  • The output voltage of an off-grid inverter is influenced by load current, and the voltage harmonics especially the 5th and 7th are increased with nonlinear loads. In this paper, to attenuate the output voltage harmonics of off-grid inverters with nonlinear loads nearby, a load current feedforward is proposed. It is introduced to a voltage control loop based on the Positive and Negative Sequence Harmonic Regulator (PNSHR) compensation to modify the output impedance at selective frequencies. The parameters of the PNSHR are revised with the output impedance of the off-grid inverter, which minimizes the output impedance of the off-grid inverter. Experimental results verify the proposed method, showing that the output voltage harmonics caused by nonlinear loads can be effectively suppressed.

  • In practical engineering such as aerial refueling pipes, the boundary of the fluid-conveying pipe is difficult to be completely immovable. Pipes under movable and immovable boundaries are controlled by different dominant nonlinear factors, where the boundary mobility will affect the nonlinear dynamic characteristics, which should be focused on for adopting different strategies for vibration suppression and control. The nonlinear dynamic instability characteristics of functionally graded fluid-conveying pipes lying on a viscoelastic foundation under movable and immovable boundary conditions are systematically studied for the first time. Nonlinear factors involving nonlinear inertia and nonlinear curvature for pipes with a movable boundary as well as tensile hardening and nonlinear curvature for pipes with an immovable boundary are comprehensively considered during the derivation of the governing equations of the principal parametric resonance. The stability boundary and amplitude-frequency bifurcation diagrams are obtained by employing the two-step perturbation- incremental harmonic balance method (TSP-IHBM). Results show that the movability of the boundary of the pipe has a great influence on the vibration amplitude, bifurcation topology, and the physical meanings of the stability boundary due to different dominant nonlinear factors. This research has guidance significance for nonlinear dynamic design of fluid-conveying pipe with avoiding in the instability regions.

  • This paper propose the new approach of the quantity effect by high efficiency inductor characteristic to the harmonic suppression of the lowpass filter. We applied the reliable de-embedding process in order to extract the precise elements values. Moreover, for the effective its application and comparison, the variable stepped impedance low pass filters with a same specification are designed. The proposed procedure is expected to handle the overall filter performance and to construct a synthesized equivalent circuit from its determined specification.

  • A novel microstrip low-pass filter is presented to achieve an ultra-wide stopband with 11 harmonic suppression and very sharp skirt characteristics. The filter is composed of a modified U-shaped resonator (which creates two fully adjustable transmission zeroes), a T-shaped resonator (which determines a cut-off frequency), and four radial stubs (which provide a wider stopband). The operating mechanism of the filter is investigated based on a proposed equivalent-circuit model, and the role of each section of the proposed filter in creating null points is theoretically discussed in detail. The presented filter with 3 dB cut-off frequency ($f_c=2.35GHz$) has been fabricated and measured. Results show that a relative stopband bandwidth of 164% (referred to as a 22 dB suppression) is obtained while achieving a high figure-of-merit of 15,221.

  • A W-band frequency octupler is implemented on 100-nm GaAs pHEMT process. The fabricated octupler can be used as a local oscillator or a signal source of W-band transceivers. Three common-source doublers are connected in cascade to multiply an input signal of 10.75 GHz to 83 GHz. A common-source amplifier is followed for each doubler to improve the conversion gain and suppress the unwanted harmonics. The fabricated octupler showes high output of more than 6 dBm in the 80 - 84 GHz band and achieved excellent spurious suppression performance over 20 dBc.

  • In this paper, to the aim of wideband SSN(Simultaneous Switching Noise) suppression characteristic, investigation of spiral resonator are used in conjunction with bead which is commonly used for noise suppression method. Bead works effectively to suppress the power noise up to the first harmonic of fundamental frequency, 0.8 GHz, and spiral resonator suppress noise well in the frequency range of SRF(Self Resonance Frequency) which is inversely proportional to the length of spiral. Thus, when bead used in conjunction with a spiral the noise suppression characteristic is determined by the one of higher impedance element of the two in the frequency range and achieves more broadband filtering characteristic. The case for using 22 nH bead turns out 4.8, 2.0, 0, and, 0.6 dB, and the case for using 22 nH bead in conjunction with 3-turns spiral achieves more wideband characteristic of 9.5, 8.3, 6.1, and 9.9 dB power noise suppression performances at the first, second, third, and fourth harmonics, respectively. The peak-to-peak voltage levels decrease from 76 mV to 56 mV using 22 nH bead, and the level decrease rapidly to 34 mV when using in conjunction with bead and 3-turn spiral. Thus more wideband SSN suppression characteristic can be achieved using bead with spiral.

