  • Materials used for education are materials such as SM20C, Al6061, and acrylic. SM20C materials are carbon steel and are often used in certification tests and functional competitions, but are also widely used in industrial sites. The Al6061 material is said to be a material that has lower hardness and stronger flexibility than carbon steel, so it is a material that generates a lot of compositional selection of tools. If students are taught practical training using acrylic materials, vibration occurs due to excessive cutting in some parts and damage to the tool occurs. In this process, we examine to what extent the impact on the 2NC head, which is a five-axis equipment, can affect precision control. The weakest part of the five-axis equipment can be said to be the weakest part of the head that controls the AC axis. When the accuracy and cumulative tolerance of this part occur, the accuracy of all products decreases. Therefore, the core part of the 2NC head, the spindle housing, was carried out using an Al7075 T6 (Alcoa, USA) material. In the process of vibration and cutting applied to this material, the analysis was conducted to find out the value applied to the finite element analysis under extreme conditions. It is hoped that this analysis data will help students see and understand the structure of 5-axis machining rather than 5-axis cutting.

  • The Tonpilz transducer is one of the essential elements in active sonar application. The characteristics of transducer depend on the piezoelectric ceramics and mechanical elements such as head mass, tail mass, pre-stress rod and so on. One of the important characteristics is electric and mechanical stability of transducer for long term high power transmitting operation. This parer presents the results about long term endurance tests of the underwater acoustic transducer.

  • Pump-storage power plants, which pumps water from the lower reservoir to the upper reservoir using the extra electronic power at night and generates the electronic power in the daytime, are more increasing. Currently it has a tendency to be high-head large-capacity machines. So in the processing of design, we need to know the vibration characteristics of pump-turbine shaft system sufficiently. In this paper, we developed the computer programs for analyzing pump-turbine shaft system considering magnetic force of generator, hydraulic force at runner, dynamic characteristics of guide bearings and the effect of add mass of water. And the superiority of this program was verified by applying it to the real model and calculating high quality critical speed, natural mode and unbalance response.

  • The purpose of this work is to analyze the effect of structure parameter disturbance on the dynamic characteristics of a hydropower station powerhouse. A vibration model with a head-cover system is established, and then the general disturbance problem analysis methods are discussed. Two new formulae based on two types of disturbances are developed from existing methods. The correctness and feasibility of these two formulae are validated by analyzing the hydropower station powerhouse vibration model. The appropriate calculation method for disturbance of the hydropower station powerhouse vibration dynamic characteristics is derived.

  • In this study, the vibration characteristics were theoretically analyzed by modeling a free isotropic rotating disk with an outer periphery with a fixed inner periphery, paying attention to disks used as storage devices for information devices, especially magnetic disks, magneto-optical disks, and compact disks in which the head and disk are non-contact. Iluminate with Composite materials represented by fiber-reinforced plastics (FRP) have high specific strength (strength/density) and specific stiffness (narrowness/density). It is used in the elements, and its use is rapidly expanding. Under this circumstance, the disk currently manufactured using an isotropic material made of various plastic materials such as aluminum or polycarbonate as a base material is an extremely anisotropic material made of a composite material, and the circumferential stiffness of the disk is made of reinforcing fibers in the circumferential direction. It is modeled as an anisotropic rotating disk with increased, and its influence on the vibration characteristics is revealed.

  • Because the human voice is produced through vibration of the vocal cords during the exhalation of airflow, it is important to observe the vibration pattern of the vocal cords in patients complaining of voice changes. However, it is not easy to observe the actual vibration pattern of the vocal cord because it vibrates so fast that it cannot be observed by the naked eye and it is located deep in the throat. Recently, with advances in instruments, including laryngoscopes and video camera systems, the vibration pattern of the vocal cords can now be observed. However, considering that present video camera systems can detect 30-60 images per second and the vocal cord vibrates at 100-200 and 200-300 times per second in men and women, respectively, it is not possible to record the whole mucosal wave of the vocal cord in real time. To overcome this limitation, a stroboscope, which converts fast movements of the vocal cord into slower images, has been developed. Since then, several instruments were developed to examine vocal vibration pattern. However, each instruments have advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, we should know about these things to apply them in patients with voice problem.

  • In the optical drive system, adopting the optical flying-type head (OFH) flying on a removable plastic disk, the flying stability of the small OFH should be carefully considered to ensure the reliability for first surface recording. Additional micro actuators for focus servo are discussed for better interface of optical flying head on thin cover layered plastic disk to eliminate focus error due to the non-uniformity of cover layer thickness and the tolerance of lens assembly. This study gives two simulation results on the flying stability of the OFH. One is the dependence of the flying height and pitch angle variations on the wavelength and amplitude of disk waviness. The other is the flying stability of the slider and suspension system during the dynamic load/unload (U/UL) process.

Simultaneously Presented Two Histopathologically Different Cysts in Unilateral Vocal Fold : A Case Report (일측 성대에 동시 발생한 다른 두 종류의 성대 낭종 1례)

  • A 66-year-old woman described a 6-month history of hoarseness after upper respiratory infection. She was a house wife and referred from an outside clinic under a diagnosis of vocal fold nodules. Strobovideolaryngoscopy revealed bilateral vocal fold lesions, and decreased mucosal wave of both vocal folds. She was brought to the operating room for microsuspension laryngoscopy. Under general anesthesia, dual intracordal cysts on left vocal fold were completely resected with microflap technique. The lesion on the right vocal fold turned out to be a reactive fibrous mass, which was also resected. Dual intracordal cysts were confirmed histopathologically. The one was an epidermoid cyst lined with squamous epithelium, and the other was a mucus retention cyst lined with cuboidal epithelium. Postoperative voice was acceptable by the patient and the mucosal vibration has much improved after the surgery.
