a short inspection time (< 10 seconds), (3) high reliability and (4) the potential for embedded sensing. A 3.3 m long full-scale monostrand PT tendon was used to evaluate the performance of the proposed PTRD system. The PT tendon was tensioned to 180 kN using a custom universal tensile machine, and the tension was decreased to 0 kN at 20 kN intervals. At each tension, the PEC responses were measured, and tension reduction was successfully detected.

Obtaining external forced convection heat transfer from bubble boiling and validating it with experimental results using cryogenic liquids are suggested to derive total heat transfer coefficient with pool boiling condition in the case of coil type heat exchanger with a bundle of tubes and to overcome the limitation of using the empirical correlation. Experiment is conducted with pool boiling heat transfer of saturate liquid nitrogen with helical coil type heat exchanger using liquid oxygen as hot stream fluid. Experimentally measured heat transfer coefficient is well-agreed with the estimated curve considering nucleate boiling and forced convection induced by bubble rise.
In radiology department, where patients with a variety of diseases receive their tests, there is a large possibility of cross contamination of nosocomial infection. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) tests take particularly more time than other tests do, which increases the possibility of being exposed to cross contamination. Therefore, this research examines the status of MRI equipment sterilization and investigates the bacterial distribution on head coils, which have the most frequent contact with patients, patient fixation blocks, and bores, which are confined spaces. The status of MRI equipment disinfection was examined by a survey targeting 150 employees, and the distribution of bacteria was measured in ten medical facilities. The result of bacterial distribution tests on MRI equipment showed various bacteria, including Staphylococcus, Acinetobacter, Sphingomona, Pantoea agglomeranss, Micrococcus, Bacillus, Saprophyticus, Brevundimona, and Myroidesspecies. The result of examining the stat us of MRI room disinfection showed that the disinfections of the head coil, block, and bore were implemented well, and the largest proportion was carried out once a day in the morning. The time and implementation of disinfection by the disinfection manager showed that they were implemented well when the manager was the MRI room examiner. The disinfection after examining a patient using an appropriate disinfectant is mandatory to prevent cross contamination.
The conductive link is used as a cooling medium between a cryocooler and magnet in a cryogen-free superconducting magnet system. The low temperature superconducting (LTS) magnet has one solenoidal configuration with a metal former which has a 52 mm room temperature bore. The superconducting coil is installed in the cryostat maintaining high vacuum and cooled by a two-stage cryocooler. In order to maintain the operating temperature of magnet at the designed level, the cold head temperature of the cryocooler must be lower so that heat can be removed from the superconducting coil. Also, temperature difference is occurred between the magnet and cryocooler and its magnitude is dependent upon the contact resistance at the interfacial surface between metals in the conductive link. In the paper, the performance of the LTS magnet is investigated with respect to the conductive link between the magnet former and the cold head of the cryocooler. The effects of the contact pressure and interfacial materials on the temperature distribution along the conductive link are also presented.
