Energy harvesting devices have been proposed for sensor networking applications where batteries cannot be replaced, and cooperative communication schemes have been used to increase energy efficiency for wireless systems. Here, we develop transmission scheduling schemes for multi-terminal cooperative energy harvesting networks that maximize the packet delivery ratio, i.e., the probability that an event is reported successfully. We see that the proposed scheme provides virtually the same performance as the state-of-the-art threshold-based scheme, but does not require auxiliary parameter optimization. The proposed scheme also permits extensions to multiple cooperating nodes and sources, and it can be modified to accommodate fairness constraints.
This paper considers a two-user Gaussian interference channel with energy harvesting transmitters. Different than conventional battery powered wireless nodes, energy harvesting transmitters have to adapt transmission to availability of energy at a particular instant. In this setting, the optimal power allocation problem to maximize the sum throughput with a given deadline is formulated. The convergence of the proposed iterative coordinate descent method for the problem is proved and the short-term throughput maximizing offline power allocation policy is found. Examples for interference regions with known sum capacities are given with directional water-filling interpretations. Next, stochastic data arrivals are addressed. Finally, online and/or distributed near-optimal policies are proposed. Performance of the proposed algorithms are demonstrated through simulations.

A smart sensor is the key element to implement IoT (Internet of Things) service, as a terminal equipment. This paper investigated the design method of a power supply using energy harvesting technique for a smart sensor. the performance of a power supply using a solar cell and a piezoelectric transducer as a energy harvesting device was verified and the method to optimize a power supply was analyzed depending on the operating condition of a smart sensor. Also the method to increase a battery life cycle as a auxiliary power supply was proposed.
This paper demonstrates improved throughput and energy efficiency of wireless communications by exploiting nonorthogonal multiple access (NOMA), multiple input-multiple output (MIMO), and radio frequency energy harvesting (EH) technologies. To assess the performance of NOMA MIMO communications with EH (MMe), we consider the nonlinear characteristics of EH devices and propose explicit expressions for throughput and outage probability. Based on our results, the system performance is significantly mitigated by EH nonlinearity and is considerably improved by increasing the number of antennas. Additionally, by appropriately adjusting the system parameters, our NOMA MMe innovation can avert complete outages while optimizing system performance. Moreover, the results demonstrate the superiority of the NOMA MMe over its orthogonal multiple access MMe counterparts.
To evaluate performance of the experimental pick-up type pulse crop harvester for harvesting sprout bean, its pick-up and discharging grain loss ratios, grain quality such as whole grain ratio, damaged grain ratio, unthreshed grain, and foreign material ratio in grain tank, germination rate of threshed grain, and theoretical field capacity of the harvester were analyzed according to engine speeds of 2000, 2400 and 2800 rpm and harvesting speeds of 0.6, 1.0 and 1.4 m/s. It is considered that the harvester showed optimum performance at the engine speed of 2800 rpm and the harvesting speed of 1.0 m/s, and then average pick-up grain loss ratio of 2.7%, discharging grain loss ratio of 0.5%, whole grain ratio of 99.3%, damaged grain ratio of 0.2%, unthreshed grain ratio of 0.0%, foreign material ratio of 0.2%, and germination rate at 8 days after seeding of 72.8% were shown. It is considered that the harvester has lower grain loss and higher grain quality than the imported bean combines. And also as it could harvest 3 rows of cut and dried sprout bean crop width of which was about 2 m, its effective field capacity was estimated for about 50 a/h.

Garlic is classified as one of the three essential seasoning vegetables in Korea. In 2023, it was reported that the area under garlic cultivation was 24,700 ha, and the production stood at 318,220 tons. Garlic harvesting mechanization currently stands at 43.8%, and garlic is still collected manually after digging out using diggers, so the process is labor intensive. To reduce garlic production costs and enhance competitiveness, it is necessary to develop a high-performance gathering type harvester in place of the digging type harvester. Therefore, in this study, a gathering-type garlic harvester that can dig and collect simultaneously was designed and manufactured, and the harvest performance by factor was analyzed through a harvest performance test. As a result of the performance test, it was analyzed to perform optimally at a driving speed of 0.11m/s and a transfer speed of 85rpm. Work performance was calculated using the results obtained from the factor performance test.

