  • As global warming proceeds, South Eastern Asia is undergoing drought, and the harshness of drought in the middle area of Korea is increasing. Especially, there has been the worst spring drought in 2001 since the first meteorological observation, and the damages caused by that drought are being ana lysed in various ways. In this study, spectral indices derived from satellites are used to examine 2001 spring drought, and the application of MODIS Data products as the quantitative tool to analyse drought in the future is examined.

  • 삶의 질적 향상에 대한 소비자의 욕구가 증대되고 환경문제에 대한 관심이 실생활과 밀접한 관계가 있는 자동차에 미치게 되면서, 배기가스 규제 강화와 함께 소음에 대한 소비자의 요구 수준이 점점 높아지고 있다. 자동차의 소음은 일반적으로 주행시 외부로 방사되는 주행소음(pass-by noise)과 승차감에 영향을 미치는 실내소음으로 구분할 수 있는데, 주행시 외부소음은 국내 2002년 법규와 유럽의 법규 등에서 그 규제가 점점 강화되고 있고, 실내소음은 자동차의 상품성을 좌우하는 요소로서 그 중요성이 점점 커지고 있다 각 자동차 생산업체들은 NVH (noise, vibration and harshness) 개선에 많은 관심을 두고 있으며, 특히 주행소음 및 실내소음 전반에 있어 발생요인으로 큰 비중을 차지하고 있는 파워트레인(엔진 및 트랜스미션)에 대한 NVH 개선에 많은 투자를 하고 있다. 최근 개발되고 있는 차세대 자동차 엔진들을 보아도 EU의 2005년 EURO-IV배기가스 규제 및 북미의 SULEV 규제를 만족함과 동시에, 연비 향상과 NVH 향상을 개발 목표로 하고 있음을 알 수 있다.(중략)

  • It is getting more important that energy efficiency and manufacturing cost of the electric motor in appliance. The SRM has been alternative choice. But acoustic noise and harshness in this motor was widely known. So this paper had been studied on the noise reduction of a SRM in air conditioner. This works include some parameters regarding to blown noise sources like a reluctance torque ripple, air gap eccentricity, Especially, it was focused on dynamic characteristics of the system based on mechanical viewpoint. It came to successful results. Besides, this gave us a validity of phase excitation in experimental measurements.

  • Special quality of automobile CMC(clutch master cylinder) and analyzed aluminum, plastic material comparison. Efficiency of plastic master cylinder can modularize higher, light weight anger of parts, several piece parts by single parts, prove NVH(Noise, Vibration, Harshness) than aluminum master cylinder as analysis result. Also, structure is easy simplicity, exchange, maintenance costs can be reduced and decrease environmental pollution because recycling is superior.

  • The constant velocity joint(CVJ) used for transmitting torque to the front wheels is an important part in automotive drive system. There are several types of constant velocity joints. Typically, they are classified by fixed and plunging constant velocity joints. The axial force generated in plunging constant velocity joints influences significantly the noise, vibration and harshness. For heaps of time, many constant velocity joint markers have been studying and developing a valid method to reduce the axial force and extensive tests have been carried out on rigs. This paper presents the analysis method to predict the axial force of a double offset constant velocity joint(DOJ), a kind of plunging constant velocity joint, and the influence of ball-cage dimension tolerance on the axial force.

  • As the technique of automobile industry is being advanced, the advancement of vehicle ride is being required. In order to achieve this purpose, the study on the vibration which are produced by moving vehicle is carried out actively. In this study, the tire vibration characteristics for passing over a cleat are analyzed. The model is verified against simulations and experiments. The tire is modeled with 7-DOFs (degree of freedom), and the effects of changing tire design parameters are considered. According to the results of analysis, the design parameters that reduce the tire and wheel vibration energy are conducted.

  • This Paper deals with the weight-lowering and the traits of NVH(Noise, Vibration and Harshness) by the development of tubular shaft replacing the existing solid Drive Shaft for the lighter and less-noisy automobiles. By the review of Swaging Process this study reveals the various forming traits of Swaging, one of the forming methods for tubular shafts. Furthermore, it showed the possibility of Drive Shaft manufacturing through designing & manufacturing of Swaging machine for tubular shaft, and the production ar analysis of the tubular shaft with the relevant process and tools. This study also shows that the forming by swaging not only makes the mass production of tubular Drive Shaft possible but also may be widely applied to other products with many advantages in review of dimensional precision, thickness change, hardness increase and surface roughness of the swaged products.

  • In recent years there has been an increasing emphasis on shortening design cycles for bringing products to market. This requires the development of computer aided engineering tools which allow analysts to quickly evaluate the effect of design changes on noise, vibration, and harshness. Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) modeling is a valuable tool for predicting noise and vibration as SEA models are inherently simpler and more robust than deterministic models. SEA modeling can be combined with design sensitivity analysis(DSA) to identify design changes which give the largest performance benefit. This paper describes SEA modeling of an equipment cab. SEA predictions are compared to test data, showing good agreement. The use of design sensitivity analysis in improving cab design is then demonstrated.

  • According to the developments of automobile industry, the technology to enhance noise, vibration and harshness(NVH) performance has been studying in a point of view of ride comfort and quietness. Especially the use of computer aided engineering(CAE) simulation tools such as finite element(FE) analysis allows engineers to efficiently evaluate NVH performance. This paper presents the method to bulid FE models for full vehicle including engine, transmission. suspension and steering system, also to evaluate vibration performance of full vehicle. The full vehicle model, which is discussed, is correlated with the result of the frequency response measurement in the case of the car shake performance for high speed driving.