  • In this paper, a high efficiency 2.45 GHz rectenna with a microstrip patch antenna and a dual-mode band-pass filter in which the 2nd and 3rd harmonics are suppressed, is presented. From the experimental results, the 2.45GHz rectenna using 3rd harmonic suppressed dual-mode BPF shows the conversion efficiency of 41.6% with incident power density of 0.3 mW/cm2 and the received power of 1.66 mW. This result shows high conversion efficiency because the received power of this rectenna is lower than other rectennas to be compared with. This rectenna can be applied to the WPT (Wireless Power Transmission) field for energy harvesting. Also, it is expected to be used to provide the stand-by power for the low power devices for USN, and wireless power transfer in sensor application of MEMS devices.

  • This paper presents a composite control strategy for the active suppression of vibration due to the unknown disturbances, such as external excitation, harmonic effects and control spillover, as well as high-frequency accelerometer measurement noise in the all-clamped stiffened plate. The proposed composite control action based on the modal approach, consists of two contributions including feedback part and feedforward part. The feedback part is the well-known PID controller, which is widely used to increase the structure damping and improve its dynamic performance close to the resonance frequencies. In order to get better performance for vibration suppression, the weight matrixes is optimized by chaos sequence. Then an improved disturbance observer (IDOB) as the feedforward compensation part is developed to enhance the vibration suppression performance of PID under various disturbances and uncertainties. The proposed IDOB can simultaneously estimate the various disturbances dynamically as well as measurement noise acting on the system and suppress them by feedforward compensation design. A rigorous analysis is also given to show why the IDOB can effectively suppress the unknown disturbances and measurement noise. In order to verify the proposed composite control algorithm (IDOB-PID), the dSPACE real-time simulation platform is used and an experimental platform for the all-clamped stiffened plate active vibration control system is set up. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness, practicality and strong anti-disturbances ability of the proposed control strategy.

  • In this paper, the flexible narrow bandpass filters (BPFs) with ${\lambda}$g/4 short and ${\lambda}$g/2 open stubs by microstrip line on duroid substrate are suggested. These BPFs with narrow bandwidth show flexible bandwidth with variation of the position of the stubs using the Qe (external quality factor) without changing the impedance value at microwave range. On the other hand, by replacing the series quarter-wavelength connecting lines with the equivalent T-shaped line of bandstop filter(BSF), the compact stub bandpass filter with harmonics suppression can be realized. The BPF with ${\lambda}$g/4 short stubs shows the insertion loss of 2.1 dB and the return loss of 18 dB and BPF with ${\lambda}$g/2 open stubs shows the insertion loss of 1.2 dB and the return loss of 21.9 dB at the center frequency of 5.8 GHz and the bandwidth of 10 %.

  • In this paper, a design of a GaN HEMT power amplifier using output matching circuit with arbitrary harmonic impedances is presented. The adopted GaN HEMT device, TGF2023-02 of TriQuint Semiconductor, was packaged in commercial package. The optimal impedances of the GaN HEMT package are extracted from load-pull simulation at package input and output reference planes. The targets of load-pull simulation are the highest output power at fundamental frequency and the highest efficiency at $2^{nd}$ and $3^{rd}$ harmonic frequencies. Because of fixture in the package, the extracted impedances shows arbitrary harmonic impedances. In order to match the optimal impedances, output matchin circuit which has 4 transmission lines is presented. Characteristic impedances and electrical lengths of the transmission lines are mathmatically calculated. The power amplfiier with $54.6{\times}40mm^2$ shows the output power of 8 W at the fundamental frequency of 2.5 GHz, the efficiency above 55 %, and harmonic suppression of above 35 dBc at the $2^{nd}$ and the $3^{rd}$ harmonics.