In this paper, we propose a RF energy harvesting based routing protocol in mobile ad-hoc wireless sensor networks. The main features and contributions of the proposed routing protocol are as follows. First, establishment of routing route based on both remaining energy of mobile sensor nodes and RF energy harvesting. Second, establishment of routing route by considering availability and stability of route based on energy of mobile sensor nodes to increase lifetime of networks and route. The performance evaluation of the proposed routing protocol using OPNET shows that the routing method considering both route availability and route stability based on RF energy harvesting can increase efficiently route lifetime.
Electricity generation through fossil fuels has caused environmental pollution. To solve this problem, research on new renewable energy (solar, wind, geothermal heat, etc.) to replace fossil fuels is in progress. These devices are able to consistently generate power. However, they have many drawbacks, such as high installation costs and limitations in possible set-up environments. Thus, piezoelectric harvesting technology, which is able to overcome the limitations of existing energy technologies, is actively being studied. Piezoelectric harvesting technology uses the piezoelectric effect which occurs in crystals that generate voltage when stress is applied. Therefore, it has advantages such as a wider installation base and lower technological cost. In this study, a piezoelectric energy harvesting device based on constant wave motion was investigated. This device can regenerate electricity in a constant turbulent flow in the middle of the sea. The components of the device are circuitry, a steel bar, an bimorph piezoelectric element and buoyancy elements. In addition, a multiphysical analysis coupled with the structure and piezoelectric elements was conducted to estimate the performance of the device. With this piezoelectric energy harvesting device, the displacement and electric power were analyzed.

In North-East asian countries, laver cultivation has been an important marine industry in coastal areas as well as fishery because laver (Porphyra) is nutrient-rich food and has been used in many Asian cuisines. Laver is characterized by high concentrations of fiber and minerals, a low fat content, and, in some cases, relatively high protein levels. In this paper we inplimented design of fully automatic laver harvesting, nowdays most peoples are used to collect a laver harvesting by human, it is very defficult working, due to wind, waves, and the weather conditions which is hard to stand on the ship and holding the seaweed nets it can be injurced human, this is the reason to we are developed automatic harvesting method, in this project we proposed automatic harvesting collect method which is operated without human. Mainly we design and developed automated ship, This ship is devided in to three parts frist part is supporting roller, second part is drum screener, thried part is lifting mechanism. Thise are operated with hydro pnumatic equimpment, this divice are control with micro controller. The system prototype has implemented and satisfied by the performance to realize the further level.
The interdisciplinary research area of small scale energy harvesting has attracted tremendous interests in the past decades, with a goal of ultimately realizing self-powered electronic systems. Among the various available ambient energy sources which can be converted into electricity, wind energy is a most promising and ubiquitous source in both outdoor and indoor environments. Significant research outcomes have been produced on small scale wind energy harvesting in the literature, mostly based on piezoelectric conversion. Especially, modeling methods of wind energy harvesting techniques plays a greatly important role in accurate performance evaluations as well as efficient parameter optimizations. The purpose of this paper is to present a guideline on the modeling methods of small-scale wind energy harvesters. The mechanisms and characteristics of different types of aeroelastic instabilities are presented first, including the vortex-induced vibration, galloping, flutter, wake galloping and turbulence-induced vibration. Next, the modeling methods are reviewed in detail, which are classified into three categories: the mathematical modeling method, the equivalent circuit modeling method, and the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method. This paper aims to provide useful guidance to researchers from various disciplines when they want to develop and model a multi-way coupled wind piezoelectric energy harvester.
